All that has gone before is free research for any new game designer. Free design option examples, free features and mechanics concepts, free how-to-do-something or how-not-to-do-something. All of this comes with decades of player feedback and revenue data.
So I’m with the OP here. Excusing AGS for such basic booboos makes little sense.
are you that dumb?!..there is a way to organize ur “FEED” in chat and you can even use “TAB” to switch between the channels…holy fuck stop complaining when u dont check the features!
you havent used chat much, are you in a company and group? If you filter chat at all, it backs up and stops showing you messages. Every few minutes you have to open the chat and select each option to clear the messages or you get a 3-4 minute delay on your chat.
Thats a broken chat system.
Of course not. That would be silly. And I didn’t say that.
But surely it’s just a dumb thing to do to say ‘here’s our new game set on an island with a 17th-century aesthetic and with fantasy concepts where you can change the environment with an axe and portals and factions and wars and and and…’ and not have a UI that is editable. Conceptually.
I understand that they wanted to try something fresh, but some things are in dire need of adjusting.
Not being able to open bags is a minor annoyance, would be nice to do some ‘inventory maintenance’ while running for miles. Not a big deal, but should be changed.
The chat is awful, but that may also be due to Feed not always working properly and weird lag issues with it. Lots of times I see no Company chat while I know my wife just spoke there, very frequently Direct Messages get messed up - I write something, nothing appears, then 5 minutes later it does (and sometimes in the wrong order if I spoke multiple times). Same with Company, there have been plenty times my wife has to tell me what has been said because it is taking minutes before it shows up on my chat. So I think the main issues are more fundamental than UI.
That said, Area really needs the stupid leveling messages to go.
Party window should be adjustable, people often like to move the windows closer to the action, especially healers.
A chat system that doesnt have a 4 minute lag or being able to look at your inventory without stopping everything else you are doing isnt better? really? LOL
This is the truth. All of these games had multiple bad systems at launch. I think people get stuck at remembering the game at a certain time frame and think that’s the way it always was. You don’t even have to go back 20 years to find examples of bad launches…just look at FF14 and ESO. MMOs are just hard and they all need time to get there.
how can you come in and call someone dumb for complaining about broken chat when you dont even understand it enough to know there is a HUGE lag in the chat system.
