I would also like to mention since my brain wandered off somewhere we have not talked about invasions in the game and tanking not sure if that’s a needed thing but maybe a boss besides a bear to kite around for us to do

i cant agree more with my fellow tank comrade, for me especially in PvE taunt is so broken when the mobs start spawning but then its fine after a minutes its been spawned.
Hope we get more love.

We are fighting well keep showing tank dominance

Don’t waste your time, we are asking things since 3-4 month about tanking but nothing is comming. Community gave many example of how could they improve tanking gameplay, and thanks for the effort you did.
April’s patch is a joke, it could be the opportunity to do something for tank, but nothing.

In my language, we say " they pee on our face but they try to make us believe it’s rainning "

I have a idea about the tank:

  1. Perks.

    • 250 CON: when you blocking: +50 % dmg reduction, -20% move speed, generate 1000% more threat in 10m area, cause enemies in the area have fear debugger for 10s (-10 % dmg, -10 % move speed). only works if you’re in heavy load.
    • 300 CON: + 50% recovery stamina, + % stamina scale with con, 50 con = 10 stamina (only work if you’re in heavy load).
  2. Skills

  • Defiant stance: “Final cooldown”: + if you’re in heavy load, you pull enemies close to you and cause 1 s root. Same as the “berserk” in hatchet.

While I understand what you are saying we must still provide nothing but the best tank dominance on these forums we are fighting pretty hard bump the post make ideas everything is easier said than done there is always some sort of light at the end of the tunnel. Like I said before in my first post for me to have to come to the forums is a problem. I will be here voicing for tanks and bumping the threads so we are heard.

And yes, thanks for the effort you are all showing.

300 Con perk needs to be Damage Reflection, even if a small %. Attacks (blocked or unblocked) should return ~7% of the damage to the attacker.

This is the workaround for tanks not getting credit for damage absorption.

I know the devs are mainly worried about bots going into OPR but it’s not worth sacrificing a large segment of the player base.

Amazing post!

First off, 250/300 con perks need rework. 250 con should be changed to extra blocking efficiency, and 300 perk should be some form of dmg reduction or stamina increase.

Tanks shouldn’t be 1v1 gods or able to kill easily, tanks should be stalwart defenders that can survive alone for a long time. In PvP, tanks should fill the CC/disruption role. Having enough defense to sustain being in the enemy lines, while causing significant disruption to enemy casters/healers without kill potential.

Tanks should be setting up kill windows for the dps.
As it stands, GA/WH does this extremely well, but also has stupid dmg leading to this dumb brawler meta. Sword/shield Does not do this in any shape or form, while providing less Survival potential against melee than GA or WH.

In PvE Sword is prety much required as the only weapon that can block well enough to “tank.”
If shield stam efficiency was as good as it is in PvE in PvP, Then it might be used for point men. But when great axe/Warhammer can 1 tap my entire stamina bar, it defeats the purpose if shield. It makes no sense that turning my back to a GA/WH player and holding block with defensive formation gives me a better chance of surviving a GA player than blocking their attacks…

Last time I checked also the reduced stamina damage taken from attacks perk doesn’t even work

totally agree, and not only that, I think there should be a benefit to HP scaling once you hit over 300, perhaps 1% maximum HP bonus for every point into Con afterwards or so, as well as 10% threat generation by every point afterwards.

hi im sorry to say this, but if you have aggro problem in this game, you dont know how aggro works here.
PVE:

  1. you should start the fight first every time and do some damage before the others. if you dont have damage you will need more time to generate aggro. its a fact
  2. your party need to wait to start dps.
  3. you dont need hatred items or gems to keeping aggro, those perks or gems are only useful in mitigating aggro problems
  4. in this game there are no aggro problems and you cannot expect to aggro everything using only taunts and then stay put doing nothing. you need to attack and do damage

In a perfect world sense yes your party should wait for you to aggro basic 101 of dungeons, but most of the time they don’t (that’s fine) every party is a box of chocolates unless your with friends or a group that know what their doing. The aggro should just work better you can swing all you want but if the person is doing more damage or you get healer aggro (mostly healer aggro imo) and trust me I have swung at them before, they just pull off, not much you can do about it, it doesn’t make you a bad tank it just happens.

Mobs are delayed when you taunt, someone can shoot a mini boss (situation where the party should wait but don’t) and you can taunt it then it just walks right pass you (to go to said party member not near you) before doing the animation to the person that shot it before turning to you.

Unless I am misinterpreting 3. You do need the carme gem at the least. The hatred amps up threat by 15% (that’s it). You can just use carme gems and be fine they work with defiant stance, shield bash and if you use hammer shock wave. Of course other weapons that can use the taunt as well as long as it has carme gem, and it all has different cool downs for when mobs pull off 2-6 seconds (at least that’s what the description says). Swinging I feel there’s a delay for them registering back to me or they won’t register at all forcing me to skill before they kill someone.

You need the carme gem on your weapon to taunt so cool that’s the only thing that should be working? There is a perk called beloved that decreases hatred, I have no idea who wears it, but doesn’t that mean their should be some sort of change so it is being used or be taken out or modified? It’s small stuff but to be honest it can be done better for future potential content that comes out. The dungeons might not be hard now but if they decide to throw something at us then at least there’s a use for it.

So far for pve tanks have just said aggro that’s about it. Probably some small changes nothing damaging.
