expedition bosses, named world bosses and elite chests also drop loot whcich can raise your expertise, but they have been greatly reduced to coincide with the gypsum
basically added something to make it look like they were making it easier, gated it all behind timelocks and grouping in elite 60+ expeditions, which of course are time locked and dependent on getting a group, then nerfed the crap out of the drops from named bosses and chests
Hopefully this time they take the community feedback instead of giving the “Well this is how we want it to be, so that’s the way it’s gonna be” response.
If you’re now 60, better get grinding those HWM. Come expertise, you’ll be eating dust. Can’t commit the time? Well you’re shit out of luck. Dead server and can’t find groups to grind with? Well screw you too! Wanna engage in PVP and contribute to your community? Fat chance, get grinding!
The fact that current WM carries over into the new system shows the devs complete disregard of their new “people should not be circumventing gear progression” design choice. I’ve tried to get an answer from the pro-AGS about why people who exploited their way to 600GS get to keep their HWM, but none have even tried to give an honest answer :^) These fools have only one thing in mind. To feel powerful over the people who didn’t have time to play the game as much as they did, or as they did.
Nope you can’t. Because there are no consumer protection laws for video gamers. This is the Wild Wild West of the corporate world. They would be insane to not exploit this multi-billion $$$ industry loopholes.
That’s the biggest reason compared to other genres. The MMORPG genre is a very niche genre. And further more the PvP MMORPG sub genre is a niche of a niche genre.
Most gamers laugh at the thought of playing MMOs these days. And I’m starting to see why.
I’m only 51 and a full focus healer. Not too concerned with endgame yet as I enjoy all the quests and levelling. Less looking forward to the 60+ now, but I’m going to stick with it as I’ve not committed to any MMO since early ESO.
If it still remains fun, even though waiting for groups already is slowing, then I will persist. Failing that, I’ll sell my 1 in 17 Large salmon to the masses.
I kind of really like healing, helping people along their grind or just providing some help makes me feel good.
Show me any game where you had to level weapon mastery and weapon expertise. What’s the point of calling it “weapon MASTERY” if you’re not an expert on it. How do you max out in MASTERY but not an expert?
Last time I checked in rankings expert is beneath MASTER.
To further entertain this nonsense, this is game is definitely rolling along right into more negative trend.
The excessive gold cost in particular is the worst decision in the entire expertise system. No clue who thought that was a good idea and why. It should cost nothing but time, like it does now.
All I see here is mostly uneducated raging that will get nobody here anywhere.
And they want to be “heard”. lel.
Anyways, my advice to those foaming at the mouth rabid animals would be this: regain your humanity and offer constructive criticism. State your area of concern. Explain why it’s concerning TO YOU (take note of the to you portion, it’s caps so even you can understand). Explain what you would do to solve said concern.
Afterwards, in the meantime, try to think about and consider this: how will it affect the game across the board? (will X buff be fair on comparison to Y? What factors are already currently present about X that will either benefit the game as a whole or cause hinderance if my solution is implemented? And many more factors to consider).
If you can not do this, then scream into your pillows because the incessant raging and harsh words in non-constructive fashions is just childish, and stupid.
Y’all do know that not all of the PTR changes go right into live server right?
The PTR is to TEST things to see functionality.
Go on the PTR and suggest the gold cost be lowered, try and break it and tell them how it broke, so they fix and we don’t have exploits/shutdowns on the live servers.
To bad that the PTR of New World doesn’t work like that. Like @NW_Mugsy explained in detail in this diskussion evaluating and implementing of possible feedback take much time. Since NW PTRs are only alive for a week no feedback can be implemented in time for the release.
Because of that the november update went live without change and even brought old and already solved bugs back.
If the december update is really comming at the beginning of next week they didn’t learn anything from the november desaster.
Which sentence do you mean? Where they lightly promised improvements and still used the same timeframe they apologised for? Or the improvement that they gave nobody level 200 trade skills so that many things couldn’t be tested until half the PTR uptime was already gone?
So tell me when will they have time to implement the feedback which seems to take so much time when the hinted date for release on the live servers is in 5 days?
