10months ago, 22march i creates topic “why bow should never be buffed, and stay nerfed forever”. And well… People were laughing at me, telling me that im trolling, or im hating. We all know how(10months) later BOWpr looks like. Bows and muskets are currently one biggest issue in the game. In march, when bow was in unusable state, and people were spamming forum, with bow buff demands, i said that it should stay in unusable state forever, people were laughing at me. Now they everyday enjoy BOWpr, after bow buff they demanded so much. Same people who demanded bow buff, now want it to be nerfed.
iv played since start of game, the so call unusable state was when the bow was most dangerous would have loved to shown you what my bow did back then, people with good aim rocked with bow back then. It used to hit way harder, like 8 to 12k easy on mediums, just had to have good aim.
Bow can hit for 5-6K on light armor at range (2 shot on most light armor users), has a bunch of stagger moves, and has some of the best escape/mobility. Try chasing down a bow user with speed on dodge. How do you counter something that hits that hard and can’t be caught besides picking up a musket?
Either the damage or the maneuverability need to be toned down.
Bow need nerfs, if the only nerf musket, lot of people will switch to bow, and this won’t solve anything, so its better to hard nerf musket, and give bow a little nerf to make it balanced
I also get the feeling that New World’s Muskets are like today Rifles. So much accuracy on the Distance, no Gravity pulling the bullet down. it’s nearly a straight line to the far away target…
Nerfing the Musket’s could be, bring back their real inaccuracy… and let Gravity pull their Bullets in curve like they do. For far away targets aim a bit higher so the Bullet flies a curve to hit or head shot then you have Aiming skill back
When was the Muskets invented with cartridges instant of powder? But well, they trow them into the game and now have to deal with it
Definitely, I don’t know if you know this or others but the original musket designed for New World was a projectile weapon not hit-scan. So it’s something AGS already has somewhere.
Well, introduce some Recoil for the Musketeers. So that the user need some CON Value for not break their Shoulder . You know, like you see many of these Shotgun Recoil Meme’s on the Internet
Same could goes for the Bows, you need some kind of Strength for even tighten its String
But i bet they will use the absolute minimum to use them in the Future anyway
Bow has always been ridiculously OP, it’s just that 99% of the playerbase isn’t good enough to use it.
Bow builds have the highest empower, damage buffs, mobility, and iframes in the game.
Not to mention the animation cancels and movement exploits that let them shoot and charge heavies way faster than intended.
But most people aren’t good with bow so you’ve got the handful of players that can actually play with it, and then the majority that stands still light attacking, dies, and then complains about melee or whatever.
