The main question I have here is will this 30% stack on top of the Luck gathering gear, giving these PvP players a possible 55%-60% Luck gain when gathering. If that is true, then this is broken and should be changed to the following to end this pissing match of fair and unfair.
PVE Player: NO FLAG
Full Luck Gathering Gear = 30% bonus
PERK: You are not flagged and can farm in peace.
NEGATIVE: You need farming gear for each type of gathering.
PVP Player: FLAG
Full PVP Gear gets +30% Luck Bonus to Gathering and 10% To looting Chests.
PERK: Can have full Gathering Luck for all forms of gathering without needing Gathering Armor sets.
NEGATIVE: Can be killed in open world reducing effective gathering time.
These are your Pros and Cons that are respectable to have. Nothing feels so out of place, both players get their 30% bonus, and everyone gets to play the game the way they want.
The main factor here is to NOT let PVP Players have the chance to use Gathering Gear and stack the PVP bonus on top of that. 50%+ boost to Luck for gathering is just far to high to expect the PVE community to be ok with it.
The concept here is balance… Give both sides a Pro and a Con, all this change does in it’s current form if the Luck stacks from Gear and being flagged is punish casual pve players and reward pvp players.
The core issue is this will not encourage many players to flag up and gather, what it will do however is encourage players to go out and Gank player in open world trying to min max their Gathering buffs with gathering gear and being flagged.
You guys really need to take a page from Warhammer Online and think about PVP Lakes in zones that have some of the best gathering materials INSIDE those areas that AUTO flag you for pvp when you enter them.
Your Risk / Reward should be based on entering areas of danger, not just being a possible target in the forest for geared and bored players waiting for a OPR que.
