Players are very good at identifying problems. There are a lot of issues that get unanimous support, such as lag/desync issues and faction imbalances. I have no doubt that the devs are working hard to fix them.
The second part is that players propose poor solutions. Players often think of ways to solve their problem rather than thinking through the solutions impact on the community. @Hiply illustrated it best. Solutions to perceived problems often have a lot of controversy around them. How does the team know who is right and who is acting in their self interest?
Despite this, I agree with your sentiment. I have seen many high quality solutions posted on the forums that get buried. Everyone will upvote someone who is complaining, but no one wants to comment on posts discussion solutions to problems. Unfortunately, this is inherent to all social media platforms, not just the AGS forums.
I hope that the community team on the forums tries to look for proposed solutions that don’t get a lot of activity, rather than reading through the most popular thread, which is often just people complaining about the same thing in different ways.
Could you link your thread about trophies? I’d like to take a look.
it does , but please understand that this game has players from all over the world .
Which means people with different living standards and abilities play .
and some % of the player base cannot afford high end machines .
having the ability to turn of some settings . would boost the fps of many players .
For an example competitive pvp players . and some pve players as well .
care much much more about doing well in the game (match , dungeon ) then their game looking pretty. ( my personal example , right now i have 30-50 fps . in large fights it can drop down below 25 and open areas sometimes it hits 60 ) ( and yes i have done everything possible on my pc to get a better performance ) .
so again please let us turn some things off.
(also some optimization for the game taking such a heavy toll on the cpu would be great ,
many players have the cpu working at 99% the whole time they are playing )
Are there any plans on adding FidelityFX Super Resolution to the New World visual settings? Would help mitigate a lot of the performance issues many players are having during graphically intensive combat.
I think we’ll see DLSS first, but we could see both. The interesting question to me is whether AGS has any plans to implement the Atom renderer that’s part of O3DE with NW. If so it opens them up to offering Vulkan support as well.
Please fix the faction quest bug before you update the game with mutations. Going from faction to diff to same faction again prevents you from progressing through the faction missions again. These mutations don’t mean shit if I can’t do the faction quests. Bugs should be your top priority.
Was hoping for FidelityFX FSR because it’s platform agnostic meaning unlike DLSS it works for Intel, Radeon, and non-RTX Nvidia GPUs. This discussion was about helping improve performance for a lot of the player base that doesn’t have access to expensive Nvidia RTX cards and adding DLSS doesn’t help them. FSR is also less work to implement than DLSS.
No.
I play with a GTX 650 around 30fps(in large fights i just spam my skills and hope to hit something because it’s impossible to play whit 8 fps) and i understand this is an outdated gpu, but turn off useless visuals stuffs would help A LOT.
ps.: english is not my first language, so sorry any misspelling.
Ice gauntlet was nurfed. Some of its perks and abilities were nurfed making it a lot weaker than most other weapons.
Then they nurfed it again by slowing down the ticks on ice storm so now an enemy can get out of the ice storm within 1 or 2 ticks.
Also now when you cast ice storm it gives a 1 - 2 second pause for character where you can’t move even if your holding W key.
All other moves you can move straight away after casting it.
Ice gauntlet also let you fire a light attack while continuously moving - which I think all weapons should allow this but now don’t.
I know it’s all about fine tuning and balancing and I’m happy to wait for that - just nice to know if it’s going to be looked at.
All in all your right the ice gauntlet is a good weapon the best in my opinion. Was the most smoothest playable weapon and I still use it but feel weak and see others doing way more damage.
Yh I use ice storm, ice spike and ice tomb
So I normally try hot ice storm get them stunned for 1 second while I hit the ice spike and Yh nice damage when I pull it off but seeing a tank with either a war hammer or great axe tank and take down a level 62 mob in a few seconds flat tells me ice gauntlet is weaker.
Same with pvp - I don’t have the gear and I’m only average at pvp but tanks slaughter me every time even if I hit my two moves on them perfectly
Hello, there is a forum thread that has been ignored for a month now, I already retweeted it with it. And he indicated the moderators, wrote them in a personal - but the reaction was 0.
I guess they shouldn’t listen to players at all, let them put their vision, if we like it we stay, if we don’t we leave. Simple, straight forward and easy approach.
