A simple question for PVE oriented players

https://mmo-population.com/r/newworldgame
How do you know that’s actual data? What’s the source of that data? How does that relate with what a majority is and what a majority may think, and even then, can a majority not be wrong?

Steam statistics is actual factual data as NW can only be played through Steam exclusively.

And no I’m not confusing. It’s exactly what I mean, if in weeks time the peak concurrent falls to 90k are you still going to be defending that “majority”? And what balance can players hope for if certain players only see it from one side ever, without considering multiple sides of the camp.

  1. No one is alienated. Flag and do the same
  2. The patch actually balanced the prices. Unless you liked paying 40g for an egg.
  3. It is not an exploit. If there is a small area that can’t hold many people farming then there is fighting. Also people sometimes just come to farming spits just to kill gatherers.

As anyone that has problems with pve luck you seem like you’re playing a different game than the rest of us.

Whatever I guess

Yes. Even more chances to purchase.

How much of the data have you looked at.

At point 1)

Here is 1 person that’s alienated, in a particular type of case.

That 90k can be 1.2 million players playing 1 hour per day man. You just don’t understand what concurrent player count means.

The only thing that it means is that players play the game less time. Nothing more…

Also: when you ask for a source don’t immediately comment “how do you know it is true?”

There are no evidence that could convince people like you. Nothing at all. I am being right to be rude

Thats a lie. Even on Midgard which is a pvp server thre are many non pvp groups. No one wants a 300vs300 battle in Reekwater.

Again: what you read in these forums is NOT whats happening in the real game.

Throwing accusations of what concurrent players are in this fashion + linking that MMO link, demonstrates total lack of understanding. What are concurrent players, IE players online and playing it at the same time within a certain time period, and what are PEAK concurrent players?

“1.2 million players per 1 day” or whatever X number of players per day… the PEAK concurrent players will converge that into a “peak” and will show if numbers are declining per day or per period.

Sure. But you can read the data that show a slight increase.

So.
What are you talking about?

So you labelling this persons testimony as a lie, means its a lie? Because you said so?

That’s not Midgard that fellow is talking about. There are different dynamics on Midgard, one story I made a point about earlier. Each case is different.

And you labeling the data false means that it is false??

Look at the mirror

The peak is the indicator, that’s why steam uses it. It’s simple and demonstrates a trend. If in 2 weeks time the weekly consistent peak becomes 90k, that’s a significant decline in player numbers.

you don’t understand what I’m trying to say.

1)alienation is a feeling. Some PVE players feel now that they are less valued than pvp players. Even if you believe they are wrong, its undeniable that a sizable number of players now feel this is not a game for pvers anymore. Many pvpers seem to agree.

2)the gathering balance is off. the highest possible rarity boost just got increased by 25% and the progression curve of when players get access to what rarity, with how much time investment is completely thrown off. Level 1 players now get access to gathering stats they wouldn’t normally have until midgame, And midgame players have endgame stats. You may like the results, but the balance of gathering progression is completely borked. You might not get why this matters, but it was a huge mistake, in terms of gathering progression.

  1. I don’t mean exploit as in get banned/cheating, I mean exploit as in making full use of something in somewhat destructive way. Thats amazons fault, the players are making the most logical use of the mechanic.

Yes. A decline that happens in any MMO especially a grind heavy new MMO with insane antihype behind it.

It means nothing. The game will stabilise

You dismissed the guy without any foresight or even checking.

Look comrade.

Critical thinking involves analysing pro’s / con’s on every side of the argument, debating, suggesting. It involves seeing the other sides perspective.

All I’m hearing is aggression, insults, dismissals and rough data under pretence of evidence.

Actually let me rephrase this last thing lest it triggers further. It’s ok, all is good, enjoy the game.

ehh, a couple weeks ago, id have agreed with you, but this has been a rough few weeks, following a rough few weeks. With at best, extremely contraversial, polarizing design choices by the devs. I think that even dedicated players are beginning to lose confidence that they can take this game to a better future. And yeah, its not just because of this issue. If this was the only issue they had, I think the game population would be fine.

  1. I’m trying to explain to you that what the forums feel is NOT what actual players feel. I have 3 huge companies on my server. Not a single person feels that the bonus is unfair. The only people that cry are people that haven’t played the game enough.

  2. It is abit off yes. I even created a thread about it

  3. It is disruptive only for mat prices. Nothing else is disrupted

Look.

You asked me for data. I gave you my data and you dismissed them.

Don’t try to teach me how debates work. They certainly do NOT work by dismissing data.

On the other hand I shouldn’t do it either. You are correct at that:)

what I see in game is a noticeably smaller amount of players, complaining about many things, and mocking most of the decisions that have been made recently. Your server is a very rare occurrence if you aren’t hearing an earful in global

Ok now that’s good observation. So indeed it could be case that none of them feel that way. (you’d have to ask each one specifically)

It could be accurate to estimate that 90% of them don’t fully understand how the ROL system of luck works. Most likely neither do the majority of the player-base for now.

In terms of game, this game needs to cater to different playstyles/players, otherwise it becomes super niche.

At this stage time will tell how well it balances all of these certain elements, and what kind of majority or minority will remain.

Oh I am gearing a huge earful in global ( I’m at Midgard that still has queues btw).
What i am saying is that I’m not hearing any of it from truly dedicated players that will stick with the game…
