80% positive reviews is proof these forums are filled with haters

Check out our content that we are creating! Still working on the rankings/results/replays code.

https://mmoevents.us/

We will be doing another one on El D. Our goal is to keep them going and keep the ranks with a point system. Then take the top 4 from each server and have the face off on the PTR.

The server being client authoritative or not has nothing to do with desync and everything to do with the clients having to communicate with the server back and forth.

I’d say we love the game mostly for what it could be, but they really need to bring out a lot more content. And wtf with those skins?

yeah 80% positive reviews from players still doing chest runs and having fun

wait until they start getting 1 shot in PVP and realizing the plan is to keep it that way for a year…

You seem to have missed the point, and there seems to be 3 different arguments going on here.
The client/server authoritative post was in response to @Blahblah348

where he mentions the desync (not me).
And everything else you mention is covered by MY post of the devs blog post.

Forum PvP pretty BiS, NGL.

Why cut the picture to show only “Recent review’s” ?

Simple, just the way OP has chosen to cope with the world.

Damn, even the Chat BS this guy is advertising on the forums completely destroyed his argument. I guess that‘s how it feels when tech slowly turns on their creators.

yesterday, you said this.

Cause recent reviews illustrates the current trend of the game based on recent improvements and fixes to the game? Why are reviews that were posted at launch when it was a completely different game more or as relevant than reviews after the game has been worked on? I remember when the overall reviews were in the negative zone and have over time been improved to mixed, and are now one percentage point away (69%) from slightly positive. Even the overall rating has improved over time. Just another positive trend to recognize.

Recent reviews are only the last 30 days or so.

Could it be that new players enjoy their leveling experience and make the review only to quit shortly after?

The recent positive reviews don’t seem to match up with the continuing slow bleed of player retention.

People can like the game and still stop playing cause they may run out of things to do until next update. I’ve played super fun games that end after 50 hours of gameplay. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t fun. But either way, you can’t dismiss the positive trend in both the recent reviews and the overall reviews. Overall are literally 1% from pushing into slightly positive. That’s quite amazing considering how low they were 6 months after launch. That’s a lot of positive reviews to bring almost a quarter of a million reviews 1% from slightly positive.

Pvp is essentially all I do (wars, opr, arena). Desync is definitely still an issue, especially in wars and arena. I have no idea why the desync in arena is so bad, considering it’s very small scale at 3v3, but it is without a doubt still a problem. So I, and many others disagree that’s it’s not a problem.

I agree it can be a problem. I have 2 computers that are right next to each other and on the same internet connection. One is hp omen gaming pc and has a 1080 graphics card, my other is a newer gaming pc with a 2080 super. There is no comparison in performance between the 2. My 2080 super is so smooth compared to the other to the point that I won’t even pvp on the 1080. If I didn’t have both computers, I’d think that the problem was on Amazon and not my own setup. But since I have a computer on the same network running the same game, that doesn’t experience the same lag, desync that my other does, it leads me to believe it’s my computer rather than a server issue. Could be wrong, but if it was a server or game issue and not my computer, I’d think I’d experience lag desync on both.

Not having any issues myself, but that’d be a big problem though. New world is advertised as GTX 670 minimum, GTX 970 recommended. I’d expect lag and desync below minimum, full functionality but not as pretty between minimum and recommended, and both pretty and functional above recommended. 1080 is way above recommended.

The thing is they revamped the early game so it’s actually a decent experience. So people play for a while and give a decent review now. Then they get to end game when it sucks and don’t bother going back to change their review.

So revamping the early parts of the game was actually a good move from a marketing perspective but has done nothing to address the core issues of the game.

I have a 3060ti GPU and Ryzen 5600x CPU. 32 GB 3600ddr ram. It’s not my pc. I also have fiber optics internet. This is a frustrating response to hear many people make, as it sidesteps the very real performance issues new World still has. People having issues as a result of a relatively low end pc, and new world itself having performance issues are not mutually exclusive.

Man I still had issues with a 12900k and 3090TI.

Only when I finally upgraded to a 4090 did all the problems finally stop for the most part.

Unfortunately only 57% of reviews by people who have played 100h+ are positive. 69% of ALL reviews are positive. Let’s at least be honest with each other and not skew the statistics.
