Tanks: Positioning, Taunt, Hold Aggro, Generate Aggro, Take Damage, Block Via Shield.
Dps: Positioning, Crowd Control, Damage, Occasionally take a hit.
So lets talk about the Costs… Tanks have a lot more to lose than Dps when it comes to being staggered or knocked back.
If a Tank loses aggro people die. If a Dps gets hit, it is because of a bad Tank or bad positioning.
Yeah try to sneak that lie in there, and then make 3 “jobs” out of the one job of “hold aggro”
That will totally make it look like you have an argument when you have to artificially inflate the list just to make tanks seem more valuable or something.
A tank getting hit does not make them lose aggro, or much of anything.
If there’s a healer around they’re instantly topped up to 15-17k health.
DPS players aren’t only in PVE and the VAST MAJORITY OF TIMES THEY ARE GETTING HIT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH A TANK.
You keep trying to play this off as a PvE change, when you know it isn’t one.
It doesn’t matter what you call “IT” or if you have to qualify it with “a good tank”.
You are already clearing M10s with the current stat buffs. You don’t need an another buff to do the endgame tanking job that you are already doing with such ease.
You keep pretending you need “more” when you simultaneously say you are doing fine with that you have.
Keep the epithets coming instead of actual arguments that make sense. I’m sure that will win the day.
That’s demonstrably not a change of subject. Its a direct response to your claims in this thread, and that is very clear. You also seem to be unable to address it, so yet again you’re attacking messenger instead of message.
I assume you’re just trying to bury it with more nonsense posts at this point.
Just because We can get by, Does not mean the game is Balanced. We are talking about balancing the game BUT we are speaking from the perspective of Tanks and STR users with attribute bonuses. That is what this thread is about.
So now your massive nerf to strength based melee builds is being misrepresented as “balance”?
A change that breaks an entire archetype of builds in both pve and pvp, is not balanced by a change that makes pve a little easier (if at all) for one specific build.
5% damage buff is a 50 stat point perk already which shows how NOT VALUABLE it is.
Anyone can get it easily = not valuable.
I can indeed call it a nerf and I will because it is one. Stop repeating the same tired nonsense.
Nothing you’ve mentioned is anywhere near the value of a 300 stat point perk. A stacking 10% would still not be close when you can’t get stacks because you’re interrupted all the time doing the only thing you’re supposed to be doing. There is already a stacking perk like that for GA and very few people take it because it’s crap and the way you need to play as a bruiser negates the chances of repeatedly landing attacks to get those stacks up.
You keep acting like these changes you want would only apply to PvE and we know that is a bunch of BS.
Because of the prevalence of CC stuns and roots in PVP where bruisers are actually the most used, you cannot be standing motionless attacking people and “stacking up that buff” or you will get locked down and obliterated in seconds.
Melee DPS does burst damage and then dodges out, and then goes back in and does more burst damage. We don’t stand there clicking over and over, contrary to the lies that people keep telling about the mythical brainless left mouse spammer who is invincible or whatever.
That idea of a bruiser is a nonsense anecdote that doesn’t really occur in this game and hasn’t for months since they nerfed the GA lunge distance to less than the actual length of the weapon.
You keep pretending its all about PvE and conveniently never mentioning the affects of other players on a bruiser, to disguise the massive PvP nerf you want to strength based melee users, but nobody else is laboring under that illusion. Just you.
Difference between a Melee Dps with Grit vs a Melee Dps with 5% Damage increase is 5 % Damage increase or a stackable Dmg up to 10% for 5 Seconds. Jesus.
Not a Nerf.
Guess players will have to change the way they play the class then.
Never said that. But a 5% Damage increase across the board to LA/HA & Abilities would help.
Cleaving 3 People would give you 3 Stacks…
So why would you cry over grit that makes players stand there and spam left click?
Again all you want is more dmg more lunge, might as well give you a 1 Shot ability.
“YOU want” Why keep assuming? Jesus. How how can you say “Just you” when you are the only one fighting in this thread about it.
Assumptions based off of none facts. Check out other threads asking for the same thing.
All these posts you’ve made in multiple threads, hounding me around the forum, surely proves that.
Funny you say you have no issues doing m10 as a tank. Why do you want this change so badly then? All that effort you’ve made surely must be for some reason.
the desync is solved for me so there is no point to putting 300 str for a tank, i play 250 str, 250 con and its fine. The grit will be useless if you play as a tank because you will hold shield up all the time. That’s my point of view
Zelme, please pass on the suggestion for Damage Reflection as 300 CON passive. Grit is not needed for a tank, as they will primarily be holding a shield up and this exacerbates the issue of killing a tank in PvP.
Instead, Damage Reflection can be scaled in two ways: % reflected based on stamina damage taken during blocking (10 damage per 1 stamina) and % of health lost (5-10% of damage taken is reflected to the attacker).
This would be a fix to the issue of tanks not getting damage needed to score in events such as OPR and Wars, as well as getting credit for mobs they are tanking in PvE.
Lmao just remove it and put more damage or other thing istead of grit, crazy people thing this is a fix to the str melee lol they still are going to be use even more then when you add other perk instead of grit, grit isn’t the problem lol you still going to see people using ga and wh because what makes it op are it’s abilities not their str lol then they will be saying to nerf it again xd
Nobody uses tanks in war still because what you need is damage on point to win is not about tanking the point that’s never going to happen with all the damage that we have in the game from weapons….
The abilities are a bit overtuned possibly, but what really makes it op is the fact that someone can stand there swinging a weapon and be immune to all knock backs. This is low skill and very simple to use, while other people need to learn how to perfectly time there abilities and manage to hit some one with them, and all a str user had to do was a regular light attack to dodge it. This is unreasonable
