1 thing that makes me want to quit

This never came across your great minds over there?

How would you expect them to work? Where in the UI would you expect them to be?

As containers and sub-containers. I would like to have a way to organize armor and jewelry into perhaps crafting gear and fighting gear. And inside of those backpacks or containers, I would like to have sub-containers or bags that I can organize my gear into harvesting, logging, mining etc…

Perhaps there should be a way to dye these containers or bags, or choose from a handful of preset colors. They should also have the capability to be renamed.

Some new UI button should be created. I would recommend that containers and sub-containers open in the same UI window that current backpack is in. You would need new arrow buttons to navigate container level.

Or create a new UI element for the containers to open in new windows that can be dragged and arranged. Either works. First one is simple.

Would they need to be unlocked, should they be available to everyone fully?

Yes, this should be just a UI upgrade for everyone, a QoL update. The current system is not very forgiving, it is unfinished. This should be seen as a work in progress.

I posted a suggestion along these lines at Add ability to easily switch equiped gear

simply give us 200 different bag openings, that we can sort ourselves
200 plus bags that are not tied in with anything else, we can sort our gear this way
might be the simplest way right now to be implemented quicky

Tbh I think FF14 has the best system to change gear or the appearance.

I would really welcome a “click one button to change into gathering-set”

Watch how diablo 3 does it, its the best option here

Player is wearing a set of tools, weapons, armor and trinkets
there will be a tab on the side of the storage UI

You click on that icon and it’ll show several blank presets. You click “make new preset”
it will automatically “save” whathever you are using at the moment, and put in storage whathever else does not belong to that preset.

You click on another preset, it unequips different gear, puts them in storage, and equips everything that you need to follow that preset.

If you lose something related to the preset, it no longer shows in your saved preset. (its not on that storage, salvaged, sold, dropped) it needs to be on that chest, since storage isn’t linked between settlements

That would be nice.

A relative simple way to do it is just give people like 5 paper dolls, so when you go to your paper doll you have 5 different “tabs”. You can put in any armor/weapons in them, but only 1 will be active at one time.
The game will still see the items in the other paper doll sets as part of the inventory, but you can activate them on the fly. From an inventory point of view nothing changes, it’s just the visual help that is a massive QoL. And the fact that you can activate them ofc.

Any items in the inactive sets can be seen by the game as just items in your inventory so it might be easier to implement than making a whole new “crate” system etc.

The worst part was how she “coached herself” OH we didnt get the patch notes up in time again but we tried! But it was a success because we did a tiny little better this time! We learned from our mistake even though we still had faked patch notes again. As the 2 guys are just staring at her silently like shes a derp and she keeps making the team look bad and doling out excuses.

I wish I could be the lead of project and fail and tell my bosses “Hey we did better this time though even though we did the same mistake again! But this is a success because we did 3% better than last fail” The boss is supposed to tell you all that if they are ok with you failing, not you tell the boss that and hope they shrug and go along with it.

How hard is it to get a summary of patch notes and update them as the PTR leader?? Should literally be the easiest part of the job except for “trying to take on those indestructible level 40 mobs” that a project leader cant beat

As soon as she siad that she cant kill 40 elites as a 60 I knew they didnt actually play the game and its just some job for them.

Oh, I was going to reply, then I got the message

“This topic has been solved. Only reply here if…”

Amazing! AGS has resolved this!

Praise Azoth!

I have a very simple solution. Let us trade again crafted gear (not named gear), even if the gear was assigned to the character already. I don’t know why this is not possible in this game. If we could do that, we could easly swap between different classes / type of gears when we want. The market would be much more interesting.

honestly the fix would be most simple by actually giving us a section in our bags we can name whatever we want… like right now the game automatically sorts all our gear by 4 aspects… instead of just setting every piece of armor and every piece of weapon into the same two slots. etc etc etc… let me make custom SLOTS in my bag… Pretty simple… if i want a section for just my MOTES ill have a section in my bag called just that and place them all there… or even be able to just simply SORT ITEMS without you literally forcing it back to the top or into a predetermined position within our bags/bank. How hard is this? Seriously?

If I may add, please look into Guild Wars 2 Templates.
I will quote their wiki here:

“The equipment template is a set of tabs under your Equipment panel that can each store a loadout containing a set of weapons, armor, trinkets, back item, runes, sigils and infusions.”
“Build and Equipment Templates last used in PvE, WvW, and PvP are remembered as of the December 3,2019 update, and are automatically activated when returning to that game mode.”
“Equipment Storage
It is not required that items be stored in the equipment storage. If the player wants to keep all items in their character’s inventory it is possible, however storing them will free up inventory space.” <<< This may be a problem if the “template” items equiped also get damage on player death. It may cause a repair costs on the thousands.

Also, they only give 2 equipment tabs for free, but they have way less need to change gear. NW definitely needs a way to create multiple equipment tabs and rename them as the player will.

Even letting us open the inventory while RUNNING to an activity would help. Why isn’t this a thing?

Oh ya. “Immersion”

That’s about as easy of a programming fix you can get

Open inventory while running = 1 instead of zero for gods sake.

AGS need to take a step back from their “vision” and give players what they have been asking for. Nay, SCREAMING for.

edit: help. Not a solution. Part of a solution. Containers or a wardrobe in towns like literally most other mmos

Look into ESO dressing room addon. If the devs at AGS cannot code such an addition in the game, then they are incompetent interns, not developers.

Excuses don’t fly here.

I happen to agree with OP. It would be best if the items were consolidated to just luck gear.

Here are the add-ons and it’s descriptions for ESO gear switching at the press of a hotkey:

The best way to do the entire transmog option is to create a second “tab” at the bottom of the premium costics window.

set it as “transmog” and then allow any item picked up that has a unique graphic to be selected in there as the replacement graphic (like premium replaces the normal items). This would require the least amount of work.

On the topic of transmogging we should also talk about dyes and premium costmetics being able to be dyed.

The color of dyes are deceptive, and they seem to shift colors in shades as opposed to direct rates. The following changes would be excellent

  • A new gui related feature to select a shade transfer, or a direct color usage.
  • a feature to select if that material is has a metallic shine or is more like a flat fabric.
  • the ability to dye premium gear
  • reworks to various types of armors which seem like they cannot be dyed

This is something I’ve also been wanting for a while now. Also, we should consider including character attribute stats to these loadouts/presets. I think it would up the playability if I could switch up my complete “class” while in a town with only a couple clicks. (sometimes ya feel like a tank, sometimes ya don’t)

What if we tie extra sets of equipment to the Camp Tiers? Like you can put equipment inventory in the Camping tent and only access alternate sets of equipment while standing at your own active campsite? This would limit exploitation and require a player to plan for a particular task with a particular set of equipment without adding more stuff to primary inventory.

I’d recommend first simplying armor and weapons by doing something like removing specific element and enemy type resistances/damage, and rely more on longer duration consumables to give us a simpler system overall.

If expansions ever do come out and new enemies or damage types are added the problem of having more stuff just increases.
