A question for everyone!

Right now nothing. I quit for 1 month because I have played everything for so long that it became boring. I hope arena will change that.

Actually enjoying a lot of it, the world, the ambiance, the music, even somehow the scenario. The crafting is quite nice.

But everything seems a bit pointless since the combat is what bores me in the game. I don’t wanna invest time in anything else while the actual core of the gaemplay isn’t enjoying to me. I really wish combat wasn’t ā€œsomething in the middleā€.

Hello. In my haracter PvP tab I got 1750/200 points on the first checkpoint by playing 3v3 arenas. Now it won’t progress anymore, even though I still participate in them. It just give me no points.
Is there a limit on 3v3 arenas, or is this some sort of a bug? Does anyone else have tis problem too?

Finding a noob in mid lvl 30’s .inviting to company ,taking him to lvl 60…helping them to 625 then watching them leave for big companies …
Other than that ,gathering motes whilst watching cartoons
Music in Siren arena
Mining
Fishing

Not enjoying anything else since you have decided to focus on developing content for minority of your players …ferals
and ignoring your real base
You have destroyed crafting
Gathering is pointless

As someone who is a no lifer, basement dwelling , and absolutely non-pvp gamer, I enjoy New World by:

Leveling up my characters
Playing with a friend
Helping others learn and level
Helping others with their quests
Teaching new players about making Potions
Teaching new players about making Rations
Teaching new players about making Bags
Teaching new players about making Tools
Teaching new players about using Blocking
Teaching new players about making their first Camp
Teaching new players about using their Map
Teaching new players about using their Compass
Teaching new players about working gathering Runs

Now, as a corollary to that question, I’ll answer one that you did NOT ask

What would you like to be able to enjoy, in the future?

For Quests:
I would love to be able to:

  1. being able to make a new character, on the same server as my main character, so that I can run current quest content with new players, as not being able to share in their quests makes helping them harder than it has to be, not being able to see what they see, and having to just go off of old (and badly remembered) run throughs of the quests from previous versions of the game.

  2. Help folks run through some form of (PhP) quests ingame, that as part of the quest process, has a new player clicking on links to these forums, and getting rewards for
A - creating their own forum account
B - reading their first post
C - making their first post
D - making their first bug report
All these things would be important in ensuring that every single paying customer knows how to find these forums and post here, so that future bug reports could result in everyone participating if they choose, and also give their own views on topics.

  3. Help folks in game with issues they are having, including in town issues (who does what, where, when, and why) and locating the various buildings, in the various towns, and teaching them about using their Map to see what any given town has at that particular moment, in the way of crafting/refining stations. Something like an AGS discord server, and preferably with a focus on multi-monitor usage, so folks could have their own game up and running, share their screen with whoever they are helping, while the other person can watch and learn, and then immediately put that info into use.

  4. Perhaps having the ability to create ā€˜quests’ that have new players going to storage locations, the Inn, the town and faction boards so that they get reinforced properly on the layout of a town, so they never get lost/frustrated trying to find their way around.

  5. Teaching folks the basics of using the interface, to party, to friend, to trade etc…

  6. Making use of a free new character slot, on the same server as our (main) characters are, for the purpose of being able to play with others. A Main character should be 60th level, so on any server that you have a single 60th level character, you should be able to earn additional characters, both for playing with others, as well as just for the hell of it.

  7. Once I work my character to 60th level, being able to Prestige up, and gain something significant in the process, so I turn my 60th level guy into a 1st level guy, but I have to have some things to make this process worthwhile, so some ideas;
A - at 60th level, we gain 5 attribute points, so this is a place to start, get a permanent +5 attribute points, each and every time you Prestige up a given character, over and over again. Obviously, we don’t want folks starting off with +500 attribute points (from 100 repetitions through this process), until/unless there is content developed somewhere down the line that would make proper use of such a thing…(Think Creatively), but letting just hitting 60th level should not get us there, instead we could impose the need too have maxed, on one run through or another, getting other skills maxed out. I would think that, as there are 4 other types of levels a players character progress in, tie each area to unlocking up to +100 attribute points. If all you do is get to level 60, over and over again, then the most you can unlock and finally get to is +100 cap, but if, on the other hand, you maxed out all 5 Gathering skills, at one time or another, then that would unlock a second, additional, +100 attribute point cap. Each additional +100 cap would unlock by maxing out the Refining, Crafting, and Weapons skills. Keep in mind, that you don’t have to max them all out on any particular run through from 1 - 60th level, just have to have achieved those maxed out skills a some point. This would leave us with an absolute cap of +500 attribute points, but would be much harder to earn than
B - In order to make this attractive for those of us so inclined, we would need some additional changes, like our Gathering skills unlock some things as we level them up to the current max of 200, so make these unlocked things remain unlocked once opened up the first time we hit the skill level to unlock them, which would mean that we could have a 1st level guy who could, if at any point previously they had earned 200 mining at some point, immediately start mining those Orichalcum deposits. This type of mechanic should apply to the Refining and Crafting skills, as well, so that no one who has earned the right to be able to unlock doing a thing is prevented still being able to do that content.
C - Bags, consumables and Jewelry slots, once opened, they should remain open, so a 1st level character who had previously been 60th level, would retain the full use of all these slots upon prestige upping and starting over.

  8. For those not inclined to make use of an infinite progression system, and endlessly progressing to 60th level, over and over again, How about ladder seasons, including a ā€˜hardcore’ ladder? A much older game, Diablo 2, had ladder seasons (which were randomly done, which I think was bad) and they included a hardcore mode, where when you died, you were totally dead and gone, forever. While I personally would never want my characters to die such a death, have that as an ingame option, but along with several other, lesser options, these could include:
A - Death means your character is permanently dead to hardcore mode in the current hardcore ladder season, or
B - Death means your character is ā€˜dead for a day’ to hardcore mode in the current hardcore ladder season, or
C - Death means your character is limited in some meaningful way that my poor brain is not capable of foreseeing at this time.
D - For non-hardcore ladder seasons, there would be no penalties for Death, but all ladder season characters should go away (be deleted) at the end of a given season unless the player ā€˜won’ the ladder season, or they have to pay a one time fee, to keep that character and convert it to a non-ladder character instead. As competitive folks would likely want keep competing, this would allow an extra cash flow into AGS’s coffers. Of course, I would not put a fee on playing in any ladder season, at least not for a number of seasons, so that folks might just try it out for free to see if it is something they might just come to enjoy (and so that, in the inevitable case of bugs, AGS can get the system down pat, before they start charging for it/having the embarrassing reimbursements requests), and if playing in a particular ladder season were a requirement, then the character itself should be free to convert and keep.

My health has me mainly homebound, and feeling sick and tired more often than not, and this post used up my ā€˜feeling good’ time for today, so I’ll have to cut this short.

@Shadow_Fox If interested in the whole ladder season concept, feel free to reply directly.

Well, if you’re still looking for replies to this topic, I’ll add mine:

I’m genuinely enjoying grinding XP in my non-combat related skills, such as Mining, Smithing, Woodcutting, etc. As someone who has addictively played and enjoyed RuneScape (another MMO) since 2004, grinding these skills here in New World feels very similar to RuneScape’s various skills. I’m trying to say that I love it, lol.

If I may also share my dislikes, I’d like to do that:

I’ve never liked PvP in any game, and sometimes in games I find myself disliking combat in general. Here in New World, I detest the PvP, and I have found myself disliking some PvE combat. Specifically PvE combat situations where I’m having to deal with multiple game mechanics at once, such as the fighting corrupted. Short of situations like that, I’ve been able to enjoy the PvE combat; the simpler the mechanics, the better for me.

Only exploits and bugs …

as you have completely eliminated the game’s game mechanics with this patch, nothing. I uninstalled it after more than 1800 recorded hours. well thank you .

As a PVE player i do really hope that someday you will add a raid content with an actual mechanics and progression to take down every bosses in the future with a new designs on it. Hope it will bring back the players that has quit and lost their hopes from the game.

  • elite chest run

  • expedition

  • mutated expedition

  • leveling expertise

What I’d like more is like a raid with boss like the arena boss you have with like 10 of them to kill

That’ll be 14.99USD, you can transfer to one of the remaining servers at your own risk. I’d suggest steer clear of Orun, Pluto, and Orofena (US East) until AGS starts to care about how shell company exploit is effecting server/game health. Or do what you want, I’m not your boss…and if you choose one you don’t end up liking, the cooldown is only 24 hrs (to allow the cross-server trading to stay viable), just try another server!

Nah. Not paying for a game I already paid for. If AGS can’t make it so players like myself who actually want to play this game are unable to play the content that they want, I’ll end up just being another one of the 99% as this game skids to a halt.
