Add DPS METER omg

  1. After war you could check your stats.
  2. After OPR you could check your stats.
  3. After invasion your could check your stats.
  4. After arena you could check your stats.
WHY I COULD NOT CHECK THE STATS AFTER MUTATIONS?

I want to test different builds. I want to see which one is better. I want to see how good or bad i war during mutaion…
WTF AGS?

This game doesn’t need a DPS meter, it needs a combat log channel, it’s 2023 and every MMO out there should have one, imo.

If they ever make a DPS meter in the future I really hope its not public by default, oh and make it reset in expeditions everytime one dude kiss the floor, because I don’t wan’t to listen any “see I came big DPS you suck” just because I had to stop mine just for rez him a few times.

The DPS meter is a tool that you have to take with a grain of salt, because it gives a metric output without considering external factors thay may or may not have a HUGE impact on the average performance.

give total damage at the end of mutation and fix all the doubts. We need this in the guild to figure out how to speedrun not to be mad at players. Because we can see anyway when a group is not doing damage. We use timers and we can track boss phases.

Example: If Cilla doesn’t die within the very beginning of the third ball we know something is wrong in the build of 1 dps.

The problem is that right now everyone is blaming everyone else and you have to play a bit of among us each time. That is toxic. I prefer PUGs in Dungeons because at least when is finished you go away. Just show the total damage done and that’s it. And show it at the end.

If someone after the hard proof still blames someone else, hard kick. Sometimes they don’t know who to blame and start blaming the tank for low dps imagine lol…

I think it would harm NW waaay more than it does good.

But the game is at it’s brink anyway, so if they give up on the game as whole I think dps meter then would be a good thing. Since you would give people “sth to do”. Just as in FF “being good” is for many endless “content”
https://www.fflogs.com/character/eu/zodiark/navon%20uchiha?zone=44#zone=49

Here are my current logs, so it’s rank 12 world currently which will drop since I haven’t done parseruns yet really cuz no irl time and likely won’t till end of the tier (in like 2months, if even. I don’t really care).
But yea, that’s what I mean. I know how to hit buttons and pushout dps, but I think it would do way more harm than good in NW.
You also can’t deny that WoW is toxic asf, and you waste also a looot of time due to the toxicity if we exclude all statics.

Can’t you really understand the massive variance and absolute MESS m10’s would become with an introduction of a dps meter? Tanks running 5con greeding every single hit. Doing a single roll too much being the reason you lose 5parses on higher end. You die once you rather dip than get a bad log and seem inconsistent.
It would just be a mess in this game

People think it’s like “oh I can see if I get better” and wholeheartely belive they are better than others. Noone who didn’t play with a dps meter before is even close to being an average parser. It’s a fun tool for “elite” gamers. For the rest, not so fun

I’d like a personal DPS meter or combat log and also a reliable dummy to test different weapon combos on.

As far as a damage report for the whole group at the end of an expedition run, I think it would encourage selfish gameplay instead of what’s good for the group. Why would I jump out of the main fray to CC the archer and stop it hitting the healer? Why would I swap from my main damage weapon to use a utility weapon for a sec so everyone’s damage goes up but I miss a few hits due to the weapon change?

People with limited understanding see the bigger number and think it’s better. I don’t have faith in many New World players to have any greater understanding than that.

A forum search will find people asking for leaderboards as far back as launch. More than one even. Obviously AGS listened no matter how “popular” the idea was with the forums.

I reverse my stance on meters.

Please enable them so mutation content can finally die and maybe it will force AGS to improve them or it will kill the game off finally.

at this point I’m apathetic to either outcome tbh.

Of all the things that need to be fixed, adding damage meter should be at the bottom of the list. Incoming damage meters to save the game.

I would like a DPS meter but i think it should be personal. That way you can test dps for builds but not have that toxic element. Some builds have support elements so i dont think its fair to compare a gs/spear to a gs/hatchet for example

See no reason why not, could be nice to see how much dps you dish out, test variety of builds etc.

Can be done locally too, no database requirement.

Example: array of your first 100 hits divided by same amount of hits done. Just read the damage output and show the average somewhere. Easy peacy!

I dont know, ever since the introduction of achievements in WoW and later gearscore, blatant toxicity seems to have taken foothold and be seen as par for the course. In my experience it leads to gatekeeping, people demanding absurd requirements and locking other people out of content. You already see it now where an M1 more often than not is locked for anyone below 610GS, imagine having DPS meters that are constantly cited for everything that happens.

Sure, i’d like to know how well i’m doing and some comparisons are healthy but unfortunately i have zero faith in players being able to handle such a tool maturely enough. As someone already pointed out it could very well lead to anti-social group practices as refusing to ressurrect anyone, or collect a rogue add, or anything else that isnt a direct DPS-metric. A private DPS meter is fine with me, you can decide if you want to share it or not but with the toxic sh!?hole community we already have i doubt a public DPS-meter will do any good but i’m certain it will do alot of harm.

that is allready in Nw or how many Magical Weapons do u see in M10’s or War’s

How could you argue against in game tool to help you min-max your build in a game when you building your character. WTF?

Too many people that got their feelings hurt.

I feel like they should learn to socialize a bit and find players of their same skill level or just friends in general, meanwhile let the rest of people enjoy the DPS meter which is 100% a must in a MMORPG to min max builds.

Not really a valid argument.

When I played I used to run M10’s without many issues, Yes it can take 4-5 runs at m10 to get confident, but even that is hard to make some players understand. Its all about insta rewards.
Not sure anyone actually enjoys doing M10’s because of the utter dweebs that hang out there.

Compared to T4 Fractal’s M10 are simple, just don’t stand in front of the boss. There are very few insta wipe mechs in any of the mutations.

Most of the M10 mutations runs that failed for me were due to LA DPS dropping all the time, the amount if toons I picked off the ground was just plain silly. (Healers and Tanks fault of coarse)

Not sure why the uber mutation people just don’t run in dedicated groups, that way you will aways succeed they way you want to.

Perhaps it’s because people get fed up with temper tantrums sucking all the fun out of it.

Who knows.

DPS meters and combat logs are staples in most of today’s MMOs. There is no way you can optimize your character without them. Even personal ones would be sufficient so we can test out builds, try different gems, trophies etc. Its plain stupid that we don’t have these tools.

Stop taking things so personally folks, DPS meters would improve the gameplay exponentially.

Gotta love the gaming community nowadays.
Go play WoW if you wanna min/max there’s an entire 15yo MMORPG based on that playstyle there for you, its more balanced, the PvE content is actually challenging, and there are tons of players with your same “work” mentality on a videogame.
Oh right, unless you already cleared the content you can’t join any group, because even if you’re good, you didn’t do it yet so theres no proof of it.
Very fun, WoW is waiting you all, DF is a good expansion people say.

Yea I’ve the same opinion. I kinda would like to have dps meter just so these people get an actual realitycheck xD
They think leaderboards created a meta, they can’t even imagine in the slightest how different endgame would function with dps meters.

In MMO games, you should be able to compare yourself with other players. Change builds, change weapons, etc. That’s how you’ll see your progress. And the DPS meter is one of the most common things for a long time.
Let’s take a siege as an example, where you can see damage statistics. Why then did damage statistics have been added to PVP, which a limited number of players partisipate on high populated servers. Its more toxic than adding DPS meter to PVE.

Wanting to improve does not lead to toyix behavior. Same goes for reallife someone who doesnt want to improve just gets left behind. Thats life get on with it. If you dont want to improve thats fine but don’t expect anyone who wants to improve to waste his time with you.
And btw a dps meter for yourself wont spread toxic behavior it will only show every player how much he contributes to the team
