AGS - Developers or Pushovers?

you are forgetting that caps will be raised in the future inevitably. these things that you are finding problematic will not actually be problems. unless the dev team dont actually raise caps but I cant see a future where that happens

Actually don’t bother replying again we’re both wasting time in this conversation. Have fun in your topic mate, and at least try to comprehend this TLDR:

When you shit on people’s efforts, they get upset. That’s why the newest change to expertise was lovely

Sorry for wasting your time then. Have a good day.

I fully agree with the OP. I was very much looking forward to hitting 60 and having to actually still play the game to work on my character. As it stands I will hit 60 tomorrow, buy full (nearly) bis gear and be done with the game entirely.

Too many generation z in this game, imagine having to play a game and and actually work for something. Spoiled kids.

Sure, when gear score caps are raised this system will work as intended but until then? And do we really know how long down the road that will be? Could be months and players are just going to keep the same gear they had on before this patch until then, or craft themself something nice. That’s almost no progression for any smart player until the gear score is raised- and at that point it will still be the same group of players complaining that they now have to level up their watermark, or I guess they can just craft their way up again- which would be too easy. Crafting doesn’t need to check every box, it doesn’t need to be the best way to get the best gear, the best way to make money, and the best way to have a high expertise level

I stated before that I have multiple crafting skills maxed and my HWM is also not maxed so I am definitely not suggesting that only “my” preferred way of playing the game be the ideal one.

Do you have a bias against crafters? for to many games crafting has been a pointless effort because best gear come from drops. And now people who enjoy crafting have the option to not be pointless and you think its unfair?

No bias, this change will just make me be a crafter, I have plenty of gold to level up the ones I will need. Everything the crafters complained about the water mark levelers could say the same now. They waisted their time leveling up their watermark when crafting is by far the best way to get good gear, it won’t even be comparable now that you can craft a stat and a perk, getting random watermark drops will be extremely rare to get something usable compared to the crafting. The change also hurts the fun part of crafting- doing it for your friends or as a means to make gold, everyone will just craft for themselves now.

nobody was complaining that elite runs were “by far the best way to get good gear”. people were complaining that crafting was not getting equal representation in the update.

this part though i really dont know why they did it. With this they really are making PvE players forced to craft and i really dont see what the positive of lowering drops was.

Wait until you actually level it up and then have to get trophies. You’ll see how little effort HWM farming was compared and quickly change your tune. Lol

I have the two I need, arcana and armor leveled up and max trophies, watermarking took way more time and I’m not even maxed water marked in most things.

No one was complaining because watermarking isn’t the best way to get best in slot gear
currently crafted items are easier to guarantee a high gear score and to guarantee a perk, crafting is currently the best way to get BiS items. With the upcoming changes with being able to guarantee a stat and a perk, and crafting it yourself gives you the expertise level of the gearscore- there is very little reason to do anything other than craft.

I’m sorry but there’s no way that’s accurate. If you’re buying all of the materials you aren’t factoring in the time to get the gold. If you’re farming the materials you’re straight up lying. It’ll take alot longer to max a craft than getting HWM to 600. Lol

They are doing this but to frame it as “just” as if it’s somehow trivial is really disingenuous. It’s a cardinal rule of progression based games like MMOs that you do not ever walk back or undo the player progression, that what people grind to earn they get to keep.

The primary intent behind the new system was to take away the end game HWM grind which everyone universally sees as kinda boring and mundane and just an obstacle to progression rather than intrinsically fun, and replace that with end game activies themselves such as PvP, crafting etc. That new system still achieves that, it adds diversity to how you progress from 500-600 and that’s a good thing (depending on how it’s balanced). All that has changed is now that some people wont get an unimaginable nerf to their progress.

not really, most players are still not 60, and the content they wanted wasn’t grinding. Most players can’t afford the good gear on the TP.

You essentially want crafting to check every box, I think it should just be the best way to create best in slot items, which it would be either way. The updated changes to the system they were gonna put in makes crafting check every box, there isn’t any downside. Not being a crafter will be a massive disadvantage.

Wrong again. Items have clustered stats and often roll with some synergy. This is explained in andev post. You can currently force one Stat or one talent. The average cost is around 30k for a single ilv 600 piece of gear. How much does It cost for a random Ilv 600 from a chest?..

Saying that GS farming is “content” is a little bit of a stretch honestly.

All you are doing is increasing one number so it gives you a tad bit more stats overall, which couldn’t be lazier. I really can’t fathom how people feel compelled to chase goals like these when they are so mindnumbly boring and simple, or how that even brings some form of enjoyment.

Your X gear set that had 500 gearscore now has 600. You know what changed? Some numbers are a % higher, wow!
