AFK timer is getting really annoying!

For me it is the crafting. Im crafting 300 shield, well it takes time for that. Before im done im overweight and the message pops. Very annoying.

It is super annoying, but removing it from using the trading post and such would just make AFK people open a trading window to stop from being kicked.

If there is a way to make changing pages or clicking on an item in the TP count as an action, that would resolve the annoyance.

Yeah, the game should at least recognize game play. If your constantly fishing, or cleaning up your storage, or surfing the trading post, you don’t want to be pulled from the immersion of the game to to deal with the AFK timer, when clearly, you should be doing tons of things that would prove your still there.

I don’t think botting is a thing if your moving things around in your storage, or surfing the trading post, or crafting a ton of things at once. Why have the AFK timer ignore mouse movements in those places.

Have the AFK timer as a question, so the player doesn’t have to quit what they are doing, they can just type the answer, and keep playing.

There is no danger of the server queuing, so the AFK timer is basically pointless.

How about this, set the delay before it asks if your still there to 60 - 120 minutes. That way, you don’t have to learn how to make it detect mouse movements, you just have to change the timers time. Extremely simple fix.

Clearly, if they are still there, they will most like finish doing what they are doing within 60 -120 minutes, and start moving again.

I have to deal with the AFK timer at least 6 times a session, and it’s really annoying at this point.

Immersion is important to you for the players, right? Well, this is breaking immersion, over, and over again.

Afk timer should be in game , already game have many afk farmer…

No problem with the timer…however…it should not trigger when actively drafting, or listing items on the TP, or fishing, etc.

I’m guessing they do this for the BOTs? While we see a lot of them harvesting lol.

No was cuz of afk farmer/ que

Clearly, the AFK timer isn’t stopping the AFK farmers. So all it’s really doing is annoying genuine players of the game.

If someone is able to make a bot, there are also able to overcome a AFK timer. So having it for that reason, doesn’t make much sense, and also having it not detect mouse movement, which at least would supposedly make it harder on the botter, doesn’t make sense.

So you have a AFK timer, that is so limited, that it can’t see actual game play being done… smh

But that AFK timer does annoy me when I’m market shopping and I have to move and start my damn search all over LOL.

I think this whole mechanic was introduced to combat fishing bots and people afk’ing the first week when there were massive queue times. I agree though. Even a programmer that only knows the hello world bit of code should have known that bots and afk’ing people with mouse or keyboard capable of basic macros would have the system defeated about 2 microseconds after it was announced. It’s amazing this severe annoyance hasn’t been removed from the game already. This is AGS though. So…welp…yeah. We’re stuck with it.

Getting? It’s been annoying since day 1.

LMAO Okay girl!

Umm ok? Maybe you like it, that’s your call.

Well, I’ve only recently come back to playing the game, and I don’t remember the AFK timer being this bad when I last played.

AFK timer was mainly to kick people that weren’t really playing to open up a space for someone else to logon, but there is plenty of space now, because the player population is really low. So for that reason it’s not needed.

Fighting bots would probably work better, if the GM’s listened to players reporting them. In EQ, we could just message a GM, and the GM would come and be invisible, and watch the supposed bot, and if they agree, they will talk to the player, and if the player doesn’t respond, they will kick, and possibly ban that account.

Don’t make it a automated ban system, it would be controlled by an actual GM. I don’t think that there are that many bots, that a couple of GM’s couldn’t take care of them.

Wasn’t here on day 1, but it is also no longer a new feature.

I think the timer should only kick in (using the current timeframe) if there is a queue and if there is no queue then definitely increase the time. I don’t think you should be able to sit afk for hours but definitely an increase.

How come this is way more attention than feedback post that I have done way back? Ok next time I will post it here in general chat fu AGS

Yeah, well they’ve passed it onto the devs before. No idea what this means really.

Could be the devs think no, could be they would like to be have other priorities, could be it doesn’t make it to the devs.

i mean the game can detect that you are moving your mouse and browsing no?

Apparently not, that’s why the AFK timer kicks on, because apparently it can’t tell.
