Add Poker to the game!

We have dice, we have coin toss, now we need poker!
I think it would be an amazing mini-game to play with friends.
Maybe we could have smaller poker tables inside of the bars of towns?
Or maybe it could be furnishing items, where a Poker Table is crafted and the games are played inside of player homes?
Think this could be a really fun addition to New World. Lightening the mood for the “serious” players that complain about “end game content” while also giving casual players a fun way to engage with the local community.
Any other ideas on how this could work? Anyone else think this may be a fun addition to New World?

imagine, an ingame casino, with like a 10% tax that gets burned into oblivion, basically a giant money sink to keep the economy somewhat stable

and no, the game wouldnt give you money off this, it would all be player funded!

Yes, asking for this addition to be player operated. No NPC mini-games. Not sure what the 10% tax is about, would you elaborate?

Poker would definitely be a game changer.

I like this idea. You could even take it further and put out bounties on those who default on their gambling debts. ;D

So, I asked Alexa - when was Poker invented - answer circa 1930’s derived from the Persian game As-Nas. As-Nas dates back to the 16th century - conclusion - seems it would fit with the 17th Century backdrop. Just sayin’

Darts would work. Craft a board with furnishing. Fibre and iron with a wood backing (the best traditional boards are still fibre). Craft darts at the forge with steel and feathers. The aim and shoot mechanism could replicate fishing (throw strength the same as casting distance). Simple programming since you already have the fishing mini game mechanic, adds some crafting, and makes for a fun game to play in the tavern.

Cheers

I would love to see minigames.

Personally, I would prefer if we got a table with n places and a deck (or two, or different deck) of cards and option to deal them and flip them and could play basically every card game in “card sand box”.

Would not mind chess and other tabletop games made in sand box fashion as well.

It is convenient when the game automatically processes the scores but it can be very limiting.

Records trace gambling in Japan back at least as far as the 14th century . Poker, the most popular U.S. card game associated with gambling, derives from the Persian game As-Nas, dating back to the 17th century. The first known casino, the Ridotto, started operating in 1638 in Venice, Italy.

so even if its not texas holdem or something betting with cards would most deff be fitting and poker was played in the 16th century (new world time period) with the first casino opening shortly after
