For both of these, I have to assume that you are speaking in terms of PvP? Think about what you are saying here, in a thread where folks are against the ‘dead-end end-game’ and wanting to be able to meaningfully build/progress their character beyond just working to 60th level a single time.
Why should I (and every other player that gets to 60th level) not get a fitting and deserved reward for the hard work to Prestige Up my character, over and over again? Just because someone else wants to playthrough the game one time and call it good?
No.
Cosmetic only ‘rewards’ don’t get it, at all. Such thinking is part of what is wrong with NW right now.
Doing something like that kills the interest for the players that will play the game long term, while catering to those that meerly play a little bit. NOT a smart way for Amazon to make their game have long term replayability.
One of the other things that is wrong with the current state of the game, is making end-game content too hard for solo-play, and trying to force ‘Zerging’ as the only viable way to ‘get everything’, but along with PvP, this is something I refuse to do. Any content locked behind ‘Party only’ playing is wasted content, and the only way to unlock such content would be to allow a prestige system that let’s players build up their character until they can finally solo everything (including the dang Dungeon’s and Elite zones), without the need for 5 or more players to do it.
As I personally want to finally playthrough the entire story line (something neither of my two characters is capable of even now), without having to waste my time with 625 GS, or worrying about how this might affect folks that use just use the New World game to run around and kill each other rather than actually trying to play through the storyline, perhaps we should keep things balanced by excluding PvP for such characters?
That or separate PvE from servers that allow PvP, so the pvp folks can have their fun, and the rest of us can have our fun, on servers that don’t share an economy, and can then be made better for each playstyle, without ruining the game for the other folks.
@ZhaoDraco & @MadHippo Am I right that your objections are rooted in PvP mode thinking?
