I have a big issue with that system.
A game that does not reward my time spend - is a game not worth playing.
After 800 hours played I still enjoy the crafting and pvp content and continued playing - but this change actually negates all time spend.
I would define 3 player bases: PvE Content player, Eco System Player (Crafting, farming mats) and PvP player. A lot of player mix those elements.
The new system punishes pure PvP players even harder than before, because there is no real reward system for pvp content only. Pushing watermark in PvP is nearly impossible and the tuning is fully off. The Outpost caches are the biggest issue for a PvP reward system and cant get compared to any PvE run. 200 outpost wins reflect a maximum gearscore of 520 drops.
The crafting system in itself has no impact on watermark but allows for higher gs.
With these changes I fall back - as a pvp only and crafting player, to 520 gearscore.
Running 1 Week elite chests results in a higher watermark. The current system is not designed well - the new implemented system reduces my 599 average gearscore to 520 and below.
Well thats the definition of 0 value of 800 hours spend. This change will lose a huge player base of high progress players from the pvp and crafting side.
Yea! So what if people invested hundreds of hours and this is a horrid change.
I would feel better if they ignored other peoples progress at least too.

yes - and PvP players have nearly 0 reward.
The new system established rewards outpost caches with the new mechanism.
Without even trying it, I would make a bet, that a team that designed the current pvp reward system also failed in designing the new one on ptr. Apart from that - pvp and crafters are now pretty much screwed.
So your gonna quit. Because it will be easier for you to gain hem than Before…
Come on guy bypassing the hwm by purchasing items I. Trade post was kinda lame
HWM was lame, crafting items was cool, pvp was cool, soloing and duoing monsters was cool
So now you get expertise for all of that
you can only get 1 expertise bump per day for any other activity besides Elite zone farming and expeditions.
even at 10 gs per bump, it will take 100 days to have the same potential you had before
An upgrade could potentially be 1 point as well. So thats 100 days PER SLOT… AGS is about to lose all casual and semi hardcore players. Not to mention those that enjoyed the crafting. Even at a 5 point upgrade, its 125 days for your 5 main slots not including weapons and jewelry … Good luck

What is the point of high level crafting if the gear you make is less powerful than it’s shown stats?
That kills crafting and trading.
Boy, do I feel dumb for buying better gear from the TP. Do I get my gold back?

Hope you didn’t farm gold legitimately to buy high end items crafted or looted by others because apparently that’s not as good as HWM farming! Zerg Myrkgard with 40 people endlessly? 600gs Expertise for you! Farm valuable materials, make a killing on the market and spend tens of thousands of hard earned gold on high level items? No no no! You didn’t zerg any Myrkgard! You don’t deserve the good stuff!

Just one question, how many hours a week do you play?
Nah this change is going to really diminish their player base. For once it’s a change that will actually make many people I know leave the game finally. Just look at almost every single comment and thread since the announcement… 99% negative.
I bought my gear and I tell you what, If this change is real, I’m out just like many others. Not only is this a stupid idea but crafting 600 gear is completely useless atm then.
