Unfortunately AGS seems to be going in the opposite direction from what are the needs and requests of the community. It has created a massive multiplayer open world, focused on pvp, but is preventing players from doing massive pvp. The pvp, especially if massive, is totally discouraged in this game.
There are 3 things AGS should do to relaunch the game:
-
Encourage massive open world pvp, allowing the creation of raid squads, giving the possibility of having a squad leader with a clearly visible icon on his head, in order to better coordinate the teams of more than 5 players in open pvp. AGS accept the fact that people WANT to have massive pitched battles, this being a MMORPG and not a small multiplayer game, and being the game based on pvp.
-
Encourage pvp rewards. Currently no one does pvp quests or open world, they pay nothing, they are not profitable. By doing pvp you don’t improve the equipment, you don’t make money, you don’t do anything that allows you to progress in the game.
It is currently full of people flagged in pvp, who go to farm elite chest in myrkgard without a fight. Does this pvp make sense? -
Improve performance and fix the bug. It is absurd that with 100 players in fight the game has a frightening lag, which prevents many “classes” from playing. (using bows and muskets is impossible with lag). And it is unthinkable that in an MMORPG people avoid wanting to do massive pvp. It is normal, and always will be, that when people say “there are 100 yellows in everfall” another 100 purple or green comes in and there is a massive battle, because people want this.
AGS makes the mistake of relying too much on the community of its players for content. But this is naive. Thinking that it is enough to increase the luck by flagging in pvp to have more pvp, has led to having less pvp. Because now people are flagging in pvp, going to farm chests and elite mobs without pvp. Entering the new pvp quests, thinking that people use them to pvp is naive. People keep doing pvp quests when there is no one to fight them, maybe at night, always avoiding pvp.
So if you (AGS) don’t want to lose other players, leave the absurd way of doing everything to discourage massive pvp. People will NEVER do pvp in small independent groups, they will never do quests in small groups by doing pvp. Follow what the players do and want to do, and incentivize that type of content, or you’ll lose any remaining players.
Otherwise, turn the game into one of the many pve mmorpgs with instantiated pvp and solve this problem.
