365 hours in... well worth the money

New World has a LOT of problems. I think that is at least one statement most of us can agree on. New World has a lot of design issues, a lot of bugs, a lot of exploits, etc.

I preordered the $50 deluxe edition and started playing about 5 min after my server launched. And you know what? I got my monies worth. I have taken my time, explored all over the place, just got to level 57, did some PvP, did a lot of PvE, did some expeditions, etc. At 365 hours in, I have spent approximately $0.13/hour to be entertained. For me it was well worth it.

I think NW has a lot of growing pains to make it through. I think it has an identity crisis that needs to be addressed. It needs some work addressing the PvE vs the PvP element. It needs more content for both. It has economy issues… and… well… a whole host of things.

However, I have enjoyed it enough that I am willing to wait for these issues to be addressed. I am willing to see what the first major DLC will bring. I am even willing to begin again with a full reset if that is the direction the game decides to go.

A lot of people went in thinking the game was going to be PvP focused and were disappointed. A lot of people went in thinking the game was going to be PvE\Crafting focused and were disappointed.

My expectation going into the beta were far simpler. I wanted to be a PIRATE. I started playing and I realized I was a PIRATE ZOMBIE KILLING MACHINE!! Hellz yeah!! I preordered that day.

So thank you to Amazon Games and our neighborhood devs for trying to make that happen. Thank you to the community for being so active and involved.

I hope the game makes it through this current “crisis” and emerges on the other side with a better game.

Hope to see you there me matey’s! Arrgh!

Oh, and by the way Amazon if… if you happen to read\see this… if you add Crazy Drunken Ninja Monkeys to the game… I don’t think I would ever stop playing…
