Preach.
two view botting youtubers btw. no one cares what these 2 randoms have to say. they dont represnt the playerbase at all
Sure we can. Its just a game. Treat it as such and you wont worry so much.
I dont think the problem is just have new content, the average New World player only plays 2h daily, even to farm in PVE is very bad, because you can only use the compass to do so, otherwise you need to open external website or memorize the routes and fight against bots.
There’s no tools to measure the DPS in Dungeons or other tools to make the player experience more convenient.
The addition of 3x3 was good, but mass pvp like OPR is very bad due to long range DPS and unbalanced teams, we really need 5x5 and 10x10 to help players to learn the dynamic of pvp in group.
The whole reward system is like lootbox system. Open chests, pvp trail and crafting are like gamble all the time.
No weapon reworks/balance?
Pvp content?
Mounts/barbershop/bank sorting?
Basic QoL things like gear sets and transmog being things being held up as big roadmap goals pushed into the summer of next year, makes people nervous and back out, and the numbers are showing this.
AGS needs to focus on the things that players actually need to play the game. Music, seasonal events, and skins take a backseat to combat balance, QoL improvements, PvP, and content replayability, things that the game should have launched with.
The majority of the playerbase in 2021 was PvPers. But most PvPers went their own way shortly after January 2022. I’m willing to bet PvEers have been the lion share of New World’s population since at least May 2022. Just look at the state of OPR and Arena queue times on the majority of servers for proof.
This is one of the bigger reasons New World is losing players fast. There is very little if any entertaining PvE content. All that PvE content is in New World is just a simple gear check. Which gets very old after a week of two for mainstream MMO fans.
The best that we can expect if this trend continues. Is that AGS put New World into full maintenance mode. Actually, technically speaking judging from the past few updates and new roadmap, it kind of is already.
It’s hard to consider New World a PvE either. Because of the lack of PvE content. But do you know what New World put heavy emphasis on? Grinding so you can grind so you can grind some more so you can just LMB your way through the game, in both PvE and PvP.
They’re literally not capable of fixing simple combat related bugs like Netshot shooting straight into the ground or Incinerate applying only one DoT instead of four for literally two and half months, and you expect them to change their entire roadmap.
If anything they should re-evaluate their development approach as a whole and finally try to show some f*ckin sense of urgency when it comes to seriously balancing combat and fixing crucial bugs. The game has been in a horrible state for months and they seem to have absolutely no idea that thats the case riding the fresh failure hypewave.
It’s honestly just a shame, this game has all the potential in the world and these soulless developers just let it rot away.
The game had potential and it was squandered. Now it is what it is.
Playerbase will always bump up with new content for people who enjoy the basis for a game. (that is 80% of the new generation gamers menthality, you play a new game, you buy your way to progress and brag you gotten this far and move to next game). Cringe, sad they dont realise how much fun they skip but it is what it is…
Also timegated content like the change they did with Wars, fine shells was an issue, but that could be solved in so many ways i give you a better example than gating content to 1 pr. day here:
Let 10 mercs only in both attack and defence (mercs HAS to be from SAME faction), make the cooldown on joining a war after joining a new company for 72 hours.
- We stopped some company jumpers, coz they will loose content.
2.We fixed shelling, coz it will simply just not be possible. - people can still play the content they enjoy
- You will have more active companies coz less people can sit in smaller companies and just “merc” for others.
What they have done to a LARGE segment of the playerbase, lets compare:
If you play the game for war only: you play PVE, you play Arena, OPR and you play Wars coz its needed to improve / get gear etc. etc.(apart from the people who buy progress). Only coz the forum is not booming of players that play the game for wars, they dont count this playerbase that big, but they will realise that more than 60% of the active playerbase the for the past 6months have ben war enjoyers. So timegating their content like this = make them leave the game
imagine if you played the game for crafting, and you where only allowed 1 craft pr. day?? ![]()
Imagine if you played the game for OPR, and you where only allowed 1 OPR pr. day??
Can keep going…
Fix the issues AGS but stop the timegating crap, it will lead to nothing but a failure… So unless failure is what you are aiming for remove the timegates and fix the issues in different ways!
Merry christmas everyone
In Lost Ark I see only more bots xd they have not solved this problem since released. But at all for sure there is more players than in NW xd currently the biggest problem is terrible server merges system … people cant play their content… and it again looks like they just gave up.
NW is grindy ? Really ? Everything you get almost instantly ? Ok exepct battle trophies but we must have something what is worth more than 2k xd Lost Ark is real true Korean Grinder at has more players so argument is wrong.
I agree, a game like this and seeing that people create a new character 3 days later the character is full “BIS / leg” and 625GS, duo to gold sellers and the fact that everyone can just buy everything they need from others. That makes the game “quickly done” for allot of players ontop of the other issues like ive previous posted.
Game is too easy I agree at least for big MMO players it will be insanely easy… for casuals well for casual players every MMO is hard… they always complain. Now main problem imo is terrible merge system managment I ame back to my main character, because since around 20th November content on Jupiter FSS is dead …
Yep that is tho the PVE aspect, i dont rly enjoy the PVE that much. I do it coz its needed for my content, but i joined the game back in alpha etc. and i joined coz it was a PvP game. I am still looking for my PvP content to get improved and sadly the only changes i see is they are limiting my content to once pr. day

Now i will for sure spend less time in your game, and i have 4.8k hours in this game
There is a difference between grindy, and actually having a fun progression.
The grindy aspect of NW, is not very enjoyable. It can be very VERY boring. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind grinds. I came from freaking runescape. Have you ever chopped a tree or fished for several weeks straight, non stop? I have…lmao. Have you ever killed the same boss 2k+ times for a single drop? I have…
HOWEVER, these days, people don’t really want grindy grindy games.
OP nailed it for me. Been playing way less after the roadmap + follow up video where they doubled down telling us all they aren’t planning any new PVP maps/modes. Combine this with their refusal to perma ban exploiters/cheaters and its hard to want to log in and do more of the same OPR / 3v3…which are still full of premades in both modes vs solo que players.
New world went from my number 1 game for 12 months to loging in now and then to do a few pvp arena’s,
After seeing the lack of pvp updates on the roadmap and how the devs answer/dodge pvp questions,
All hope is lost
What is in having fun progression in Lost Ark by doing daily 2 chaos dungeons where everything die after you pressed 1 button ? Ok Guardian Raids can be but its same boss over n over. Raids time gated once per week. No I have never been killing same mobs for hour to get 1 drop in my 15 years MMO experiance waste of time. Here esp. I will just buy for money I eanred in a way I wanted.
This is it EXACTLY, it’s a cultural shift with the newer younger generation of gamer’s (born in the 00’s if not 10’s). They come from other games that give instant gratification and New World does not give instant gratification to them, so they get bored quick. Valorant, Apex, Fortnite, Roblox, LoL, GTAV, CoD and the likes all allow you to play for 1-2hrs, feel like you’ve accomplished what you wanted or give you the feeling of it anywho and that’s what people are used to.
I’ve been playing MMO’s with the same group of people for the last 15 almost 20 years now. We started back with Lineage 2, then moved to Aion, Tera, Archeage, Black Desert, Archeage Unchained and now New World. The grind in those previous MMO’s was fun, rewarding and there wasn’t a lot of ways to “buy” your way to the top outside of Archeage which was a VERY obvious P2W game.
I never played WoW or any of the Final Fantasy MMO’s, but I hear the dungeons in Final Fantasy are some of the best there are. WoW has grinds for mounts that people WANT and NEED to get because it’s what they love, it’s also been a staple for as long as it is because it’s been doing something right. I absolutely LOVED the dynamic combat in Tera, probably one of my favorite PvE games due to how well the AI was done and the fighting mechanics within the game. Lineage 2 was an unbearable grind if you played retail, but the feeling of accomplishment was there once you finally got all the recipe’s for an armor set and could have someone craft it for you to get that BiS gear for your level which. They ruined that with the big revamp 10 years ago though so now it is easy mode and you hit end game content almost instantly compared to the months or years you had to play to hit it previously.
New World has a grind, but it isn’t nearly as bad as other games have been, but not nearly as easy as some games are now. The issue too is the attention span of people has gone WAY down over the generations and it shows. Your video longer than 2 minutes? Lots of people won’t make it to the end before moving on or skipping through. You have to farm these mobs for 2-3 hours to get some rare gear to drop, hardly worth their time in their eyes. An MMO now-a-days isn’t what an MMO was years and years ago sadly. An MMO also has never been PvP focused, it’s been PvE focused and PvP has been a side-effect of everyone needing to get it done. World raid bosses causes open world PvP if these rid bosses drop REALLY rare BiS items. 1 person out of 50-100 gets the items and it brings the urge to come back and try to get it again, but you can only do it once a twice a day.
PvP focus MMO’s lack a LOT of PvE content, but strictly focus on the player engagement and balance. It seems with new world, the amount of DPS you need to shred through mobs with hundreds of thousands of HP in a group of 5, put it out of balance in a PvP environment and the cause of it is healers that are too strong, or burst damage that is too strong which causes battles to either last forever, or end almost instantly depending on the balance of DPS to healer ratio and who can burst down the other team first or catch healers off guard.
New World is also the first MMO I’ve played that have snuck in a hitscan weapon in with 12 projectile weapons and made it one of the hardest hitting weapons in the game. Then introduced ANOTHER short range hitscan weapon knowing many PvPers didn’t like the way hitscan was in the game to begin with. It’s like they didn’t care at all about their thoughts on the subject and are on doing their own agenda despite the health that it creates in the PvP systems. And I’m not even big into PvP and can see this being an avid PvE goer.
So sorry for the wall of text, but there just SO MUCH that can be talked about regarding the game and how it can be improved by looking at what has succeeded in the past and bringing it to a new level, vs trying to implement things that aren’t widely known to work and brute forcing them into a situation where they probably shouldn’t be to begin with. I REALLY want the game to succeed, but with the population dwindling, devs mentioning they would rather see FS servers die than to merge them, and the lack of ENGAGING content with PvP and PvE, it really makes it hard to stay on board. I think the best thing Amazon could do at this point is t focus their development on backend bug fixing, optimization, and push more resources into their environment and sound teams to really get their lumberyard engine in a place to where other more successful and innovative companies can use it to their advantage to make MMO’s or PvP games that really shine with it’s technology.
