60 Musket User here, 575 GS (Light Crafted), all PVP all the time…

So, I play Musket / Rapier and run Outpost pretty much non-stop…

I don’t need to add much to the Heavy Armor / Healer / Hatchet / CC spam fest…

Just a few thoughts…

I die about 4 - 5 times and usually end up at 4-10 kills, with 400k damage. Im by no means the best, but I hold my own.

What I am frustrated by, is having spent countless hours getting Armor and Engineering up to 200 and Jewelcrafting to 165 so that I can be ahead of the curve in PVP only to lose all that advantage because literally, light PVP faction armor mitigates damage better that my custom 580+ crafted armor… and I Proc’d a +29 Dex 599 Musket with Keenly Jagged and an Onyx Gem after getting my crafting window to 575-600, and I literally hit med / Heavy mages for like 800 damage in the head. Healers don’t even move when I am 20 feet away repeatedly shooting their head with Power Shot / Powder burn because I can’t damage them fast enough…

If you are going to make us stop and reload, and take away our ability to switch to a secondary while reloading (if we wait too long) and give us an incredibly high skill cap to hit moving headshots when player animations and “combat sticking” mechanics teleport people and have little fluidity, can you at least please reward us for our efforts in crafting and landing near impossible headshots, while dodge rolling out of gravity wells and hammer stuns?

I’m getting pretty damn good at surviving (thanks to rapier!) but, shooting people in the head for 600 damage with a 599 Musket 250 Dex / 150 Int build and every dang crit modifier I can get in the tree and on gear; is incredibly discouraging.

Everyone has 591 softcap watermark, and I am grinding my face off to get crafting up only to not only have it be worthless (unless every piece proc’s crit reduction) but also lose the advantage I should have from getting literally everything to 200 but fishing, furniture, jewelcrafting and arcana…

How hard is it to fix this crit thing so I at least know how much time I wasted going custom light gear Musket / Rapier?

Shouldn’t take more than a couple days to get yourself a set of that.

I have a set of it, but all it does is keep me from dying a little less… it forces Con, has far less attribute points than I can get on 580+ gear, and does nothing to fix my damage numbers… in fact, I stay in my 580 gear because I can get more damage from more attributes, and without that, I’m shooting a water gun.

Completely agree, I spent countless hours getting 200 in several trade skills, only to discover it costs me ~5k coins to craft a piece of 590-600 GS gear that is beaten by a 525 faction armor piece.

Hopefully a fix to resilience & a nerf to heavy armor, alongside adding the resilience crafting mod, will help to fix this.

I just wish they can improve the musket, too weak for now, people will just stand there even how much you headshot them,

Yes, so? I farmed that gear on a single Saturday. Whereas I’ve spent 200+ hours getting 200 trade skills, and then 50k+ coins rolling 590-600 GS gloves, none of which rolled a perk relevant to my build.

You’re very devoted, considering it takes 4 hours non-stop to farm 50k PvP tokens. And that’s just one weapon…

Then you get to toss in 2,000 gold as well.

Clearly you haven’t gotten one or even two of the main crafting professions to 200 if you think 1 day of grinding 8k gold and some faction tokens is comparable. And just in case you do, I have 3 pieces of the 60 PVE, 4 of the light PVP, 2 of the heavy PVP and 200 Armoring / 200 Engineering, 3 sets of minor trophies, all the +2 Armor pieces for engy, Armor, Jewel, and I spent weeks… WEEKS, farming trees, ore, fiber… literally if I pick up one more hemp plant, I’ll puke…

I do. No reason to go getting all hostile, I don’t see how I’ve said anything that warrants umbrage. One way or another it’s a lot of work.

Funny thing is, if/when the devs somehow listens and nerfs light armor, what do you think will happen?

The worst weapon in the game is musket that developers don’t care musket players and servers are laggy or high latency by the server itself (they need to fix it as soon as possible but it is already +1 months…) - even you have good internet and computer - you cannot do well in pvp at this game… This is very discouraging really…

You just had to be a metaslave. Or rather, exploit slave. Just roll whatever glitched weapon & gear class you can in the current patch and you’re a-OK. Balancing patches won’t come any time soon, as I might have read from a staff member. Their priority is getting rid of those bugs which seem to be on a loop right now, considering 3 of those pop every patch fixing 1.

We musket users just have to trust our aiming after thousand of hours in fps lol, might take a while since there’s a lot of bugs

I know this was said but i have to repeat it because there’s not even a SLIGHT comparison. If comparing getting faction gear to getting engineering/armoring to 200, then you have no idea. Literally none. And if it is taking you 4 hours to get 50k faction, you are doing something wrong. 1.5 hours max without bonuses of the day. To get 200 engineering would cost like roughly 100k gold if not more and not including time to craft/salvage/manage storage space. That’s just to get to the lvl requirement to roll a high gear score musket. Then you have to roll/gamble for a musket to get the correct damage perks with every roll costing multiple 1000s of gold. That’s just for the musket too not even counting armoring. And even when you do get what you want, you’re STILL a wet noodle and the squishiest player on the field.

Musket damage is just god awful right now. And every faction gear has crit reduction on 520 gs faction armor that just makes the musket literally even more of a water gun. 599 gs musket with ori bullets should be hitting hard especially when you can get 1 shot by practically every1 on the field.

Being full dext or dext/int build and still feel like a wet noodle in terms of damage is disheartening. Especially when people can stand still getting headshot repeatedely and their health bar not moving. If it does move it’s because they are a healer and they just gonna do a self heal and wullah! Full health again.
