1.2 Hidden changes

The op has been banned.
They were mentioned in the patch notes, yes. But what was mentioned was

Elite chest odds were reduced a little, but open world named enemies were reduced a lot.

What they did not mention was that in this case “a lot” means 90%. While “a lot” is still a factual statement, they are obfuscating what it really going on. Which is, in my opinion, the purpose of this thread.

A purpose achieved, it seems, as there was immediately after this thread caught fire a change to the gold cost of the casts.

Im glad that your server can do all those contents, on my server which is very low pop. cant even start an outpost rush on peak hours. cant run myrk so the only way to raise watermark is chests.

Why does the watermark system be needed in the game anyway? You need to grind for weeks to get it up to max and after that you would still need to find the items you would end up using for BIS. I would rather have the BIS be in dungeons without the watermark system have the dungeons drop fix gs items make them the best gear possible for the min maxers and make it so that the crafters gear is requires to start the journey to end game.

Where this is not 100% true 570 gold ( the price at outposts ) are WAY to high. It is random how much of an increase you get ( we tested this ), but the cost of the crafts is at least 5 times to much. How would a new player or slightly casual player get their watermark up in a timely manner. It would be 3,990 coins a day to use this system. My question is how many people earn that a week?

I personally am at max on everything but shield, void, and jewelry so this does not effect me nearly as much. I also can easily make that much a day to do this, but that still doesn’t help the players that just want to have fun in New World. This system is a breath of fresh air for the gearing grind and I am even ok with the scaling coming in 2022, but the cost of this is so insane. People couldn’t afford 1200 a week for their house, so how did anyone think this was a good idea.

Having said this I do have a solution. First make it a stagnate 100 gold per gypsum and that’s it. No scaling with taxes and no cost for crafting the boxes. Please AGS I love the patch on the PTR and have spent a few hours on it already, but this will blow back in your face which we all don’t want to see. I think it should cost anything because why punish your players for playing the game. I hope we can lower the prices, that is what the PTR is for right?

Lets get this right and have a GREAT December

Only applies to the worst edge cases like Jewelry slot HWM grind. Where only specific named elites dropped Jewelry. In which case it is less than 10% drop rate, and less than 30% chance to upgrade your HWM by a number ranging from 1 to 3.

Leading to less than 0.03% chance to upgrade your Jewelry HWM. Even hardcore elite farming players have Jewelry HWM of at most 520 to 530. Might be outliers with 540 to 550.

My 3 dailies give me 500 gold on a good day. Sometimes it is as low as 240, depend where I do them and which ones I get. Those elite ones are not for me.

Still waiting for bans against cheaters who used Invincibility cheats way back around Update 1.0.2., plus all the cheats and exploits since then.
And the best AGS can do is say “we will have to earn back any trust we have lost”?
Sorry, but it doesn’t seem like AGS is doing anything at all except bulldozing ahead with whatever they want to implement.

I was about to say AFK in Outpost Rush will become commonplace to quickly churn matches by loss-farming to get the gold, but yeah lower-pop servers won’t even really have that option.
Then it’ll be “bots to the rescue”! Fake populations full of bots to fill Outpost Rush rosters.

Similar has happened before recently – instead of taking action on an exploiter/botter fishing INSIDE a rock for weeks, they just hid the thread. Showing the bad state of the game, topic gets unlisted

@NW_Mugsy Is this how AGS tries to win back trust? Do they think that simply having community managers post nice PR messages like “need to win back trust” will actually get them trust when they do underhanded things?

The best thing I think :

starting in early 2022, it will also govern the effectiveness of your gear. This means if your War Hammer Expertise is 520, and you equip a 550 Gear Score War Hammer, the weapon’s effective Gear Score will be reduced to 520

So If I understand well there is no reason to buy a better gear score stuff because It will be nerfed by my Expertise Score ?

Isnt neither my fault or my job to do this research, for some unknown reason they decide as with other things in game to make taxes both abusable and blurry.

You have your own opinion and thats fine, i am not searching for ways to argue with people,if you are ok to have so huge disparency between players so easy then i dont think anything can change your mind.

While i dont like that money may go out of the economy, i prefer to burn them than give them to the person that already has reached the gold cap x 5-10 times with doing nothing at all.

New World isnt the first game that has guilds, i dont know any single other game that gives you the ability to max every single craft skill, get multiple bis gear sets, hundrends of bis pots and bis foods and still have a bank with just an arena 50 vs 50 win.

And for the majority of the servers even this isnt true, since all companies bought their land and the first couple months were full of exploits and bugs that all the time was in favor of the defender.

I think AGS is setting themselves to fail with these monthly content releases in this current state of the game. Reasons:

  1. The game still has a lot of bugs and content patches create even more bugs, the latter is because of the next few points.
  2. You don’t seem to have enough time to fix everything from the launch then 1.1 etc. Feels like a lot of bugs still from launch have been put aside/forgotten etc. I realize there were more pressing matters like trophy duping and other stuff, but again you did this to yourself.
  3. HAve a PTR and a patch 2 weeks later does not give you enough time to go through all the feedback and actually implement changes. No way it does with all the other stuff popping up from the previous patch (1.1 in this case)

My feedback would be, delay a few content patches and focus on polishing the game. Give yourself enough time to actually have a polished patch as well with enough feedback and testing so when it comes out most of the things should be fine, ofc there will be a bug here and there, but that should be fine if the majority of things are fixed during testing etc.

His post was full of misinformation!

A previous patch note referred to a life staff nerf (removing AoE) with

Slightly improved the performance of the Life Staff with changes to the passive abilities Mending Touch and Blissful Touch

That is not just dropping the ball or forgetting to list a change. That is intentionally misleading.

I will say this. When the work done by the dev team actually matches up to what you CMs say I’ll start trusting you. Until than I sadly can’t.

Take the last patch for 1.1. The changes that were not listed in any of the notes both prior and right after launch makes it hard for anything to be tested. If we don’t know about all the changes on a PTR how are we supposed to test it which is what PTRs are meant for. A PTR is meant to gather feedback on changes and make adjustments before going live.

No wonder the chesthumpers are so happy about this…
They got to increase their HWM with the hatchet exploits and massive zergs…

And now anyone who DIDN’T do that and crafted their gear gets to spend literal hundreds of thousands of coin (that they won’t make) and months of full time play to catch up to them in gear quality.

“Elite PvE” chesthumpers get to be the gear elite caste because AGS kneecapped everyone else.

If this hits Live, I’m not going to bother with anything AGS ever… ever again. Like that is wholesale ****ery.

I’ve seen some egregious player punishments and screwups, but nothing on this scale, let alone one that so completely advantages a certain group of players in a heavily group PvP game.

Nuke everyone down to 501 and see how many supporters this has left.

My gawd.

To be fair, in every case so far, the eventual explanation is logical and shows the devs are doing their best to make changes in a positive direction for the overall playerbase’s benefit. Over time, hopefully the playerbase will rebuild trust and stop panicking, spreading false rumors (which is where a lot of the panic comes from – someone blatantly spreading a lie).

Expecting AGS to proactively communicate all aspects that players may panic about… that’s certainly a skill but that’s not a feasible expectation to have 100%. That applies to any and every project and implementation everywhere. You do your best to test the waters… gauge feedback and general sentiment… and then address the big holes as much as you can with FAQs etc. So there may be room for growth in those areas… but expecting “OMG you didn’t say you wouldn’t reset WMs!!” is a little crazy.

The difference advantage here is minimal, you are ok with the tax system advantage from launch which is 1000x bigger than this, and u will leave nw for that?

Have you been to mykguard lately?

I don’t think anyone gives a shit about TOS, just like AGS don’t give a shit about us lol.
