Addressing the mute cap complaints

Hey 1K is nothing to balk at. That’s a lot of time.

Nice work. I think it’s interesting how you saw crafting as a time sink with no benefit… and went straight for farming expeditions and caches.

its just not my gameplay, if i want to farm i go play Minecraft.

I like the Combat of NW thats why, Expedition and PvP are the only Combat scenario NW offers.

I think you are misunderstanding. I am saying if you want to make the loot BOP then we need to increase quality another factor of 10 because I still don’t see any items drop that I can actually use and I play 3 different roles. It’s not even a question of it being an upgrade - like I literally get just utter garbage. Most of the gear is dropping with a high percentage of resilient on it. IF i can find a ward piece in my bags… it will be Ward + Int + LS Perk or be Ward + FOC + Healing Perk but it’s Heavy. It just makes me want to skin baby seals.

“I was there, back in the before times, so I’ll tell you. Rarely would you actually find upgrades, instead you would have to sell what you could and buy something better. It turns out players hate this system.”

Apparently you haven’t played Path of Exile. You can play that game for weeks and not get a useful drop. You are CONSTANTLY having to “sell” or trade with other players to get what you want AND you have to go to a third party site to do it. That game is pretty darn popular from what I’ve seen.

For example i would love this!

Grind expedition for the only objective to gear up YOURSELF.

LOVE IT.

Dont like to grind expeditions? go buy on TP.
Since the only stuff on TP will be from Crafters(since EXP drop would be BoP) this will put crafters in a higher position on the TP.
(edit: there will be some items on the TP that are not crafted, like all the items that do not drops from exp, like open world chest; but it will limit the M10DROPS Problem.)

BTW Rng is a faulty beast, i did my 25 m10 runs this week, do you wanna know how many leggendary did i keep ?

1 a BOP COS Chardis’like helm with resi fredom and wreckinball.

Really like this.

Great! Let it devalue so that everyone can actually feel good with their gear and not have to spend 1000s of gold just for a single piece.

I look on the Trading Post and see items going for 300K, 500K, 700K…

And two thoughts go through my mind:

  1. Yo dawg, that trading post fee man!
  2. Well there’s a RMT going down, there’s another RMT going down, there’s another RMT going down…

There are some things so incredibly off price, you really have to wonder.

Its tough to conceptualize how this would play out, but it feels like it would definitely be easier on the back-end for balancing. Right now, both crafting and expedition drops threaten to ruin the market. If expedition fed into crafting it’d be much easier to manage.

Also it would further justify crafting, which in my opinion is one of the best aspects of the game.

When I first started expeditions I’d try to clear my bags during slow spots, but that gave me too much anxiety. Now I hold it to the end, but what gets under my skin is when we’re trying to start a boss but my four team mates take turns doing the inventory-check turnaround and its so tempting to open the mic and say “HEY YALL GET THEM BAGS STRAIGHT ITS SUPER IMPORTANT NO ILL WAIT ITS JUST AN M10”

I both utilized daily umbrals and farm for money, so I basically did the minimum number of expeditions needed for gypsum, bought end game stuff, then used my daily umbrals to take it all to 623 so I could run the big mutes.

Also maybe I’m wrong but I try to get at least Ward+Luck on all my expedition gear. If I didn’t do that then a lot of those purples that drop would be considered usable I guess.

I’m definitely not because I’ve made this exact same argument either here or another thread =D

I did some shitty math there and came up with a .32% chance to get a 2-perk drop with the right armor class and attributes. So yes, loot quality is currently still pretty shit and would need a big increase if everything went BOP, but the game would arguably be better.

I’ve got over 2k hours on that game =D

Its popular despite the shitty market system, and if you ever watch any dev interviews you’ll know they hate the market and wish they could BoP everything but too much of the community would get mad.

Solo Self Found is the game mode that enables this, people who are good at the game love it and they’ve been pushing it for a while.

When WoW first came out and introduced the BoP system I railed against it, but now I’m definitely seeing the utility of it.

Basically, if you have more than twice the amount of classes than a player will want to keep loot for, then that loot will be cheaper to buy than to farm. And most gamers like both the rush of receiving loot and the knowledge that they farmed the shit themselves.

I’m pretty curious to see where AGS takes this game

you dont need luck on gear for expedition.

Luck works only for named items.

I heard they affect named items and the chance to get perks. So for instance the number of 600 GS items stays the same, but number of them that roll Legendary are increased.

Its hard to find that information online though. Also I don’t mind the extra named item drops. The one item I really want from BB hasn’t dropped yet and im about 2500 materia in so far.

Nope.
There is a Dev post on forum where they explain luck in full.
The more luck you have, the more chanche you have to access the ^named item^ POOL.

Thats it, it doesnt increase quality of perks or the number of leggo you get.

Try to look for the Dev post, but this is the harsh truth ;(

Why you still bring dungeon finder ? Dungeon finder it’s not like in other games where it actually gets people together and it’s not cross server but it’s just a separate recruitment chat :joy: I don’t understand why they even call it dungeon finder :hamsa:

I didn’t say time, I said content. You spent that time running the same content over and over again. There’s less content here.

Legendary drop chances were cut down to 1/4 their original drop chance and a 25 weekly mutation cap was put up.

To compensate players, we have a better chance at BiS.

They got to 25 by calculating every player in their database’ mutator count, including players who had quit before mutations came out. All those 0s bring down an average. Number should be closer to 50.

or simply no limit at all, or just just limit umbral shards after 25 (or any other shard mechanism)
