A buff or nerf should never effect final damage output by more then 10%

I have never seen a game nerf every single damage passive on BOTH weapons that are commonly used together like this.

I think there was a total of 17 nerfs for the “mage” build of fire staff and IG. How can you tweak 17 different numbers in one patch? And a lot of the changes are 33-50% nerfs PER passive…

I just don’t get the logic. If something is unbalanced tweak 1-2 passives until it is in line with the other weapons.

I’ve literally died 30+ times today and put down the ice gauntlet and fire staff. Simply put, my life staff with 100 points of focus, does more damage with a light attack, then my fire staff with a heavy attack and 415 intelligence. Ice is dead, fires heavy hitting “skills” don’t hit hard enough to to merit its use. Life staff+ void gauntlet is the only real viable option for magick dps in the game imho. People on my server have already started kicking mages from groups for not having competitive dps in dungeons, and not contributing to kills in premades. A trend I think will accelerate because they’re now seen as a liability, and the weakest link.

I mean just reading the PTR changes, I knew if they went through with the changes both weapons would be dead…

Maybe because math is my thing, but AGS needs to hire some people who can work with numbers. They have no idea how different multipliers effect one another…
