agree there is hype and we all love us some NW hype. but that hype is only for a few players. Alot are uneffected by this hype since they cant deal with the “P2W” feeling of PvP and gold value on the servers.

Don’t forget they still have the September dev update vid to be released. They intentionally held back some announcements and surprises from the August vid. They said it themselves. Let’s just wait it out for now.
Dont get me wrong, i hope your right. I really do! But if this was the case why would they not calm down the playerbase and in the same time increase the hype many fold? Look at the upset on reddit and forums. What do they gain by holding this to their chest?

Still think it’s way too soon for an old school/classic experience and I don’t think people truly want to relive all of the aspects of launch haha.
Temporary no-transfer servers that eventually open up to everyone else would be cool. Maybe with a 6 month period where you can’t transfer into it. Anything permanent is just going to fragment the current community unnecessarily. Would be a shame to see the game resurge and then have all of the players that supported AGS the most get isolated on dying servers.
The wonderful thing about an MMORPG is that continuity you have with your character.

Out of all the arguments I’ve read on the forums regarding the cons of fresh servers, the fragmentation of the already small community of NW is imo the issue that is most likely going to occur.
Maybe it’ll be wise to play by ear and see how popular the fresh servers are & how many people jump ship - it could be a FF14 situation where a clean slate a year after launch is what the players need/want?

since all server suffered from Duplications / gold exploiters / gold sellers
All servers are inflated with gold beyond imagination.
Fresh start will be a hard reset to all that which is one of the main reasons why this is the perfect time to do it now.

That just isn’t the reality in terms of duping/exploits being a direct issue. I think people just inflate it. It’s actually a much smaller impact than people think in terms of actual lasting damage to the game. The psychological effect definitely was much greater and demoralized many players.
Now the current territory system has had a much greater impact than dupes (there is the indirect impact of people that duped getting ahead so they can hold territories, which is fair). That makes any duped wealth miniscule in comparison, which is why I think before any fresh start servers happen, we need to address this issues. Which they are as they mentioned in the dev video.
Still think it needs to be temporary fresh start servers though.

Yeah it’s a tough thing to feel out. Which is why I don’t see why you can’t have both… Have temporary fresh start servers instead of permanent ones but hey I’m someone that played since launch and never left, so you can see where I’m coming from. MMORPGs are just not one of those games you can invest a ton of time into and then just abandon all of that work. Continuity I think is really important and making players feel confident that their time invested in their character won’t get thrown away. Not that anything lasts forever but less than a year into the game’s life is tough.
Again, FF totally did it. Other games I believe had more of a soft relaunch and also were successful without wiping everyone’s progress and time invested.
Please don’t wish ill on these people’s livelihoods. You can be critical without saying this.

AP server comes when you hit peak numbers and have 1000 player ques. I been back for a week and have not seen the region hit peak players yet.

If they do fresh start servers you best believe they’re gonna do a big announcement and give people time to plan.
Lets hope they are gonna launch new locked servers when new update hits.
How do you compare wow, what will happen with wow will happen, after the nostalgia they will be forgotten.
if they had put new transfer-locked servers, we would still have servers with queues.
If you want to feel again the feeling of the first time that new world came out, I have bad news for you, even if new servers come out you will never feel the same again, since the only thing you will have is the feeling that I felt the first day, then you will leave the pj forgotten and that server will have to be merged because the nostalgic veterans came up with the idea of creating a new pj out of nostalgia.
