AG literally does not care

My understanding overloaded servers are being locked to push over to the non populated servers and they also stated in the coming week i think they are unlocking server transfers and the factions locks based on faction population or which one is has the most controlled land.

However there a exploit now that allows a few people to flip territories easy

You know OP, you’re absolutely right. Damn AGS. ABSOLUTELY Zero Communication with Players. I say we all request a refund and shut down New World at once!!! AGS should never never tried. /s

I agree that things may look vastly different in a few months as we see how it plays out as the game is currently designed. I think it’s odd they wanted to cater to the pve crowd and yet perhaps one group can control an entire server and pump up taxes to push away anyone else. I can see this being a thing for those that want all the perks of controlling their own private server.

You think it’s weird that they cater to the majority of MMORPG players? Alrighty then…

  • There are both forum posts and twitter posts about major and minor issues being fixed.

  • On my server there are 3 zones of yellow, rest is mixed green and purple.
On my brothers server there are majority green, rest is purple and yellow.
Wait a few days when people start figuring out how to war and it should balance itself out.

  • Tons of bugs have been fixed and tons will be fixed. Bugs will always be present in games, it is impossible to fix them all. Hence, there is not one single game that has fixed them all. It is impossible.

The game is fantastic in many ways and has amazing potential, but to me, it feels like a “live beta”. It does feel like there are things that need attention. I’ve experienced bugs I wouldn’t expect in a newly released game.

I truly hope these things will be fixed and some quality of life aspects given attention because i am enjoying the game and want it to be a long-term commitment, that said, I’ve stayed loyal to games in the past only to end up disappointed by the standard of development/communication/improvements.

We will see.

No forum posts adressing major issues like the locked servers?
I can find so many posts about that… so I think you need to look better on the forum…

And I didn’t really encounter any (serious) bugs, just a few small ones after 6 days playing. The game is just launched, relax…

See the problem?

I understand your frustration, you point out some red flags, I hope u r wrong and the game is successful, but these new mmos now days have made me a pessimist.

What exactly do you expect them to do about the faction balance? I mean personally I think factions were a bad idea as people always will join the most dominate one, but as it stands the mechanic is there and they can’t force people to join other factions.

Yeah they addressed the queue times because it was destroying their reviews on Steam and hurting their bottom line. Any dev posts about the countless in-game bugs or their plans for fixing them going forward? Are there even patch notes explaining what HAS been fixed? Nope.

BTW I have no idea why my post made you so angry.

You deserve a cookie. made me laugh so much.

AGS has been in communication every day. They have commented on many of the major complaints. They have been implementing some solutions since day 1. Just because they aren’t saying exactly what you want them to say, or fixing things in the order you want them to be fixed, or in the exact way you want it to be fixed, doesn’t mean they aren’t working on it or not communicating.

Mindlessly pandering to the whiners on the forums =/= effective communication & problem solving.

This game has ran smoothly and has offered the most fun I have had in any game in decade. It is well made and the launch is going well despite what chronic whiners like to believe. The devs have been in communication. They have been working on solutions. Sure it’s not perfect or bug free. No game is. But it is functioning well and most importantly it is very fun.

In 100% seriousness, please show me anything from the devs that is addressing issues other than queue times. Because their Twitter is nothing but “we’re fixing queues” and re-tweeting memes and streamer clips.

Please show me something that has been complained about more than queue times. Fixes require prioritization. They prioritized the biggest issue, which is smart. Doesn’t mean they haven’t or won’t fix anything else.

How about the countless UI bugs that get complained about endlessly? AGS has known about them since alpha and haven’t even so much as said they’re working on them.

But a problem with queues that is affecting reviews and pushing them into the “Mixed” category on Steam, directly affecting sales and causing people to request refunds? That lit a fire under their ass.

Fixing bugs doesn’t increase their profit, so it’s a low priority. They no doubt have more people working on the first paid DLC pack than they do on bug fixes.

If you actually paid any sort of attention to the forums instead of complaining you might actually find sometimes. Jesus Christ.

What would you like AGS to do? Have you on speed dial and call you with up to the minute news with New World bugs and fixes.

To be fair, the communication has been horrible in comparison to other MMO launches. Sorry, you don’t get brownie points for a small page of patch notes (that was released at 2a) and a post addressing players about the insane queueing issues. Queue issues that they could have reduced GREATLY had they just addressed the community and set expectations for the server size etc.

Would have been nice if they could have at least finished replacing the “place holder” images for items. Half of them don’t even show images in the preview either.

Hey everyone,

We understand that frustrations are running high and that everyone is having a different experience within New World.

To address some of the points brought up in this thread:

  • Server “lock” (Full status, if I understand the frustration correctly) was instituted because certain worlds within regions were seeing DRAMATICALLY higher numbers of individuals who wanted to play on that particular server. With server capacity being worked on, one of the ways we found to effectively mitigate the growing queue issue was to limit new character creation on popular worlds. We know this is super frustrating for some, as you are wanting to play with friends or family and that is why we are also aiming to offer server transfers later this week.
  • Server imbalance can feel super disheartening, especially when you aren’t on the “winning team.” The good news is, the War team thought of this issue when they were designing the Influence mechanic in game. It’s not explained super well in game, and that is part of some work we are going to have to do in the future, but if Purple gets too lackadaisical Green and Yellow can be poised to strike at a moment’s notice!
  • Patch notes are super important to us! There was actually a brief moment in time when there was a discussion on whether the changes from Open Beta to Launch were actually important to call out, and turns out they are! We post notes on every single update we release. We have through all of last Alpha and we’ll keep going well into Launch and beyond.

Calling New World “riddled with bugs” is kind of disingenuous. Are there issues in game? Absolutely! We wouldn’t have a section dedicated to the reporting of Bugs and Exploits if we thought we didn’t have any or if we weren’t interested in hearing about them. Player reports of bugs are super useful. If you encounter bugs, please report them so our QA team can hunt them down and squash 'em. The team has actually fixed a veritable mountain of bugs prior to New World’s launch and they are still hustling to address the ones that are left. So if you see something, please head over to the Bugs section and call it out so we can work towards addressing it!

Lastly, we know tensions are running hot. Some players have waited years to get into New World fully. The Forums and community as a whole is a place where people can go to be civil and constructive and not vitriolic. Posting with the intent of causing unrest is not ok. We are all here wanting New World to be a great game and for the community to be an awesome, safe community. Keep it civil, keep it constructive, and let’s all work together to enjoy a game we are all super excited to be playing.

Thank you for your understanding and for your help with both making New World a better game and keeping the community a safe and constructive place for fans to congregate.

We’ll see you in Aeternum!
