Yeah… this game suppose to be on beta stages… now is a mess.
they legit adding so many new ways of farming that WM system u can now even obtain daily 100% upgrades duo to just playing OPR, just check how the PTR patch works… also for early 2022 thats months away so im sure u have plenty of time!
This is absolutely not true. There was talk of this on my server earlier and we ran through it with our tank wearing no armor. It is all doable with lower gear score. Nearly all of the “big damage” attacks and mechanics can be avoided and there really aren’t any true DPS checks (you could maybe say the last boss of Lazarus but they lowered his damage so much that it is a joke at this point).
With that being said, I still think this change is maybe the worst change I have ever seen proposed for an MMO.
Yup. Also makes it largely useless to have a company crafter.

Yet another change that is just absolutely toxic to new players, given the recent nerfs to watermarking via both direct watermark rate and the difficulty level of elite mobs.
Prediction for how many people will be playing? 5k? They will have to merge all the servers into one
I will try to look at this from a balanced perspective from what I can understand.
Pros:
Value in HWM grinding
Advantage in PVP over players with low HWM?
Now fresh or lazy lvl 60 with low HWM, you can actually kill people who have not invested time increasing their HWM?
Overall more enjoyable PvP satisfaction for people who have invested in HWM grind, they will see their hard work basically.
Cons:
People who rushed to 600 HWM at release will remain kings, people who actually decided to play the overall offerings of the game punished.
New players punished. Which means the player base will be catered to existing players and we can expect alot more people quitting the game.
Low end crafters will suffer, only top tier crafting for perfect RNG perks high will hold some value.
In summary, the concept of adding value for HWM is acceptable since AGS is fully committing to this system, as much feedback as we give it seems AGS will not scrap the HWM system.
I think if AGS go ahead they need some compromise for crafters. For example Jewelry should not be linked to HWM/ Jewelry can be dropped from expeditions or elites/ bosses. Jewelry crafting requires several 200 crafts I.e. stonecutting/ smelting/ arcane.
On the other hand maybe gear crafters who are lvl 200 can roll on any existing gear such as perks and stats, maybe a limited amount of rolls on gear before. I don’t know but a complete revamp of the usefulness of crafters on gear.
AGS execution time and time again is poor. The way they deliver content with no real plan and do not acknowledge the wider picture and consequences of major changes just shows how amateur the development team is.

This new system is better but still terrible, what about new players? what about returning players?
This watermark/expertise system has to go, there is nothing good from it. They need a new good gamedesigner for sure, it feels like they don’t even play the game. If you take a break for a month will the only option be to buy expertise-boosts in the cash shop?
On top of that we have no changes to luck when it comes to gear drops, i feel this has to go as well.
Trophies needs to change, no damage boost from them at all. This just alienate new players or returning players. Pots is enough regarding boosts and they can also be shared at least.
Most annoying is i couldn’t see any changes regarding weapon balance, and we all know GA/GH and Lifestaff rules OPR and WARs. No changes regarding armor either, really wanted changes for PVE at least because there is no reason to run anything but heavy.
Fire everyone. Hire game developers.

Yes there are other things in hindsight that take a hit:
- bottlenecked / slowed down progression, this stops elite players doing endgame content, creates a stale endgame because you will need to wait for less invested players to catch up.
- crafting and crafting sets now become more useless.
- value of high tier items goes down
- items that don’t drop often (i.e jewelry) brings down your gearscore, and becomes a ridiculous grind.
Does each weapon account for your overall average too or just the highest weapon? Because that will have a varied impact too.
Actually apparently that is what is going to happen, everyone reset to 500
lifestaff, there is a bug with another weapon that stops all lifestaff heals from working - LS is not the most OP.
Are you by chance a Firestaff user? Because that’s the only weapon I could see struggle against healer, healing is really under loved in this game. Heavy armour army only.
I read dev blog, this is game system from a mobile game I played some time ago, just different “currency” names. Right? Its not just me?

People were mocking me when I was analyzing the trends from players leaving after the Into the Void patch. I compared it to numbers from past MMOs and still truly believe that by end of 2022, the peak player base will be ~20-30k and each region will only have 5-6 servers each to consolidate the population.
