Aimbots solutions

I agree! It does suck that we can’t change crosshair settings natively in New world, but AGS moderators have consulted with AGS developers and confirmed that this does not “interfere” with the game in any way, though it DOES provide an advantage by having a better crosshair it still isn’t against ToS and this is confirmed.

Mind you this is a THIRD-PARTY EXTERNAL SOFTWARE, that literally puts an OVERLAY on top of your game to display a crosshair that’s not natively change-able ingame. Where most smartasses in these forums would argue “against ToS because it provides unfair advantage” the developers themselves have said it isn’t.

Best part about this is there are players who report exploiters for “exploiting” when they themselves also exploited. Funny how it goes full circle

Apparently it’s ok for “them” to exploit but not for them to get “exploited” on.

Yep I agree, the crosshair on the musket is atrocious.

On the side note, I am surprised that the screenshot with the comparison has some people I recognized from El Dorado. CHONGAL and Elyx are both musket users, they usually roll with their pre-made groups sometimes they use 4 man muskets with a pocket healer. Funny thing is I saw one of them say that musket is not OP when they’re always using it lol.

Well these two are obviously FPS players at heart, so they will play a weapon that suits them more I guess? Anyway, it’s not really upto us to decide what other people play. It’s not like I can tell you that you should play this or that because I can’t, that’s all you. So if they say Musket is not OP and they’re using it, it only means they are both good enough to make it work for them. Because if it was OP then you’d see half the game population using it which is not the case as AGS themselves have admitted that it is indeed the least used weapon in the game afterall…

From what I’ve seen a lot of MMO players aren’t used to the way the musket plays that’s why there isn’t a lot of people playing it. However that does not mean it isn’t overpowered. It offers a more challenging playstyle to people new to FPS but for regular FPS players it’s nothing new aside from the rapier getting away mechanics. A hitscan weapon is very strong considering the current state of PVP in NW, most especially to people who play with FPS. You can’t really say it’s not overpowered when the only counter to it, is other muskets which as I’ve said before alot of MMO players aren’t used to playing with.

All this not to mention the 2nd chances you get with rapier and the kiting capabilities of rapier. I’m also not saying that they shouldn’t play with musket, feel free to do so especially if they’re good with it. I’m just saying don’t claim Musket/Rapier isn’t a strong weapon combo in PVP just because a lot of other players don’t use it.

Do not confuse the word “strong” with “convenient”

These are two very different things…

Here’s a brief summary of why it isn’t overpowered:

  • 2 Second reload time, (can barely function on any range other than Long-range) I’d like you to try it yourself and fight a mage close quarters, let us know if you enjoy playing Musket then

  • Special / Overload shots root you in place when used allowing you to take “free” hits from anyone that’s literally within 30meters of you (effectively bolstering the first reason why it doesn’t play out well in close/midrange)

  • Shooter stance 5-shot ability that literally forces you to become a sitting duck so you can deal more damage in a burst window of 5-shots that which, depending on your aiming skills, could all miss. (Whereas a mage can simply no effort, look at someone, turn on the flamethrower and deal consecutive damage over time with absolutely no effort and aiming required)

  • It has a max range of 125meters (meaning you can shoot people extremely far away but that doesn’t mean you land ALL of your shots because this is NOT a tab-target game) You’d have to have an exceptional amount of aim to be able to consecutively land shots on an actively moving target that’s FAR away.

  • Its projectile hit radius is a pixel, because it’s hitscan, you can literally be 1cm off target and miss making headshots extremely unlikely to land

  • Most of its damage modifiers come from landing headshots and putting debuffs so you can empower your succeeding shots

  • Musket builds force you to sacrifice most of your constitution to deal “relevant” damage. Even with 300 dex and 200 int with 5 con you still tickle a heavy player with 150 con, you only deal “strong” damage to LIGHT ARMORED targets.

  • This crosshair is so atrocious that the player’s heads from 100+ meters away are not visible because of how ugly it is that it just blocks your visibility forcing most musket players to go for consecutive body shots

Again, please tell us how the weapon is “overpowered” when it takes 5-10 shots to kill heavy players, potentially more than 5 shots to kill “medium” armored players (because of the amount of dodges you can make with med armor) and then finally, be able to kill light armored players in 2-4 shots (you can only 2-shot another player that has 5 con also running glasscannon, this 2-shot doesn’t happen to most light armored players with over 150 con as they need to get shot 3-4 times to die) and the interval between each shot outside tactical reload is 2 seconds unless you are using shooter stance which has a cooldown of 18 seconds (around 14-15 if you have refreshing stacked) but also puts you at risk if you play with it within 50meters of an enemy.

I can only assume you use it.

Let’s also face it guys, Muskets hit only for 2k average, 3k-4k on crit (but crit is RNG) and you can only force a crit from the 300 dex perk that has a cooldown of 10 seconds which means you can’t 3-4k crit someone to death from full HP (this almost never happens due to the nature of said RNG)

  • It takes 4 shots of 3k crits to kill someone on light armor with 5 piece resilient @ 12k HP (and this is assuming they let you shoot them 4 shots in a row without getting out of LoS or going behind solid cover, without you missing a shot, and them just standing still)

  • In practice, you’d need a 625 GS Musket with enchanted as bare minimum (most probably infamy as dungeon drop), plus crippling powder burn and empowered shooter stance perks to actually deal just “enough” damage to kill someone. (How bad is that? Heck I have a mage gear set that’s only 600 GS and I’m doing MORE damage and getting MORE kills than I do with the Musket with MUCH less effort and I’m NO master at mage / FS+IG)

And not only that, you need to land your first shot as the powderburn so you can initialize your damage increasing talents/perks so you can now finally deal 3-4k crits.

I have a video I made a few months ago using barely 600 GS gear against another player with about the same GS in average

Target’s gear setup: Imgur: The magic of the Internet

Video of the damage test

Now before you go on and tell me “You’re not wearing proper gear!” That’s PRECISELY the PROBLEM, that’s how you SHOULD test things, you don’t go and test with Best-in-Slot gear (oh no I hit him hard with a 625 infamy), you slap on a weapon that works with its main scaling stats, and then you hit your player target. You don’t cherry pick the best perks for the weapon just so you can see the best damage numbers it can deal, we are testing what an average musket player can pull out of his ass as soon as he picks up a musket (and we’re not talking about picking up a good musket, just any musket that works)

If you can tell me that this damage you see on the video is “overpowered” I want what you guys are smoking, whatever it is.

For a 300 dex 100 int 50 con setup this certainly sucks! Imagine not being able to play at 150 con and dealing this low amount of damage with a non-BiS setup? How is this seen as OP? A mage with 150 con, 300 Int can deal way more damage with a 600 GS firestaff from heavy attacks with fat hitboxes.

Again, before you comment anything about gear, you don’t have 625 gs weapons in the PTR when you do tests lmfao don’t even bother arguing about gear!

if it helps, there are people with 550GS BB used in Live PvP and can do much more damage than a Musket can and even 2-shot combo people 100-0 that’s what you call OP

You’re easy to see already.

whoever uses aimbot hmu lmk where u get it from thanks

Or just Line of Sight the musket… You know… like an MMO player or an FPS player.

Lmfao the amount of cope in your post…

This is the literal definition of an unfair advantage.

You say a lot for someone with 6500 hp

I think the issue is that most players who try out the musket are astounded by how many shots fly straight through an opponent’s chest.

Not as much cope as thinking that simply changing graphics settings is a bannable offense similar to overclocking your PC for a significant performance boost (which you people probably see as an unfair advantage)

Reminds me of the old WoW arenas, where tab-target LoS behind cover and running around constantly while jiggle peeking and throwing abilities with constant micro with all the spell interrupts/silences/cc chains being thrown and what not lmao was a thing but apparently MMO players aren’t used to playing with that.

If you can’t change the selected option in the in-game graphics menu, and have to install a driver tailored specifically to a game… you’re doing the same shit my buddies used to do in quake in the 00’s to make sure they got constant 60+ fps.

Im not saying youre bad for doing it, im saying its an unfair advantage to the player who installs this game off of steam expecting a smooth experience. Either make it selectable within the game, or dont allow it.

Isn’t that currently the case anyways?

Inability of MMO players to cope with action combat systems is why this game is a mess in the first place. Combat wasn’t nearly this terrible two years ago, in fact it was really really GOOD, but after the public preview all the MMO players cried that action combat is too hard.

Well that’s where you’re wrong, you think this is a driver tailored specifically to a game but this “software” as you call it is tailored specifically for your graphics card brand / manufacturer. This is not something you use specifically just for one-game that led you to think that it’s “unfair” because you can practically apply this to ANY game and there have yet been any actual PUBLIC cases where a player is banned for using this software to modify graphics settings supported by the GPU. The video posted by one guy here about BFV was Jackfrag’s video and it’s a speculation about the issue, it does not even contain dice’s official take on the matter  And that’s just one game, you haven’t heard of anyone getting penalized for changing graphics settings in the most popular games right now.

Heck I remember people used Nvidia filters for Rust to have visual advantage and be able to see more during the night (which in this case, is a true case of unfair advantage) and yet nobody got banned for that lol.

It’s not, New world has players, just not a fraction close to what it used to have on launch. But yeah, if they wanted to ban people for modifying graphics settings the only way they’d catch on to this is to ban everyone with an Nvidia graphics card

Queue in the tickets following: “I got banned for no reason” but the real truth behind that is they got banned for owning a graphics card brand and having access to change the graphics card settings of their own volition.
