AGS, can we PLEASE get a New World token similar to WoW tokens? We ALL want it!

Wow is a game made easy to kids it was made by Everquest devs and made just like eq but easy and they target kids with commercials so no they will not made this like wow if you don’t like it go back to wow

Ähm… NO! Not all of us want such shit, go back to wow

You may have not learned the term in school yet, so I’d suggest you look up “false dichotomy.”

And then stop using them.

All and all you understood what I was trying to say. The biggest issue with that is that there is not many ways to generate coins into the economy right now.

  1. ) Quests - they are limited. Especially when it comes down to story and side quests.
  2. ) Hunting monsters.
  3. ) Expeditions.
  4. ) Ruling a territory - bring some coins back into the economy, however it’s has a narrow path of distribution towards small group of players.

So essentially what would inflation leads to : Not what in general would lead to. Not every material or service in this game can survive an inflation. Take for example running expeditions - the only way it’s possible to do expeditions right now it’s because the raw goods invested into a Tuning orb is no that high. That allows players to run expeditions and generate coins that way. What would happen if alchemy motes go up in price due to inflation? That would be a huge problem… because the net coins you get from an expedition is FIXED amount. That means it would not be reflecting the inflation situation at all. And if you reach a point where it would be e no go, to make an orb and run expeditions with your friends because of expensive materials while expecting the same amount of X coins as a reward from it… Well guess what people stop doing expeditions as one of the prime coin generating mechanic in the game → Even less and less value for in-game coin generation which will lead to heavily dependent economy on unpredictable coin injection… I mean do we really want the entire economy to be controlled by unpredictable and uncontrollable shady operations?

What about Angry Earth?

the guy is a real joke he wants to be able to pay real money to buy gold but he got his friend banned a few days ago because he actually bought gold with irl money, THIS GUY HAS TO BE A TROLL

otherwise I’ve just never seen such a coward/dumb*ss in my lifetime

WTF

Amazon, if you’re reading this; I will quit this game the moment something like this WOW P2W trash shows up in your in game store. period.

That is why I told the guy I think you were really trying to argue with that allowing people to generate gold in exchange for real money is, despite having nothing to do with my original point, a terrible idea that messes up the ingame economy.

Because the token would cause inflation and in the end only whales and farmers will be able to afford anything.

It is not like the wow token at all. It seems many players have noted why the suggestion is not good for the game.

NO, you’ve only given them another way to make more money and destroy NW.

Why are you telling me what I just said?
You guys need to double check whom you’re quoting.

bugs bunny meme No.

It wouldn’t eliminate bots. It would only lower their price to just 10% less than the proposed token. The solution is to remove bots altogether and make gold selling such a cumbersome operation it becomes impossible to sustain even in 3rd world countries.

It’s a very bad idea to suggest to a company on monetization systems that affect gameplay. It shows consumer intention and if a big honcho sees it, it’ll get shoehorned in.

For now AGS has only done cosmetic and that’s fine.

not all bots are gold seller you know? Some of them bot for themselves. There will still have bots. Lots of them. They can make a account so fed with gears and high trade skills with bot money, and then sell accounts too.

Not true.

Blizzard just got better at hiding them by giving them specific instance farms, spend some time around Nighthold and /who instances from Legion and on to see how many Demon Hunters there are farming.

RMT will always exist, because gold will always be cheaper through 3rd party sites than through official channels.

You never know what is happening in wow because sharding makes it appear to be like a ghost town.

HARD PASS! NOOOOOO!
There are other pay to win games!

tl;dr: No.

Long:
As others have stated: this would totally derail the economy. Archeage had a similar thing, and it ended up that those with the most money quickly became dominant. A token such as this would very quickly end up p2w. Don’t want to grind gold or mats to make tuning orbs for end game dungeons? Throw up cash. Want to keep declaring war? Throw up cash. Want to craft a bunch of items to try to get the best perks and stats? Why, instead of people spending time to get the materials just throw up some cash and buy all the mats! In a game where so much of the end game revolves around a player-led economy (from gear to dungeons to war), this would be devastating.

It also wouldn’t remove bots, gold sellers or anything like that. They would just lower their prices. Guaranteed. (e.g. in Archeage, gold seller prices were typically tied to the value of the token in that game you could sell.) Want to know how AGS can make money? Easy: look at GW2. GW2 has been going on, with a health population, for YEARS by largely selling cosmetics. There are some “advancement” items, but the game has also been out for many years, so it’s not as worrisome (there is also no real gear grind). GW2 also allows people to buy gold directly, but there’s no gear grind so it doesn’t imbalance anything. Similarly for WoW, the game is old enough there would not be that huge of an issue. To introduce now into NW would immediately render it nothing more than a niche p2w game where the wealthiest people held the territories.

(P.S. On a number of servers, popular streamers and their guilds hold sizable territories. Now imagine if you had streamer $$ funneling directly into gear, wars, etc… yikes!)

The op is a troll. I appreciate the well thought out post but you are responding to a thread started by a troll.
