5Con Can't get an invite to M10

M10 is mostly about speed… light armor does … I think 30% more damage than heavy…

I’m not saying it’s right… just that it is the conventional wisdom…

Due to fortify changes this may be shifting some.

I’m not 100% up to speed on current metas since the update but heavy for dps is usually a no no. There’s a lot of damage fall off after 300str that’s why most of the PVErs wear light and I don’t think those boys are doing 5con anymore outside of maybe laz and gen.

I see a lot of groups doing medium 50-100con now.
And outside of a speed run there is zero reason to run less than 50con as the damage gained doesn’t outweigh losing potion efficiency.

Ffs…even with 100 cons, light dps still got 1 hit by almost all mobs at laza…i don’t understand why people still looking for it

When looking at a list of players, not knowing any of them, I might prefer a CON 50 over a 5, no matter the armor type. You need an excellent healer or mad combat skills to play con 5.

So looking at 50-100 con, With light amour.

And GA/WH that are all str(506) do less damage than split stat weapons in the face of the mob’s?

There are multiple issues with your setup that’s causing people to reject you. Without seeing your gear, these are the red flags:
Heavy is an instant reject.
100 con is pushing it in light. I typically wouldn’t want someone with more than 50 con.
WH/GA isn’t a great combo. Neither are huge damage. Either one is fine for an off-hand, but I’d prefer a hatchet/spear/GS for main hand.
You lose out on massive damage bonuses when you run all strength, for example:

  • 200 dex gives you a 20% bonus on rogue damage
  • 50 int gives you a 10% bonus damage on crits.

Given you’re hopefully doing most of your damage as backstab, either of these are huge benefits, over an extra 200 strength.

Ty Haakor.

So light armour does more dps than heavy in pve a face to face melee smack a mob…

is that damage counted in seconds alive or who dies first, face 2 face mob bashing?

Typically as a melee DPS you would be behind the mobs backstabbing them and not facetanking.

Thank you yipperyapper.

That is very useful, not really tried the split stats, As its not obvious that would be better than a pure 1 stat build. built around 1 stat weapons(str).

Pointe.

Behave…

Heavy armor has poor mitigation compared with the light’s full dodge mitigation.
It’s an endless debate on this cursed game.
Anything on light armor outperforms other builds, be it on damage, or avoiding damage, there’s no way around. No matter how good you are, wearing light provides the easy disengage/avoid damage that no other armor has due distance/speed on the dodges.

I thought I was being pretty tame lol

Yep as other indicated, light armor. For Laz this week, sun lord set is BIS, then add pieces with weapon perks. Or it was BIS not sure now with fortify nerf. I’ve not had an issue so far this week.

Recent testing indicates in ideal conditions Rapier, then GS has most DPS, then Spear. I hate the GS and have no Rapier perks, so Spear for me. GA and WH are not very good as DPS weapons. I used to be GA/Hatchet in pretty much all expeditions prior to 300 str grit nerf.

You should always have at least 50 dex for the 50dex crit bonus, particularly for GA.

I run very similar min-maxed as GA/WH melee in invasions waves 1-6 then switch to hatchet/WH to use hatchet on bosses. If you have strength based gear then using hatchet as main could be the best option. Above 300 strength you are much better off putting attribute points into dex. 300s/200d, then you get the backstab bonus from the dex. Should be hitting for 3-5k light attacks easy. 3k with no empowers, sometimes higher than 5k depending on other empowers etc.

When I run DPS in dungeons I am spear/GA, spear/hatchet, GA/hatchet. For laz this week I am spear/GA, light armor, 200s/250d/65c. GA is off weapon for grav/maelstrom clump and dump and I have enfeelbing maelstrom on GA so huge damage mitigation. Bleeds from spear are crazy and great for bosses. I did get one-tapped downed in Cilia at 20 stacks, mainly because I forgot my ward potions.

Thank you DrHoon.

Few things there to try. going to have to give Light a try.
Really like the roleplay Heavy Knight role, It’s a shame its only good for tanking.

Check out M11 website. The builds make sense.

Back when I was playing more seriously I stopped abiding by all the Tyrants who impose you to link all gear.
I made my own groups, filling faster than other listings, and encouraging people to join M10 freely.
Guess what, 80% of the time (no exaggeration) it went smoothly and we had fun, people knew strats and we were getting gold/silver each time. It used to fill up my friend list.

I hated the arrogance and hypocrisy of “elitist” group makers, some of them calling themselves “pro certified” (no joke here) so much that I once asked one of them to let me tour the houses of all other group members to check if they had the right trophies tier 3 hanged.

Remember, its a game where until M9 you don’t even need gems…

While I used to do some pugs it was always annoying to as you never know what you will get barring meeting a few peeps now n then that can go on your firend list for being good players in muts.

Smoothiest runs is when you run with a static or semi static group of peeps from your friends list or company and then there no BS about linking gear etc. Its how I farmed most of my muts named gear and after some runs you can get pretty confident and even carry some fresh 60 to help them start learning and farming the muts. You need to take initiative though and be pro active IMO.

Usually if the tank of our group and myself told peeps on company chat we were keen on running muts our group filled up with occasionally calling in 1 person from our friend list that we have run muts with before.

Pugging is kinda meh and more for meeting new players or for when you wanna try and help new ones and have lots of time to waste.

You were, @Tribune is just being overly sensitive, probably because he cannot get invited to M10’s.

Thanks for the effort responding guy’s.

Part of it is wanting to be learn and be good, And I understand the helping stranger’s bit has wasted alot of my time also with ppl’s that don’t reciprocate, move on, or just stop playing.

It’s all about getting a group of friends or switching to more of the accepted meta classes for pugs.
