50 players hold whole map / siege system

I don’t fully agree with you with this: “put at least 50-75% of roster from own member”. Company have town and they must fully defend own town. For solo players its motivation to join company, because you play MMOrpg not RPG.

Core problem about rotation, that 50 strong players can ruin a server.
For example its was in Alastor server, when company “EDEN” grow up and get 50 strong players and professional commander. They hold 90% territories in server and compay “Game Story” with 300+ players couldn’t do anything. At the beginning was a good motivaion to win a strong enemy, but after thirty lost sieges in a row, people lose motivation.

I realy think that cooldown/recovory time to participate in sieges, good solution.

But a lot of MMORPG games with siege/terriory wars have fixed siege time.
Yes, its make inconvenience for some players, but it’s solve a lot of problems.
Any way for europe zone main prime time its evening.

Why 300 average players should win vs 50 very good players with good commander? If you want to win, get better in game. Simple as that. Only issue is that this 50 players can hold many provinces when in reality they could hold 2 max - and only untill they are forced to fight 2 wars same time. So fact they own 300 average players is not a problem at all.

I dont mean that average players should win 50 strong players. I want to pay attention that 50 strong players can create a lot of companys and chose diferent siege time.
In fact, its doesnt mater are you have 1000 players in company or only 50 players.

Bump.
AGS should add some restrictions on who can declare wars, maybe then the whole shell company issue will be alleviated slightly.

  • at least have 25+ members in the company before being able to declare a war
  • have a 5-7 day company change restriction to prevent people jumping to shell companies to push influence just to swap to another shell company in an hour or two
  • players who have left and joined a new company should have a 24 hour cooldown for INFLUENCE being counted towards the new company they have just joined.

this has been going on for way too long, and ends up killing every server it happens on.

Anyway, in theory it remains that 50 people can go from siege to siege. Because the head of the roster can choose who he wants.

You don’t even need to change company to go on a siege. In any case, a cooldown to participate in sieges can solve this problem.

I think the slogan fits here very well:

“If you want to capture more cities/territories, you must have enough people to capture and hold them”

For example:
If you have in company 100+ active players. 50 of them, strong players holds Windsward or Everfall (the capital of Aeternum) one of this. Other 50 weaker players holds First Light (where they can practice in siege and get skill to be in core strong team).

But not so that 50 players hold towns/territorys for the whole company. This kills all the beauty of the MMORPG.

Just add that a player can only do 1 defence and 1 attack each day. You can also add the cooldown to rejoin a company.

I don’t agree with this system. This systems can make empty siege roasters.

For example:
Day 1:
DEF - Windsward
ATT - Ebonscale

Day2:
DEF - Windsward
ATT - Reekwater
Ebonscale - empty roaster

Day 3:
DEF - Windsward
ATT - Monarch
Reekwater - empty roaster

Dont forget the “invasions” it close the siege window.

This issue is especially observed on servers with medium and low online

Just apply a war debuff for like a few hours, so you can’t just go into every single war?

To get Developers attention, we need more like in this topic and more replays.
They should see this issue bothering most players, not only small group of players.

I think this topic has been raised multiple times but as the same usual reply is given. Shell companies is an issue where same people from same companies own multiple territories which increases the gap in competiveness between PVP companies/players, wars are considered a premium content where u gotta be considered ‘the best of the best’ to be in the 50.

This is something that needs to be addressed soon. Alot of suggestions have been given and i am surprised nothing is being look into or implemented until now.

This siege system what we have right now, kills all the beauty of MMORPG. In addition to 50 strong players can participate in sieges without a cooldown. Very frequent sieges lose interest in them and you don’t take them as seriously.

For example, I have been playing Lineage 2 for many years. In this game, castle sieges are held once every 2 weeks and have a fixed time. Your attitude towards sieges is completely different, you wait, you crave, you prepare, you get a million emotions after the siege.

Shell companies gaming the war system is bad for the game period. It limits player participation for the content. It is in AGS’s interest to have a system that promotes participation instead of limiting it.

Can we have the result of the review or at least an actual answer or roadmap for this. Also, just take note that Shell companies is only one of the issues for wars. Other issues like larger companies in diff factions working together to dominate the map and not attacking each other leaving the 3rd faction in a bad situation. War declare sniping is also an issue.

Also, please increase gold cap for players as a lot of players currently have to leave their current company and make their own to store their gold.

Anyway, i have raised my concerns and alot of other ppl have as well. If things are not being addressed as soon as possible, we all know what is gonna happen… which i guessed has already happened anyway because things never get addressed fast enough.

I agree that a rework is probably required to stop shell companies turning the entire map theirs for one thing it turns the server stale and encourages players to leave. As to what can be done I don’t have the answer. A cooldown on war participation might help but only to stop the same people from participating in all the wars and companies could easily spread out their siege windows to accommodate the cooldown timer if it is only say 30 to 60 mins. If you limit any longer than that then you will only discourage PvP players from playing.

Siege-Invasion is the way they intended it to work out so that it is not all PvP all the time. As much as the PvP players would love this there is no way PvP 24/7 is healthy in this game and if that is what you are looking for then maybe your more of a MOBA player than you think! This game is meant to be played in balance with PvE. In order to play PvP you have to do some PvE.

personally I like PvE more than PvP but I do participate in PvP when it comes around.

As far as the influence is concerned I currently see no issue with the way the system works currently I would like to see more focus on gaining influence for players however to tie it to a timeslot will stop people from being able to push on zones simply because there is a timeslot for activity that will grant players the opportunity to resist. Not a bad thing you might say but it only leads to stale servers if no progress can be made.

TLDR:
I like it in part but have no real solution myself.
