10 quality of life improvements New World needs from a player with 1800 hours played:
Better PvE combat with less annoyance. As a healer it can take 1-2 min to kill a single enemy and in 95% of the cases the best way to open a chest is to just ignore the enemy and climb on top of something until it retreats. The combat also often feels weird and unresponsive.
Make an algorithm estimating the price of gear and weapons based on previous sells in the trade post of the same gear and weapons with similar/same stats and perks and make an estimated value of the item, make it possible to sort inventory by value of items so you see which items are worth selling, and which weapons you should salvage.
Easier gear management. I currently have 20+ gear combos from everything to crafting bonuses to gathering bonuses, gathering luck and specific gear for PvE and PVP for different occasions.
Place more trophies in higher tier houses, it’s so annoying having to travel between each of the three houses every time you want to gather a specific material, craft high tier items or do a certain expedition.
Improvements to housing points. I’ve personally spent 200+ hours gathering the finest pieces of furnishing items and somehow I have 3000 points, and some other guy has 2,000,000+ points spamming tier 1 and 2 furnishing items. It makes no sense, and recent gain in territory standing shouldn’t play such a huge role.
“Quick sell” feature, click on an item and quickly sell it for 0.01 gold cheaper than the current cheapest item of that type on the trade post. This would be a way to quickly get rid of unwanted items.
The game should better translate your current player stats. You should be able to see your current luck from chests/ monsters and gathering luck/ yield/ efficiency, refining bonuses, how attributes affect each weapon, how gems affect specific types of enemies, how far away you are from crafting 595-600 gear and how to achieve it etc.
Faction rework. Owning a town or a fort has so many benefits and bonuses and a single player has slim to none control over who owns it. I’m on Nysa (EU) and Syndicate has been in control of 80-100% of the territory for months. shorturl.at/nCMT4
Add mounts and a mount skill. Level your mount skill and unlock different type of wildlife at levels 0-150, at level 200 you unlock the chance to get dragon eggs from killing dragons, you can craft minor nests, basic nests and major nests and place one in each house. A dragon takes weeks to grow and the perks are based on what you feed it in the growing process and which dragon you killed to receive the egg.
More randomness to gathering, I have 25-45 minute routes when it comes to iron, starmetal, orichalcum, hemp, silkweed, wirefiber, wyrdwood, iron wood, lodestone, silver, gold, platinum, rawhide, thick hide and iron hide all engraved in my head and it’s boring running the exact same path over and over for hours fighting for the same resources as 5+ other people. Maybe add 10 times more resource spawns, but only have 10% spawn at a time so it’s harder to run specific routes.
They confirmed this was being worked on in the last dev update.
That is a bug where if it’s not your first house, territory standing won’t count towards your housing points. They’re fixing it
They said in the 2nd to last developer update that they were looking into mounts. I personally don’t think the game needs it, but they’re working on it.
Another suggestion for QoL would also be to have some kind toggle/setup for an auto-salvage function.
Lets say you could select to always auto salvage anything less than rare or less than epic.
Or/and be able to base it of GS, to be able to slect auto salvage of anything less than a certain GS.
If we got a feature like I mentioned in point 2, we would be able to get an estimated value of every piece of gear and weapon based on its gear score and perks from recent trade post sells, maybe you could set a threshold to automatically salvage gear and weapons worth less than 100 gold, in case you get a good rare item or a bad legendary item.
This is a great idea. Some sort of sales history information would be very nice in the trading post. You’d think AGS being part of Amazon could come up with the data analytics to provide such information or at least give us an API that we can build third party sites to build the info.
Should be AGS’s NUMBER ONE priority and their holiday bonuses should be contingent on getting it out to us before Christmas.
I would change this. I would say allow us to have more than 3 houses. Continue to only allow 5 trophies per house but have the management for which are “active” be done via a UI in the player bio and only allow the 15 total at once we currently get and build in the management to ensure no more than 3 of any type. This would generate more tax revenue for more territories and many people would elect to have more than 3 houses not only for the trophies but the storage.
I agree a detailed stat page needs to be added and show all the characters current stats and modifiers as well as indicate their sources.
Nope. Being able to go to a specific location to farm is efficient. Very few folks would be keen on being forced into randomly farming. Nearly everyone I know prefers the current system. That said there needs to be more nodes allowing for more options of where to go to farm. Right now there is only 1-2 locations that are idea for targetting a specific material unless its hide. Essentially fibers and minerals need to be increased across the board still especially with the higher pop servers now.
