6 minute OPR victory. Testing out a new build

SS Gaxe was my main for opr/arenas until they nerfed SS. The mobility with leaping strike/charge/bloodlust, plus the stuns/slows/pulls, made it great for chasing down runners. I’d usually start a combo with leap bash, then when they try to run, charge/reap/grav well. I’m sure SS is still viable post nerf, but it was past due for me to try new builds anyway.

Yeah I know about the nerf so I guess I am quite lucky that I never tried it out while it was so strong. For me it still feels really great right now.

I played great axe / sword from lvl 1-50 and then i swapped to fs/rapier. but at lvl 60 I played heavy armor gaxe/sns for about 1-2 months. I was always trying to achieve a high mobility high dps build but I just could never make the sword really work out for me. But I was a bit more nooby back then as well.

This build is everythign I wanted back then haha. So I’m having a blast. It’s a nice change from being a ranged player as well.

it looks to me like you got a lobby full of noobs lol

Noooo… What have you done Jiggy? You left Syndicate? Foræder :stuck_out_tongue:

Cool vid tho, so you done with FS/BB now?

I’ve never been syndicate man :stuck_out_tongue: wdym.

And no I’m never really done with any build. Idea is to just gather up several good loadouts so I can switch it up a bit.

aah lol. i dunno why but you was always purple in my eyes :stuck_out_tongue:

I am considering making the switch these days. Purple is the only faction I havent been in so far

Interesting that you use charge reap and whirlwind.

I prefer charge, grav well and reap.

Don’t think I could use and axe without its best ability.

I take it you rock 311 str and 200 con or do you go something else?

What perks do you use?

I have a friend who I just helped kit out to use SnS and axe assassin. So asking to help him.

I made sure he had insatiable grav well on armour, 3 freedom, 5 resil and 1 shirking energy. Got him to use the hook and a thwarting and attunement sword. Any tips?

So the idea with reap, charge and whirlwind is to just give me a ton of mobility and chase potential. Its basically impossible to get locked down with this build.

Grav is too easy to dodge and you will never catch the light armor users with it. Whirlwind is surprisingly good I really dont get why people dont use it more. it does nasty damage and lets you keep 100% movement speed even if you are slowed and such. also lets you get out of hard CC like ice wall if Im not wrong and is a beast at keeping pressure on enemies.

There is just no escape from this build.

I am just using random pieces for this build atm. I got 5x resil. 1x shirking energy 1x shirking fort. rest is random perks like shirking healing etc. Nothing to mention.
On my sword I got the pvp backstab perk, vicious and keenly empowered. On the axe I got just keen and vicious and insatiable grav well, but I dont use grav.

Running 200 con 304 str in this video.

I just wanted something that is a mix of a bruiser and assasin. Something that lets me have diversity and can be more dynamic. But I want to be in light armor so I can still deal good damage. Its pretty hard to survive on my own in 1vX with this build and ranged are a big problem. Especially bows and muskets if theres a lot of them. But I just love being able to kill people so damn quickly. Even healers cannot survive against this build.

If I have a pocket healer or playing with a team then this build is naasty.

You could at least mention Whelps who presented this build on YT in your video

He is mentioned in the description mate

Looks like enemy team was full of fresh level 60 with 520 GS.

Its funny to watch you just rush inside people when u got ur pocket heal behind you, and when he’s not healing u just run away… Awesome gamplay, thx for sharing this.

Hehe yeah this isn’t a super strong 1vX build. You have to wear 5 light pieces to roll with a shield so this definitely works best when fighting in a group.

But what i like about it is how you can dip in and out so easily. Let’s you apply a ton of pressure on the enemies and then dip out to heal up or reset aggro from enemy players and then jump back in again.

AGS should step up a bit their bots in Easy difficulty mode. 3 shots archers who never do a roll is too much to watch :frowning:

My apologies, I see that

Imagine both of them getting mentioned while whelpss video is 5 days old and meanwhile me even before them :frowning:

Let’s hope melee gets used more! Ranged meta is getting very stale. It’s still 80% bows in most oprs i play… hopefully the GS will switch things up a bit

No problem

Whirlwind is the most fun I had with that weapon.

People have been sleeping on whirlwind. I love it too
