I’ve been hunting around for the answer but not found one yet. Is the 1.25% (the extra 0.25%) on the last XP Event going to go crafting for aptitude chests too? I know the refine 2x XP did not cover the aptitude chest progress… So I am wondering if that’s the same for crafting and it’s just a boost during the leveling process?
If you really want to plan. I would 100% NOT craft during the 1.25x XP event. Mat prices are going to shoot up more than 25% and at that point you are spending more money than you would.
The music buff, 75% gathering speed increase, should lower prices across the board after this patch. Also some professions are getting easier so you should 100% not do these until the patch.
It depends on what you are training, but in next patch T4/T5 things are going to give more xp (I have yet to test how much more). This could easily account for the 25%>
Then if you training furnishing/weaponssmithing they are reducing the xp required for those skills. It’s like how fishing is double XP, but in next patch the amount of xp required is half! Logging definitely still very useful if not 200 though.
Then the new salvaging rewards in next patch, when you make so many epics it might be worth waiting to cash in on this small little benefit as well.
Finally the cost of materials as said above. People going to be selling for more than +25% increase. For skills not bound to a cost this doesn’t matter but for crafting it does. So unfortunately they flopped here (I also really love the game don’t worry haha).
I just warn people looking to train crafting skills is all. Do the math and check it yourself, but might be more useful to train other things and hold. Even more efficient would be to sell your materials during the event for premium and buy back afterwards. That might be a +50% xp boost in itself haha. As crafting skills are not about time invested but the cost of materials which is something I think AGS overlooked unfortunately.
I am on the PTR and yes, I’ve come across these from salvaging. I am not sure of the XP value but yes I will effect market in what way, not sure. I will check to see if I can sell it on the TP.
It doesn’t work that way. There is no item to trade. The Infused Shards craft directly into XP for your character. So no shortcut to leveling up crafting. Just a way to make it a little less onerous on the people who decide to level it up.
What I’m telling you is there is no item. You get the scrap, take it to the TP, craft the thing, and your XP goes up. There is nothing to consume/trade after you’ve crafted using the scrap.
Yes, that item doesn’t actually exist. You “craft” it, but then the only thing that happens is your XP increases. It’s not like an azoth vial or something where you need to “open” it to consume the XP- that happens automatically the instant you craft it.
And there is plenty of reason to use mats to craft, because it’s a much faster way to get there if you don’t mind devoting the time and/or gold to that purpose.
And maybe cool it with the “R” word, too. It’s uncalled for, and offensive.
I’ve been slowly buying and hoarding mats for about 2-3 weeks now with buy orders and what not to level my weaponsmithing. the objective is to level my weaponsmithing and then sell off the excess ori bars i don’t need so i can make bank off the event, and refund a decent portion of what it cost to level. your right, don’t buy on july 1-4th but if you’ve been smart and stocking for the event you’ll be fine and do well.
Thanks for the information about PTR. So, then the salvage parts will be used not only for the repair sets, but also for leveling of tradings skills. If I don’t build repair sets, I have to use gold for repairs. But I’ll save some amount of gold through not buying of the materials on the trading post.
Well for me, the prices of material don’t matter. I buy only arcane components for stonecutting. I get all the refining components from elite trains and normal chests and convert them with faction “coins” gained on invasion. So not a problem at all. The elite trains wil give me a little bit more benefit.
Nice feature!
