About the upcoming "Daggers" weapon and Dual Wielding in general

I have no idea if it’s been confirmed or it’s all yet to be decided, but please, don’t make daggers into dual wielding.

It’s so much unoriginal, every MMO with daggers revolve around dual wielding daggers gameplay.
What about a new, innovative assassin based gameplay with a SINGLE dagger, designed around precise strikes rather than dual wielding massacres?

And since we’re talking about dual wielding, how about transitioning the Hatchet into Dual Wielding Hatchet gameplay? The whole weapon design revolves around the “Berserker” vibe, and dual wielding would boost the fantasy a lot.

This post is to gather feedback around the idea, and possibly direct it to the developers.
Although if they’re already deep into development, it’s going to be hard to change it I guess.

If you want to talk about unoriginal, let’s talk about how in any game with an axe in it, people want to duel wield it lol

Sure. They could do some interesting stuff with it.

They could also do interesting things with dual wielded daggers too though. Like what if because it’s dual wielded, we could use all 6 daggers skills, for example.

NO. Anoter dex or str weapon is end of NW for many ppl.

Why not have the off-hand dagger be a parrying dagger with a defensive skill tree dedicated to it?

That way you can still dual-wield daggers but be original about it. The closest thing to it that I’ve experienced was back in the day playing Vanguard Saga of Heroes.

Also, so far melee weapons are divided between “one-handed” and “two-handed”, there isn’t a “dual wield” section in the weapon mastery tab… so making them dual wield daggers would feel weird?

I’m fine with it being DW. I think it would make most sense for it to be a Dex/int weapon. I don’t know what they’ll actually do, but I think that makes the most sense.

Hey so. IG was the last weapon to be put in the game before launch, and VG was the first “new” weapon. I think they can wait one more round.

Dex has not gotten a new weapon at all yet btw. And there are no mono Dex melee weapons at all.

or make it focus and dex because assassin wep and all that requires focus for presise hits

Personally, I’d like to see daggers introduce a dual wielding system, but dual wielding not to be limited to daggers. It’d be nice if instead, dual wielding just becomes something you can apply to all singlehanded weapons. Where you are able to mix and match for example a sword and dagger, run two swords, run a hatchet and dagger. As well as for example run a hatched and shield.

Please make it dual wielding.

Make it one Dagger and one Pistol. You know this is the greatest and sexiest of combos.

Pistol goes in shield slot. Problem solved. We don’t need any more giant weapons or big splosions for wizard types. We need stab banging. It’s all we ever needed.

Personally, I would also like to see dual wielding system, and we are going to see this with daggers at the very least and probably same case with pistols. NPCs around the world already have this… players need to be to “perform” at least at the same level as normal NPCs around the world. Level 7 mob can pick up a shield and a secondary weapon, but our character for some reason is too dumb to do so… a bit disapointing.

I was realy disapointed when they added the axe and was one handed only, with no option to equip another one in the offhand… same thing goes for the sword.
Also was pretty disapointing when you could only use a Shield with 1 handed sword, but not with the axe.

Ideally they would bring 1 dagger and allow us to equip 2 of them (one main hand and one off-hand) and REWORK the system to allow us to equip 1 handed swords and 1 handed axes in offhand.

Im not a fan of WoW, but the game had a lot of good system, and the main hand and offhand was one of them, its such a shame we dont have it in this game yet.

I’m not taking about stat distribution, perks and performance; im confident the developers can adjust the numbers to a satisfactory standard, since we already have this with the shield, the system can be applied for dual wield.

But having Dual Wielding system would be something that i feel is needed in the game and would open up a world of posibilities for the future weapons, especially since we are being taunted constantly by NPCs, that have dual wielding daggers, shield and pistol, shield and axe, dual pistols… and all the COOL dual wielding weapons.
[Even if the shield + 1 handed weapon options would be only for the round shield, since its the smallest one, that would be more then okay]

TLDR: We are getting dual wielding daggers ! It would be cool if they reworked the system and added some more dual wielding options.

EDIT: Looking at the systems already present in game, im confident this would not take a lot of work to implmentent, a bit of testing and some new animations, but other then that this would probably be a COOLER update then BRIMSTONE (with a LOT less work for the devs)… and brimstone is fantastic… but an update that singlehandedly enhances the combat in the game and brings it to another level would def be amazing. Just saying this would be a perfect update for X-MAS / NewYear :slight_smile: level up New World for 2023 !

I’m sure that most mages would not want me including the blunderbuss in “new int weapons”.
