Add Solo Endgame Content!

  • Solo chest run areas itself as it sounds would be nice but… most likely they would still be slow with strong mobs that take way longer to clear than joining zerg. They would still be run by zergs for faster clear time. No one will waste their time clearing them solo. Basically what it would be “weaker” elite zones that could be cleared by solo players. Perhaps add more elite chests to open world boss 60+ locations so they would be worth visiting by solo players.

  • Expeditions could be scaling for sure and not require party to enter.

  • For solo content, they are buffing named mobs to drop 600GS items at open world. Would consider this incoming next patch. Well done AGS, give credit where credit’s due.

  • Role marking, it would be QoL upgrade. It comes when it comes.

  • Fun is different for anyone. Its not universal thing you can add to patchnotes. What makes game fun for one group of players might be pointless for the rest.

  • Run speed increase on roads would be nice, not to much but 20% could be tested.

It would be cool if they added instanced bosses like elden ring.

Would be cool. But the depth of combat is not even close to what elden ring is lol.

Some bosses we can solo in open world would be nice. Rest chest runs are soloable. Tempest and gen are solo dungeons as well. But defo some secret quest lines with mini bosses would be nice

Can we do more than expeditions and chest runs? Add dynamic triggers to various bit related to anything else related to cap.

Fishing cap can trigger water based boss mob event while fishing.

Capped mining discovers a sinkhole and cave for further rewards.

Going toe to toe x mobs triggers a specialist boss mob related to what weapon used when event is triggered. Boss mob has high chance of dropping said weapon of higher tier.

There is more than the stereotypical bits that can be done for “endgame”. A lot of us want more than just the repeatables for end game.

Personally I think solo versions of the expeditions would be cool but beyond that solo content in MMOs is almost always trash.

I soloed NW 2 times over. Still enjoy it.

More if you counts the wipes since Destiny stress test event (before Alpha 3).

I am glad you enjoy it… but… players like you literally add nothing to the game. They should focus on things that grow the community, not things that help RPG players ignore 99% of the game.

Then you ignore the ones who keep the gaming going between updates and expansions. You ignore the casuals.

Variety is what make an MMORPG an MMORPG. You want linear… Go for GW1.

Solo content would only work as intented in NW if it was instanced with some unique rewards to make it worth peoples while.

Otherwise folks will choose to go there with a group 9 out of 10 times to go around chests faster. Pointless.

I could see myself doing some solo content provided it would be a unique experience with new mechanics. Sadly that will not happen anytime soon.

I guess that’s where I would disagree. Yeah sure people will still zerg solo chest runs, but personally if I had an area to farm that had Elite Chest I would be there most of my time probably with a healer to make it smoother. Honestly if Myrk was changed to be soloable and fight thru killing mobs getting decent loot and looting Elite chest I would be there 70% of my time playing.
What do I do now playing? I sit in town thinking of what to do until the Next World Tour comes around.

Just thinking of WoW which from the Scot Lane interview I found out he played that. I spent most of my time doing Solo Daily Quest, they weren’t hard earned you decent gold and gear upgrades and it was kind of fun. Does it get old after 3 months sure, but have other solo content for me to do to take a break from that.
I have lots of Quest in NW I could be doing but they are all spread out all over the place don’t reward anything worthwhile and its the same old thing kill 10 mobs and loot 5 chest, it’s mind numbing boring.

There is a new solo game coming out soon kind of harry potter game RPG ! You should take a try and solo has not his place in a MMORPG !

False

A huge majority of all casuals are soloists. And we all know casuals are the spine of the MMORPG. Between large updates and expansions, casuals keep the game going.

This is pretty much correct, Arcadia is casual. Spend a little time doing dungeons, opr, arena, chest runs ect. But i spend a lot of time gathering, running solo chest areas, pit lord in shattered and stuff in there.

I would definitely enjoy myself more if there were elite chests i could fight to get to that didn’t involve a 50 person zerg. It would be slower, sure. But i don’t think it needs to be trivial.

They could easily make some of the world boss chests elite, or add a few here and there to the solo chest areas and put a few tough mobs on them. I dunno.

I don’t always have a group to run with for that stuff, and the friends that i had that DID like to do that kind of stuff with me all left. I don’t see what it would hurt personally :woman_shrugging:

I’m not asking for any super extensive development time to be spent anywhere, just a tweak or two would be nice. In any case i’ll still do me, you can still go do you.

Exactly
I am a soloist about 95% of the time. I have well over 2K hours in the game.

I would like to see more solo based fun. Even solo option for dungeons should be viable. It’s why I still enjoy DDO scalable dungeon for solo, party, even hardcore… Solo hardcore runs are fun!

In NW… I roam the zones and push how far I can go solo. I want more!

Arcadia is not an adrenaline junky, but while i spend my evenings playing i do not always have time that i can dedicate where i absolutely cannot get pulled away for a few minutes or so.

So for me, something that’s going to run for an hour or two is out because i will have to pause for a bit and come back. So a lot of content is out for me, not that i’m unwilling, but a lot of people are not willing to wait for me.

So chest runs they don’t stop, dungeon runs they definitely don’t want to wait lol.

But in the open world i can go at my own pace and still enjoy the game. I dunno, Potato Potato.

In that way, i know that i’ll never likely run mutations or have BiS or anything like that. And i’m not asking for handouts either before someone comes in here breaking the doors down about welfare legendaries or something.

I think the new patch does a lot for drops and i hope it stays that way, i’m very excited for it.

I can relate. I’m primary care taker for my kids. After raising 12, you realize planned or long running events dont do well.

That would be awesome but pretty expensive (dev time). If they just adjust the dynamic HP scaling of open world bosses/expeditions/elite mobs/corruption portals so that they can be soloed/duoed in a reasonable amount of time, would open a lot of content for solo players. It’s an “easy” fix, the hardest part being get the right balance on the HP scaling and tweaking some expeditions to make them soloable.

They could even add anti-zerg mechanics if they use an exponential HP scaling, making it take longer to kill a boss with 50 players than with 5. Not sure if it is a good idea, but is possible to do.
