If you think after you have a 599 BIS amulet the logical next step is to upgrade it 600 you are honestly very ignorant to high end gearing in this game.
WHy would I be ignorant? There are players who did 200 Lazarus runs to get BiS 600gs items. Why should we invalidate the work of these top players just because a large group of lazy other players want that as well but for free? What is the point of an MMO without competition?
If we all get 625 gs items, it will be a very boring game to play, no competition and no amount of effort will feel rewarding.
YOu’re the ignorant one, asking only what fits your own needs, while dismissing what other players have put it to get to 600 gs.
Prolly a voidbent pve’er. Not affected by the changes.
You really think people shouldn’t be able to upgrade <600 gear, even if that means higher costs for these people? Can’t get any more selfish than that. GG
I have 530 gs overall. I just express my objective point of view, with respect towards the players that invest alot of time into the game. I don’t go on the forum asking for free stuf and latch unto whatever gains friction in that direction.
If this request will be taken seriously, it will only prove that the game has no need for developers, since the players can destroy the game as they please.
Bit of positivity here just for all of us…
They have proven they are very willing to listen to the community between the PTR and the actual update. Things could change drastically or be tweaked heavily, we don’t know. Also the patch details were exactly that, not notes. Once we get the full detailed notes then we can discuss more in depth on what the changes will actually do. They kinda glossed over most of it and it was this way on the last PTR.
Sorry, your “objective pov” is objectively wrong. Are you honestly saying that everyone who was unlucky (rng - rings a bell?) and had to go with 599 as his personal “bis” should basically be robbed of his progress?
They are very silent tbh. That’s all.
You won’t be robbed of your progression. You’ll still be at 599 where you belong and keep your trash items. There’s no such thing as bad luck in MMOs, only deserved progression per hour played.
This is just not true. Even if it was, what do you think is a reasonable amount of time played to have the best gear in the game?
That’s such a difficult question to even approach, because if you name a number too high, then you alienate anyone who doesn’t want to play the game like a job and risk sinking the game. (Don’t be naive if a game doesn’t make money it will stop being produced.)
If you aim too low you take away an important sense of achievement for the MMO genre.
I’m frustrated that it’s so hard to get anything but trash items. Yeah. That’s a valid frustration. Like, do you want the game to succeed or do you just wanna go “haha look at my cool stuff that you can’t have.” Children.
i hope you do realize that i only parodized the guy above.
Besides the unbelievable stupidity to introduce the third GS system within the first 6 months after release this new system is coming way to early.
Most people aren’t even close to 600. Those who where able to grind before gypsum might be further. Everyone else is stuck in a time gated system.
That doesn’t mean that I dislike a system which allows you to upgrade existing gear instead of getting new gear after every GS raise.
It’s just that this is coming way to early.
I do understand that hardcore players need something to do and introducing a grind system is the easiest way to do this.
But this will just harm the game by creating an even bigger gap, powercreep and demotivation for casual player.
If you want to give the hardcore players something to do until the casuals can catch up maybe implement some special skins to grind.
Or better implement some sandbox features so you are not forced to bring in more and more content.
That formula update was added last patch. I don’t know why they included it in the post.
To answer your question: no. This change made it so higher gear score matter MORE in PvP. Before this change, people in 520 faction gear did relatively ok in pvp. After this change, 520 gear basically became useless
Because the 599 GS item is just as good as the 600 GS item in almost every case outside of perfect 3 perk 100K+ 600 GS items. No one has a full set of those, and for the most part no one who has a 599 BIS perk piece is trying to throw it away to get a 600 GS one. What people do at that point is start building other armor sets and weapon sets up so that they can have multiple play styles. I said you are ignorant because you probably didn’t know this, nothing was free about the 599 one. It was still a massive grind to get and just as good at the 600 one. But it won’t be after this patch, that is why people don’t like the patch.
I just don’t think you actually understand what people are saying, no one wants anything for free.
Right now, on live version, lots of players pushed that extra mile to get 600gs items, farming hundreds of expeditions or crafting hundreds of items worth of lot of coin. If everyone would be able to jump from 599 to 600 with 20 umbral shards for any item, it means those players’s efforts would be invalidated and it’s not fair.
If AGS will make items below 600gs upgradeable, then not many players will find pushing for 625 worthy and will just stop at 619 and wait for the next gs bump within 2-3 months.
How does it invalidate the hard work done by 600 gs players? They literally keep their gear and can upgrade it to 625 with 3 perks on it.
If they allow 590+ gear to be upgraded it will only have 2 perks on it because it’s epic and not legendary. So the 600 gs player will still have the advantage, and the gear score difference between them and the ~595 GS people will be relatively the same as before instead of a 25 gs+ gap.
Thos players spent hundreds of coins for expedition keys or asmodeum. You get to make that jump from 599 to 600 with 10-20 umbra shards. How is that not invalidating someone’s efforts?
Ok, I also spent 100k+ coin for my 590-599 gear with bis perks on it? If I knew AGS was randomly gonna add a system like this, I wouldn’t have spent 30k on a 599 piece with bis perks. I would have bought a 600 gs one with the exact same perks + a trash perk for close to the same price.
What I have to lose is hundreds of thousands of gold because I have to buy an identical piece to what I have with 1 gear score higher to be able to upgrade it to 625. What the “600 gs people” have to lose is… nothing? The gap between me and a 600 average GS player is gonna stay the same, instead of them getting a huge advantage only because they had 1 gear score higher than me on a piece
If this system actually launches in the fashion that it is currently in…I know there are many people in my company alone that are going to be extremely dissatisfied, and this will destroy any chance of brining in new players…maxing GS shouldn’t be so difficult to do, considering this is a skill based game. Please don’t kill this game like this…
