Yes fair. Cause the flagged guys could be killed and they have to run back again - its time. Time is the only resourse that matters.
i wish the gear could be totally broken. That would make crafters created gear to sell and we all could have the gold sink that is very good for economics.
Glad you need a gold sink. come to our small pop server that’s poor where people struggle for gold because we have a low player base. Not everyone has a company to prop them up or can have a constant stream of revenue from OPR/War and the TP on small servers
im glad you have tons of disposable income but many servers are suffering from smaller populations so you speak for a minority.
I think this topic can die now. They are not listening and it’s just us yelling into the void with no response ever going to come. They like the game this way and that’s not changing.
No, literally is used correctly. Don’t try to correct/mock someone’s grammar/use of a word if you know nothing about it.
Thank you come again.
Yes, it is fair. Yes this game was designed for pvp. Yes you are welcome to not flag, or go play minecraft. It’s the PvE community that is ruining this game, IMO. Yes.
I assure you, its an unnecessary redundancy at best and a misusage at worst. It is quite popular to use it in this way in under-educated rural areas, and had you any formal education particular in the manner of public speaking, they’d tell you to “wash your mouth” of such a thing because it reflects intellectual inferiority. People get immediately rejected in interviews for its usage.
I’m not going to sit here and argue with stupid beyond this as my boredom does have its limits.
What this change does is make PVE players unable to join elite farming groups because those groups are now ALL flagged for PVP. Essentially, it’s excluded me from end-game content in any meaningful way.
Amazon won’t like it when a substantial part of their player base, who like PVE content only, disappear to other games because they cannot get groups in the end-game. Oh, and when they do leave, they take their wallets with them…no more cosmetics and now I have no reason to keep amazon prime for the freebie cosmetics either.
Also you can’t flag and group with people from the other faction so I hope you are the dominant faction
Well, I… as a Solo Player feel infinitely more gated because I don’t want to group at all. Make Myrk Soloable, AGS.
Or I’ll leave!
(same energy.)
So, I’ve just carried on playing the game and got on with it and I’ve spent quite a bit of time flagged and you know what?
I think it’s actually made players friendlier.
No, honestly. All it’s resulted in so far, besides one or two fights, was me making new friends, chatting to other flagged solo players who were obviously just doing it for the bonus and… well, most players we meet are just happy to live and let live. And even have a chat while doing it. All friendly stuff, adding as friends and even agreeing to have some duels at some time in the future for fun or even…
Sharing nodes…
That.
Is how you adapt as a PVE player to a change.
And, honestly, the change overall has had a hugely positive impact on how I’ve enjoyed the game. It’s got a whole new facet to it and it actually has meant players actively communicate with each other to make it very clear they do, or do not, wish to fight. if I’m not in the mood, I put my weapons away and /wave. And if they don’t attack, then off we both trot. If they do then that’s just fine too.
Now, compare that to the majoriy of my previous experiences meeting non flagged players and competing for nodes, mob training, weird teabagging behaviour and always, always complete silence.
It’s way better now.
Why not test a PVP Shrine as a way to level also?
So maybe DONT buy cheapest shit for gathering?
Unflag PvP gathering = a -30% gathering nerf. Now you see why some people see it as a nerf., Plus it’s silly to dumb down the game so much that some people “finish” their goals too fast. 30% is just too much of a bonus for any set of players. When people are maxxed out and that carrot on the stick is eaten all up, they get bored and demand new content or just move on.
My advice to the Devs, slow down and stop with all these outrageous bonuses. 30% gathering and even 10% to luck is just too much to fast. Want to make PvP fun, then add systems that make PvP fun. Ranked arenas, special titles maybe even with some tiny bonuses attached to those titles, there’s tons of PvP systems out there to borrow some ideas in other MMOs.
This dead horse, is now a pile of mush.
Here’s my issue with it, as a PvE player:
Gathering IN GENERAL is seen as largely PvE content, as is evidenced by the LEGION of players in OPR who consider gathering resources there as “not PvPing” (even though those resources build base upgrades which help, but whatever.)
The PvErs spend time acquiring/curating gear sets specifically to give boosts for those activities, because PvE content involves a large amount of those activities. Mining sets, logging sets, harvesting sets, skinning sets, luck sets. Takes a lot of bag/storage space, and even if you get maxed out stats on each piece, it gives you 43.8% luck at best, food notwithstanding. Again, this is IF a PVEr has MAXED gathering-luck gear in ALL possible slots, to do an activity that most PvPers agree is absolutely PvE-centric.
So now if you flag for PvP, you automatically get MORE gathering luck - again something that only helps you if you’re doing content that is NOT PvP - than having all slots maxed minus a maxed tool and a maxed amulet. For PvPers, it becomes a passive bonus for content they don’t really do; for PvErs who actually DO that content on a large scale, it becomes an exercise in futility, because if they want their gear’s gathering bonuses PLUS the PvP passive bonus, then they’re obviously not going to be geared for actual PvP fighting in any meaningful way, which simply makes them sitting ducks.
In other words, PvPers are getting MASSIVE passive bonuses for content they largely DON’T do for playing the game in the way they would have been playing it anyways, while PvErs have to put themselves at a huge PvP detriment in order to be more effective at the content they DO participate in. Essentially, by flagging up, PvPers get additional benefits to the playstyle they were already using, and PvErs get double-shafted - first by having to participate in content they DON’T want to do, and secondly by being completely non-geared for that content when it happens. That is a huge imbalance.
Soooo
Dupers keep gear
Exploiters keep levels
Crafters got screwed
Servers dieing before FFXIV expansion
It’s time to shutdown, fix, and relaunch
Mythic games ran a tight ship in pve and pvp/rvr
All it did was force PVE players to feel like PVP flagging is mandatory to min/max crafting/gathering time. Now our entire server is flagged and no one ever PVPs. Either that or you get “hunting parties” of a faction, going around killing people in full luck gear+luck pearls/flagged, to make sure they aren’t wasting their time in game, when farming.
This system needs to be removed, it never should have been added. There MUST be a better way to incetivize PVP than having it relate to luck in any way, shape or form. It definitely can’t be something that’s going to make PVP feel MANDATORY.
