You can play the game though.
They just can’t fit everyone into the same server, and they aren’t tolerating the hours long ques anymore either. There’s a limit to how much of everything people get of what they want, unfortunately.
It’s not just one or ten people that want to get on a server.
It’s like, thousands, and they are willing to sit in que for weeks to bully people off the server. That’s just not good for anyone. So i can totally see why AGS is funneling like this, it’s better for the game as a whole.

what do you mean by “They just can’t fit everyone into the same server” theres like 15 locked servers, and most of them are 1000/2500 theres planty of room for the remaining of us

What do those servers look like at peak times?
Looking at the last 24 hours, it looks like all of the servers that are locked are maxxed out at peak or pretty close. All of the ones that are unlocked tend to have lower population during peak (but several are pretty close)
Sorting for the last 14 days, most all of them are bursting at the seams on weekends. That’s probably the averaging they use to decide when to unlock.
I keep checking Ennead, Med pop, I check every day, Med pop. The first time I tried to make a character 3 days ago it was full with 14 or so people in Queue. If sub 100 queues means “oh my god shut it down”… What a joke.
Who know’s how accurate that nwdb is but the peak for the server was like 2,033 in the last 24h. Only around that number for a couple hours. Most of the time, sub 1000. So… Yeah man, this server is bangin, thank goodness the server is locked.
It does look like Ennead is quite full on the weekends, It doesn’t say for how long it stays full on max, but i can see why.
Though it does look like the peak is coming down the last couple of days during the week. So it may not stay locked for long. From what i’ve seen they are averaging the peak values for so many days. If they fall below that on average they tend to unlock them.
But that’s just a guess on the ones i’ve seen lock and unlock.
Yeah, just rough trying to find out when I can actually try the game out. First time, but my buddy some how picked the “popular” server.
All I found for any info on it was “Keep an eye on the server status page” /spams refresh.
I’m really sorry to hear that, I know how frustrating it can be. When i first started the game i was on a smaller server Ker-LS. Everyone i was playing with left for Ohonoo, it was packed full and i couldn’t get in for a few weeks. In my case even when i finally did the ques lasted for hours.
It was a very poor experience, i ended up catching up on a lot of netflix shows.
But, i will say this. They are handling this a lot better i think than they did back then. The servers were spun up fairly quickly, and i think most people got in to play which was important for a lot of first timers.
But i do feel like they could do something to make sure that friends are able to play together more easily. Whether that was a friend token that could bypass locks (limited amount per account so they couldn’t be abused) and also the ability to transfer from the login screen would have helped a lot during all the heavy ques. (even though it’s died down finally)

What is sad for me is that it’s really a strange move. Yes you’re right it’s quite better than the D-1 (honestly… I think it’s hard to do worse).
But Dev made a huge improvment on the game and the only things my friends and wife see is “We can’t join you cause server is locked”. They think the game is quite the same from one year ago and I think they are not the only one.
My idea was : why not letting people on fresh start transfer from fresh start to fresh start to find a place together (with a limiatation) ? They already developed the transfer structur, why not using it. And worst they never answer that they will try to do something for friends that can’t play together (on an mmorpg wich is quite ironic). Maybe just calm the fire with some CM coming and making us know that they are aware of the problem and work or no on it ^^. Anyway have nice game guys

The hilarious part is that fresh start servers were supposed to be everybodies chance to reSTART at the same time (so people wouldnt get outpaced exponentially) and here we are what 8 or 9 days after launch and the number of people still begging for a chance just to login to the game is absolutely mind blowing. Not to mention that theyre already exponentially behind, which was supposed to be the entire reason of doing this to begin with.
I truly feel for all of these people.

Like who tf cares if there’s a 3hour queue even on Sunday evening when 98% of the time the server is barely half filled lol
