300 Dex vs. 410 Dex?

Dex users out there, primarily bow, I have a question. Has anyone tested if there’s diminishing returns on damage output past 300 dex going into a glass cannon build such as 410 dex? I’m curious if it’s more advantageous to stick around 300 dex and speccing the rest into con.

I just started messing around with the 300 thresholds, currently I am 317 dex, 100 con with equipment. I can’t give exact numbers but what I can say is its noticeable. Mobs die much faster usually in Ebonscale I can 1 shot or nearly one shot most of the npc’s. Headshots I am critting around 7k with a consistent 6.5k hit. The 7k hits aren’t as common. SHooting from the hip I can get crits around 4k. I am not in legendary gear yet so I imagine with a buff to gear and foods and potions/tinctures and what not it will only get better.

I have heard people say over 300 doesn’t do anything and I have heard people say it does. All I can say is that previous to 300 dex I was not performing the way my character is now. Hope that helps.

i have almost 400 dex and i cannot do more tan 1k…

Sorry to hear that are you shooting them in the head? What kind of arrows do you use? Do you use foods and potions/tinctures and such?

My average hit shooting from the hip is normally around 2300, when I head shot the consistent hit is roughly 6.5k with an occasional 7k hit. Occasionally shooting from the hip I have had a 4k hit.

What kind of equipment do you use?

yes there are diminishing returns after your first 100 points in a stat that then diminish more and more every 50 points the lowest return rate on damage per point is after 300

source : Some picture showing the diminishing returns in a picture my friend sent me. May or may not be accurate.

Im really having a hard time understanding things…

I can see people are apparently 1 hitting mobs in ebonscale etc, However, I am I have a musket with 300 Dex, 100 Intelligience for the 10% crit dmg, also because the number on the right showing my musket damage was actually higher putting some into intelligience thna purely dex…

I have beast bane, I have 3 basic wild life trophiies, and pristine cut onyx yet I can’t 1 hit mobs in ebonscale? :S infact, Unless I am using a perk i often can’t 2 hit them either.

I tired the intelligence at 100 but found it difficult to stay alive, so I switch to 300 dex with gear and points and out the rest in con. It seems to have done the trick for me in terms of dps. Now to be fair I did say I can one shot in ebonscale or nearly one shot, which infers that I am not consistently one shotting them, but it is about 50/50. My bow out performs my rifle here. The rifle needs a buff I think because it is not comparable to the bow in terms of damage.

I don’t know if int is what you should invest in, as it is rifles secondary isn’t it? I would think capping to 300 dex would beef your dps up, but as I mentioned I do tend to think Rifle is weak compared to bows. I do however use the rifle because I like the snare capability it has of holding npc’s in place and the grenade!

Whatever the case is I hpe you can figure it out.

I believe bow does more damage than musket and only scales on dex.

I’m running almost 350 dex with 50 con and really hoping to get to 400 dex. I notice more damage but it definitely has a soft cap

What is confusing is if i look at a bow and then musket the Musket damage is actually higher… but it seems it isn’t in reality like that :expressionless:

TBH, I just want to be able to go out with my skinning gear and 1 hit majority of beasts when hunting for hides… but it seems its near impossible…

I run 300 dex, 100 con. I only use dex weapons. I usually run bow/spear switching to musket/rapier if I know I will pvping. I keep a hatchet in my bag as well.
