20% damage nerf to bows on PTR

Yea sure, and only 50 people from my company can confirm it, how many times I beat someone, and they were “what, wow, how” .

Just improve your skills to perfection.
In time you were gathering the stuff I was practising.
I am a tryharder dude, I spend over 600 hours on practising my movement, my skills, what works for what, how to cancel this, how to avoid that, everything.
So maybe You are the weak You describe, but my skills are much beyond your level of understanding I see

I think in general for 1v1 bows can just run away forever and slowly poke them down. But i was just saying as an example. This game isnt really built around 1v1 or 2v2. Its all group based. so its kind of pointless untill we get pvp content that is at a smaller scale to really care about it.

You are wrong. And clearly not as good pvp player as You want to be.

And one more thing. Cause it is funny.
What top top top players means to You? cause I consider myself also one of top players in pvp in this game (only). But I am not a streamer, I do not look for attention, so none knows me. How can You say that there isn’t any better “top top players”, instead the one You think about? Cause You did not hear about them ? Not every good player look for attention. Some of them just playing in silence, and getting satisfied when beating a group like your guys 1vs5.
Cya.
Wish You more practise and become pvp beast one day.

Bow does not hit 4k/5k against somebody actually geared though. Those are casual stomping numbers.

You do know full resil, full opal, and anti physical range perks make those hits tickle, and on top of that its not like a normal weapon where the hit is easy, you actually have to hit the target. inb4 “its much harder to hit a target with ice gaunlet or great axe than bow”

I would agree, but so far AGS has in fact made balance changes around smaller scale pvp. Also there is a big community of pvpers who mostly just duel, world pvp and queue OPRs

all talk, link screen shots of war score or i dont really believe anything lol. Your opinion is basically trash mainly because you think bow is OP when its not even used in any competitive space.

AGS: “we payed you 20% more by mistake, the issue has been fixed and your salary should reflect the correct amount”
You: “but I need it :(”

Once arena comes out with ranking i have a pretty good idea whats going to be on top, untill then its just speculation without any hard data. For now though we have data on competitive wars, and that data is that dex is not used nearly as much as strength or int.

I dont play bow, i play mage in wars and musket\rapier in OPR. Bow is not a competitive weapon, i couldnt care less. But i dont think bow is strong at all right now. Void gaunlet and CC from hammer is the main S tier with large scale at the moment. Anybody that says Bow is META or the best weapon is just a joke to me.

I do not need to prove You anything. It is enough for me, that I know what I am capable to do in this game, and it seems You are not.
I do not talk about bow only, but I said, that I can beat You with any weapons.

You guys focus so much on those builds, like it is some magic recipe for winning.
Well, sorry for making You sad, but your movement skills, tactic and many others think also matter.

You can take whatever meta You want, it is still player versus player, not build versus build.

And about bow in OPR and all, it seems You have never met good bow players.
actually, I doubt that You met any good player at any weapon, if You are talking shit like You do before.

It is one of the best 1v1 weapons. As you mentioned in a previous post, we need arena added to the game. Then they can balance weapons based on the arena, not OPR, Wars and duels.
Yes, the bow is not that good in wars, it’s good in 1v1. Then again hammer is not that good in 1v1 by itself since everyone can dodge the stuns and slow attack, but it’s good in wars

When healers got their 20% overall nerf were you a voice of complaint as well?

If this is bug then it should be addressed.
This has to be fixed.

And if it cause shift in DMG that will cause bow to be underutilised then additional changes shall be made by dev team.

I believe that bow dmg is OK.
Everything will be OK, and ranged meta will change when daggers will be introduced.

Is this confirmed on live? Meaning, every shot I am making on NPC mobs is in actuality 20% higher than it should be? Can a dev please confirm this? Because after some quick testing on low level sheep / cougars, I can confirm unless I hit a headshot I am not getting the higher damage nor am I getting arrows back…

Or do they mean, on PTR only, this was occurring and they fixed it?

EDIT Well after some testing… it does appear to be the case. Though it is inconsistent, not always getting arrows back nor doing higher damage. Are the devs sure this is consistently hitting 20% above what it should be, with each and every shot?

Either way, I feel as a primarily bow user I’ve been sold a bill of false goods, and now the rug is being pulled away. I have to agree with OP, there needs to be some sort of buff to either dps on some level if this will indeed go ahead, because that is a HUGE nerf to bow users’ damage.

@frosty.itch

I suggest you look at my posts on this thread. I have been defending Bow on here lol.

I don’t even think that this is true.

stop lying you are not hitting 7k without a heavy (heavys are impossible on the bow in pvp pretty much) and they have to have no resil, no onyx gems, and you are specced into more dmg on heavys and it would have to be a headshot.

also the bow jump “exploit” doesnt speed up the fire rate it just gives you mobility in between shots like we used to have before the shadow nerfed the bow 2 months ago

I don’t use the bow, but I think it’s fine now even with the jump spamming. Removing the jump spam AND reducing the damage by 20% (if true) will kill the bow for the near future.
