People keep asking for better communication. Amazon keeps responding with the copy paste answer “We hear you” then proceeds to go quiet when the long awaited patch day arrives. No delay info whatsoever.
All is forgiven if they just release outpost rush imo
Oh yeah I’m so excited about playing outpost rush with gear that doesn’t matter as long as it’s heavy and has resilient and using 2 fire staffs while weapon swapping and shotting fireballs like an AK47 while people afk in it because you get rewards anyways.
Um you didn’t say it right
Heavy pvp armor + epic onyx gems in all pieces and jewelry + two fire staff macro ak-47 lol.
eh the double weapon macro machine gun thing will get fixed. They’ll probably put in some kind of anti-afk measure too.
If I was a betting man? Last night’s shift manager was told to finalize fixes on priorities #1-6 (arbitrary number), and has been unable to fix a major issue on his/her shift alone, so they’re waiting until the last possible minute to release today’s notes.
At least, that’s what I would do with our major weekly deliverables…sometimes you just can’t get it done in time. That’s when the “work will always be here” mentality helps developers maintain their sanity and not feel like failures. It’s harder to do than you think. High-stakes deliverables come with an unreal amount of stress. Now take the amount of constructive and unconstructive criticism and pitchforks we have in the forums, and you have the reason why many folks who get into game development don’t last very long.
Oh, and their communication is pretty good, BTW. We get multiple responses per day and they’re telling us all that they can. They’re definitely not going to make the same mistake twice…”to a server of your choice”…
Last weeks patch was solid so I’m cautiously optimistic. They really should have scheduled maintenance day and time tho. release what you’ve finished this week and move on
I’m not going to defend AGS in the specifics, but imagine trying to respond to all of the issues expressed in the forums. It’s a Herculean task. IT support isn’t easy in the best of circumstances. Here you are dealing with a lot of opinions and varying directions. I wouldn’t want their job, and I run an IT team myself.
“We hear you,” is typical corporate jargon for WDGAF.
I don’t get now acknowledging this game is a dumpster fire of bugs and broken content is going to ease anyone’s conscious. I think it’s clear to everyone now this was rushed to production so they could churn out a quick profit and save on further testing.
For a company as customer centered as Amazon this really makes them look bad and I think as this kind of behavior becomes standard for gaming companies, people are going to be less and less inclined to pre-order or purchase products at launch which will hurt games in the long run.
It’s not fair to sell something half finished as a full product then tell me to sit around and wait while you fix it, that’s what pre-launch betas are for. It’s been a month with not a lot of fixes or information.
Parroting “we hear you” doesn’t make anyone feel better Amazon.
They’re saying a whole lot more than “We hear you.” They’re simply not making committal statements until they know to a specific degree of certainty that a problem is fixed.
This isn’t new, this happens everywhere, not just in game communities either.
So what the discussion here?
Or ist it just to confirm your disappointment?
How long must it be enabled though, does 1 hour satisfy you before it gets disabled again?
I’m sure it isn’t an easy job, but on the other hand… they did promise to make a list of 20 things with community concerns and that was around two weeks ago. Also, the same stuff is being repeated on the forums (transfers, economy, pvp, exploits, and so on). They don’t need to respond to every single topic, all they have to do is make a list of write down what they know or will work on in the future.
Every time I see a response from them like this it makes me think of the BP oil apology on South Park…“Im sorry”
Are you implying that they could have a potential of small bug fixes ready to go out but are withholding small fixes due to wanting to include a major fix or 2? Or are you saying they weren’t able to solidly fix ANY bugs in the past week?
31 minutes. I’ll sit in queue for 30 min, play for 1 min and then it’s disabled again. That’d be the sweet spot.
With a bit a luck you will have the game breaking bug that literaly blocks your character in limbo so you have a good reason for never ever playing this garbage.
