A'ight, I'ma Head Out

I think the op raised some valid points but don’t exaggerate.

came here to make this thread…found this one summing up all my feelings on the game. its unfinished for starters. what do level 60’s have to look forward to other than grinding over and over…to do what? fail an invasion? theres no end game content.

The stun locking is very real and its only made worse by respawn timers.

The crafting makes no sense considering how the economy works…or doesnt work. you’re only gonna end up grinding gear anyways at 60. AGS needs to update a game thats still obviously in beta.

I don’t mind the stun locking in and of itself (it tends to happen mostly when you’re swarmed, so it should be possible to just avoid swarms) but it’s so prevalent because of things like 60s respawn and the rather odd decision to make us not be able to lock them back with our basic attacks.

I can CC lock npcs if I build in a very specific way with specific weapons. But given npcs get to interrupt us with any attack, we should be able to do the same in reverse.

Either way, the default 60s pop timers (and even the slightly extended one for elites) is anathema to fun. The only justification I can think of is they must have thought the entire world would be swarming with hundreds of players at all times. Literally the only time the 60s timers made sense was at the watch towers and low level farms on day one.

Maybe we - people who are staying around and are at the very least “ok” with things as they are today for the time being - could please lay off the attack responses? I genuinely hope the people bailing because they’ve decided this game’s not for them right now find a place they like that they can call home.

We’re all gamers, aren’t we?

I agree that some user attacks (specials and heavy) should prevent gritted attacks from landing if the user attack lands first.

Yeh fine with that concept.

I’d even be happy with partial parry mechanics depending on attack types striking both in the “active” frames.

Boring? I agree. But 1000x easier than EQ. I actually quit EQ to try this out. But crying about the game when you’re not even max lvl is a little silly. It dilutes your opinion. We will see how many people quit New World in the next few weeks. I agree with everything you’ve said, just to be clear.

I think for a game that even planned to be originally PvP only oriented ( and I myself am also more on the PvP side with only a bit of interest in raids or dungeons which are unfortunately also not that crazy), is this gathering and crafting far too slow(and not PvP oriented at all, obviously) and yet has a big impact in the PvP scene. But im pretty sure im one of only few that are of this opinion, still I at least hope the devs dont listen to you and make it even more slow and tedious.

You have a good point on the crafting. The rest is just you being bad at the game.

idk the prices on your server, but you do know the higher tier refining mats give you more steel/starmetal etc output? on my server there are plenty of cases where infused leather is like twice as efficient cost per skill gained. EDIT: compared to coarse leather stuff.

Well said bro.

Thanks, I had to make sure it was at your level of comprehension.

It’s annoying and painful because its a different kind of a combat system. It’s one built around 1v1s where you are attacking and counter attacking. Although the way that attacks come out in pve, many of them don’t have startup frames making dodging them guess work. Additionally, when you are fighting a lot of enemies, the entire combat system goes out the window as you cannot consistently micromanaging the attack patterns of many mobs at the same time. So you have to play the game completely differently to make the game work.

The 60 second respawn enemies are fun for lots of reasons. If you are using a ranged weapon like bow and musket and not using cleave/aoe effects, it becomes very tedious and frustrating when the DPS is so horribly low that the respawn timer is outpacing your DPS. And that is a problem with bow/musket.

Wrong. Watermarking items isn’t the same zone. There’s several different zones across the world that have different types of enemies in them and all of them have different bosses and elite chests to get. Since they have a 1 day cooldown, the optimal strat is to explore all the areas each day. Or if you don’t have the time, hit your favorite areas then do something else.

Unfortunately this is what happens when AGS doesn’t mix the area enemies in each zone and just gets 3 types of enemies in most of the starting zones and one of the endgame zones.

Well, you made good points out there… good luck in the next MMO brother.!

the number of “don’t let the door hit you on the way out” comments are just too dang high. At least be somewhat respectful of peoples gripes even if you don’t agree with them. For those posters that include helpful tips and constructive comments I commend you for trying to let the OP see what you like about the game.

Why do people need to “announce” in long letter before they leave? It’s like they want people to watch them walk out? and their crap don’t stink.
Why not just leave in peace and let the rest of us who are enjoying the game not to be berated with post like this.
Every MMO at launch has growing pains EVERY SINGLE ONE. If you can’t see that then nothing will satisfy you. Then I implore you to may your own MMO game.

So in the words of ICE CUBE…BYE FELICIA

True. True. Have you also noticed, that bascially all wild animals had Bruce Lee traning and all Corrupted went to Jacky Chan fighting classes. It’s ridiculous. I like tough fights, but not such ones. It’s just retarded. And I’m willing to bet USD 100 claiming that the devs coded player-key-hit-responses to their enemies like animals: player hit’s this key, enm makes this, blah.

It’s just plain idiotic. I still enjoy the game for what it’s worth, but these game designs are really unfortunate…

I look at it this way, as long as you’ve enjoyed enough of the game and got your £35s worth, then there’s no point in staying. No communication, no Devs saying what they’re doing or not doing, a few moderators warning people over non toxic comments yet letting the foul mouthed kids run riot, total plague of gold sellers because some idiots are buying gold, content being changed because of exploits, cheats and bots. It’s not exactly a success, and I won’t find it difficult to just uninstall.

Having been a closed alpha/beta tester of such games as EQ2, Rift, Archeage, LoTRO, Lineage etc. I really wonder what the people in Alpha and Beta were doing. Looking for exploits I guess? Or was this the “new trend” of games using players as testers because it’s cheaper (actually YOU pay them to get an unfinished game to “test”) and said “alpha” and “beta” are just showcases? Remember, you get what you pay for…nothing.

Wow, this story exact same with mine.
I am at the phase with screw crafting i will try to get 50. ‘Shit all mobs have infinite knockbacks’ ‘Shit, why these are spawned again?’

I did it to throw my frustration into the void. Nothin’ special

Sorry you made the personal decision to read my post and get offended ya’ wanker. :joy:

Yea you right dawg. I should grab one of those big black chalkboards and map out my plan of attack for those brutal townboard quests

I bought any needed gear off the AH, which was usually just a higher dmg weapon. I played a caster and had Int + Constitution. If I needed gear I could just craft it as all my skills were 100+. Passives aren’t a dealbreaker during leveling and as far as I’ve heard 95% of them are bugged anyways.
