After 100+ Outpost Rush games, here are my proposal changes I think the game mode should have

  1. There should be an armoury at spawn, the PvP and PvE food are valuable, needing a fort to buy them when you’re 3 flags down and getting dominated can make it harder for a comeback when you can’t acquired those 15% damage and defence buffs. Have an armoury at the back at the spawn would make things easier to acquire for the losing team.

  2. Have a spawn barrier, no one wants to spawn and die, no one wants to be camped by the ONLY exit for spawn too so there needs to be 3 exits minimum that sorta “guide” the player to the place they want to go to, the middle part is obviously detrimental to get access to the middle flag asap, there could be a left exit for those that tend to want to get the trees and farm azoth and right side to get base flag or mines. Then of course this would allow for exits that can’t be camped as hard.

  3. All food needs to be removed from the hotbar and unable to use and replaced with low/medium health pots OR spawn with no potions and change the armoury to let you buy let’s say 10 medium potions for 25 azoth to encourage more PvE. Healers are annoying, so are those mini Mohammad Ali mages or bow/musket+rapiers that can feel untouchable but what’s more annoying is them getting close to death than being full health again thanks to infused health potions, sure it costs money to buy but 100 infused pots (being 3g on my server) costs 1 game worth for 10+ games worth. People shouldn’t get a get out of jail card, they should get a small portion of health back to give them a chance but they should be punished and die when they’re caught, no one enjoys chasing for ages. Let’s us fight and die like gentlemen and move on.

  4. Let us have an option to remove only ally names, I can’t see shite already with the 15 names in middle flag as a mage (on top of that there’s about 2000 numbers on my screen from ice storm), let me hide my ally nameplates so I can see the enemy more clearly.

  5. Change the currency, I feel like when I tell my dopey team mates about these extremely strong PvP/PvE pots that it costs azoth they’re not aware it’s a different thing from normal Azoth, no fault to them, just think it should called something else.

  6. Buff the yield amount of from resources, no one wants to get FIVE wood from a tree when you need 100+ for the commander post or something, it’s so slow, maybe people would be inclined to use the cannons/repeaters/oil if it didn’t take 3/4 of the game to make it, also buff their HP for love of god they break so easily.

  7. Rework the score and change the scoreboard UI itself, the war one is better, I want to see how I compared to others in damage or when I heal how I did, have damage received too for the tank lovers, I don’t care how many NPCs the other players killed (though you should keep that in anyways). I’ve dealt 750k+ damage and got ranked 20+ since I’m not getting kills, it’s clear damage doesn’t matter but kill participation does, healers are getting absurd amount of points since they’re always contributing to the kill as healing the ally counts as an assist. I think there needs to be a rework in score in itself, I don’t want DPS to dominate the score board or any particular class/style, anyone should be able to take rank 1 by either being a good DPS, good healer, good tank or good PvE’er contributing resources.

  8. Let us queue from anywhere, people would be inclined to search if people didn’t need to be at the settlement, this would help for slow queues if people knew they could do whatever they were doing and go back right at after the games done.

  9. Nerf brute (just a little), I’m talking 600 azoth instead and health doesn’t regen, he should be rewarded for doing PvE stuff but he’s a little strong. Make his hitbox smaller too, sometimes he’s more bad than good when you can’t enter the middle flag since he’s blocking it lol.

  10. Obviously this is already requested but make outpost cross server, my only additional idea on top of this is to maybe have a separate queue that lets you do server vs server that does a Rocket League style X vs Y across the screen, maybe even make it announce in both servers in chat saying “X is facing Y in outpost rush!”, bit of competition between servers. Would be icing on cake if you were to somehow cheer in those games for your server and even spectate but let’s keep it simple.

  11. Leaderboards please, I want to see the ranks of every player on the server, who has the most kills, most points, most deaths, NPC kills, anything that is shown on the leaderboard but added up over time. I want to see ranks for each weapon type, who’s the “best” firestaff user? Who’s the best healer? This is a big one for me, I like competition and I like to strive for something. What’s the furthest musket/bow hit? The highest single damage hit? The longest someone lived before dying? Best KDA? Stupid stuff even like longest fireball hit. It is an MMO and there’s something charming about these silly stats we can look at.

  12. Finally, give an incentive to play and let us kick AFKers. Rewards need to vary even more, rank 1-5 should get the big bucks, they’ve worked so hard to get there why should they get the same as everyone else pretty much? Chop the rewards by each 5 ranks, 1-5 should be KINGS, every 5 ranks the reward is 5% less or something or maybe the chests give an extra item with more of a chance to push watermark? There should be a score threshold that updates with the others, if the average score is 2000, 500 should be the threshold to pass in order to get a reward, this would go up as the average score goes up. Average is now 4000? You need 1000. OPR is a nice gold source and the worst players should have an incentive to play too but I think it’s a little crappy to be doing well with little to show.

1.Buff should be given to the team that did the most damage-currently the other team won’t even bother fighting for it if they’re there second, and just skulk at the edges to try and snipe the buff.

2.block off the cliffs around her arena-people are climbing up there and using it to snipe and attack the other team while being mostly out of reach

3.Buff her damage- people just ignore her and fight around her all the time, and she can be killed with just a few fighters. Make her an actual threat that needs teamwork.

Ive been on both sides of the sniping, but really I dont know how to change this. Its supposed to be a clutch sort of thing, I think, and if a team is getting pummeled, their only chance might be the snipe. I am not sure that 3 minutes of no score is the right thing either, or even a buff towards point accumulation.

Baroness should probably simply not exist, really. Maybe the best thing would be to make her provide 200 points or something outright.

1 you could into games actually during the day and night
2 then we could have the player base for marauder vs syndicate games or stuff like that to make it feel a bit more competitive in a sense

Agree with most of this.

There need to be better options for visibility here for healers as well. We have the opposite problem. When people on my team are in the front lines with a bunch of enemies, I can never see their health. Their nameplate is never shown over enemies. The best I can do in that situation is toss a beacon towards a cluster of players to hopefully get a HoT on someone.

I also hope they let us see our team on the map and right-click afk report. Sometimes it seems like one team has twice as many active players as the other, but the scoreboard shows the same number of people and you can’t even see your team on the map so you don’t know if half of them are standing afk in a corner somewhere.

I agree with most of this. My main agreements and my own points:

1). Spawn protection. Very needed, should have been there from the start. I’ve had instances where my team was farmed/farmed the other team for 10 minutes. Shouldn’t happen.

2). I’d go the opposite route, and make all health potions, food items and ammo free in outpost rush. That way everyone is on an equal playing field, with no consumable imbalances.

3). The brute just needs an outright nerf. Not much else to say here. Takes too long to kill.

4). Queueing from anywhere is very needed. I’ve legit queued up for a game, gone fishing, queue popped in 5 minutes. I get back, teleport to town, queue in again, teleport back and then resume fishing. Repeat the process after every match. Just shouldn’t be necessary.

5). I’d love to see some server versus server content, be it wars, outpost rush, capture the flag, or something else. It does get a little tiring constantly seeing the same faces.

6). I’d make it impossible to climb up the cliffs behind baron. I’ve had many cases of musket players just hiding where they can’t really be found or harassed, just waiting to snipe baron.

7). I outright don’t agree with any leaderboards. It just encourages selfish playstyles.

They don’t seem to be adding queue from anywhere or any queue improvements in the next big patch (at least not that I’ve seen yet). I’m not sure if that’s because they don’t want to or if it’s just that it will take more time. If queue from anywhere isn’t happening right away because it requires UI changes, I think a faster temporary fix would be to add a chat command to let us queue from anywhere until a UI element can be added.

IE: let us type /joinopr in chat and have that queue us and our group if we’re grouped for OPR. Seems like that would be easier and faster to add ASAP.

but It sucks when you don’t get anything after getting spawn camped 10 minutes solid.

I agree with pretty much everything you said.

I think there should be points awarded for capturing point and a trickle of points if you stay on point after the capture.

I also think there should be more points awarded for working with your group to encourage the groups to stay together and work as a team.

There also needs to be a better balancing system. I see so many games are very one-sided but when you get two good teams it makes a better match. It should match based upon weapons slots. There should be a similar number of Tanks, Healers, Melee DPS on both teams. I have seen it where there were 7 healers on one team and 1 on the other. It was a crushing game.

The brute should not be able to regen its health by them running from it and causing it to retreat and regen.

Baroness needs work too, The points should be awarded to the team that damaged it the most. Not the last person to hit it. This is very annoying and ruins OPR for me. So many times I take the time to go kill it and the other team snipes it at the last minute.
