Reading the first bit just makes me remember back when wars were being won by mages all casting ice storm and crashing people to desktop :joy:. Mage weapons to me seem like one that has to have changes to it made very cautiously or else wars can be unplayable.

The issue here is that Stamina related Evading is no longer going to be as reliable due to the massive nerf to light armor. Using Stamina after someone already connected with you is now going to be completely ineffective to disengage or create distance after the patch. Shirking Energy also got a 50% nerf on top of that.

“massive” only change is 20% roll distance for 1.5s. heck the slow on current live version is 1.75. it isn’t as insanely big as you’re acting like it is

I woule increase heavy attack dmg for FS. It takes liek 2sec to load it and its slow projectile that is not easy to hit if target is not standing still. Would be nice if mages can have some additional dmg that is skills based.

Or just buff pillar of fire dmg by like 50%.

Pillar is definitely extremely inconsistent with certain topography. Casting it from above on a target below feels really good, but casting it uphill feels terrible. Besides that, it often gets stuck on tiny objects and overall barely deals more damage than a standard heavy attack. I think they should atleast make the area of effect a little bit bigger.

Honestly besides Fireball and Burnout, none of the other Firestaff abilities feel great to use in the third slot. They’re either extremely clunky to use, are too telegraphed or just don’t deal enough damage.

If u want play mage then better find another game. Here only DEX or STR will be only option soon.

Imo, it should be a 15% Armor pen spell perk.

If you compare it to 150 DEX perk giving you -10 stamina discount on every single dodge or Grit for 300 STR -

There is absolutely no perk for INT that gets even remotely close to it.

On top FS has 0 cc. No bueno

Exactly, also Flamethrower is cheese for players with poor aim.

Burnout is arguably trash too because of how easily it gets interrupted and its huge Cooldown.

they should remake one or two spells, one fireball allow us to load it and then shot it with spalsh high splash dmg and high dot for magic dmg,

Switch fire Dash into maybe like a flaming body spell that does dmg aoe and to thouse who hit u and protect you thay way for X amount of time ?

I do not think they should remove Burnout, its mechanic is unique.

Only if it weren’t for its long start-up time and interruptability…
It could be more practical and justify the long CD.

On a side note:
given how one must land shots repeatedly and more often than with all other ranged weapons, dealing the least damage with Light and Heavy attacks doesn’t seem right.

Consistently good aim should be rewarded instead of spamming Flamethrower and W.

I think an important thing that nobody seems to have mentioned here yet is how weak mages are in all PvE content. Look at any M10 Gold expedition group for ANY expedition and you will just never see a mage in their group because no matter the set up, mages just under no circumstances perform in PvE to the same extent that melees can. Even in non-mutated, I feel like I’d be a waste of a DPS slot to bring a FS or IG in most expeditions when any other melee DPS can do significantly more damage.

FS - Add a passive that lets you change the heavy attack animation into a spell like attack that can be charged
IG - Add a passive that lets you change the heavy attack animation into a spell like attack that can be charged
Vg - Add a passive that lets you change the heavy attack animation into a spell like attack that can be charged

Well, duh…you are a ranged class in light armor. Besides, CC in this game break when they take at least 1 damage. So you can’t stun them and spam Flamethrower…

Stun does break, not all CC. And what he had on mind i think is weak cc likes slows.

But i dont think all weapons do need to have some kind of cc. FS can have none if is good is anything else. Issue is its hard to tell what FS is best at. Its kinda good in few thinkgs, but not very good in any of them.
