Alacrity Stat On Amulet Has No Effect

  • What is your character name in New World: Mausolea

  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: Ryugu-Jo

  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: Amulet Stat Alacrity has no effect on the duration of haste buffs I apply. Item says “Haste you apply lasts 14% longer” but using both a stopwatch and also checking distance travelled running after triggering a haste buffs till it expires on various abilities with both the amulet equipped and also removed showed no change (I tested Hustle from the Musket Tree, Allegro from the Rapier Tree and also Keen speed weapon stat from my Soulforged Spear). All of these abilities apply a 3 second buff which should become a 3.42 second long haste buff with my new amulet equipped but does not my recordings still show 3 seconds only. My thoughts are that as the haste duration buff is showed in seconds only unless the 14% adds a full second onto the timer then it will have no effect. So 3sec x 1.14 = 3.42 seems to just get rounded back down to 3 seconds

  • Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug

  • (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: I am not receiving the benefit of the perk and i have also spent 16,500 on an item that is not nearly worth that amount with a broken perk.

  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: No

  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Use an Amulet with the Alacrity perk and see it will have no effect on a 3 second long haste effect

Hmm, unsure but will time it. This ‘rounding problem’ may be not just the case for Alacrity if true.

It doesn’t work on Passives like “Hustle”. Hustle says you “gain” 10% Haste, that is not the same as applying it.

Applying Haste is when you use an ability to give others the haste buff. For example with Beacon the Lifestaff ability. I’m not sure if you even can “apply” haste to yourself. Anyway i can say that from every passiv it’s “gaining” and not “applying” therefore doesn’t profit from the 14%.

Hope you get what i mean. Cheers.

Yea i do get what you mean but besides beacon is there any other ability that applies haste to others? It would be super awkward if it only worked one or two singular abilities as most Haste is self applied. I will try to test it but i need to level a Life staff up a bit and have someone else help which makes it a bit harder to check.

When you use hustle you gain the Haste buff icon thus it is applied by me the wearer of the amulet (If it wasn’t applied by me who applied it?) with Alacrity it should very much work like that for it and the other abilities i mentioned. Just like Freedom perk appears to be broken at the moment I’m convinced this perk is also non functional.

Perhaps they need to make it more clear in the tooltip by simply adding “haste you apply to others” if your right. Personally i think it needs fixing or if they cant manage that for whatever reason change the perk to increase the haste speed amount while under its effects instead of duration. At any rate i would like some benefit out of the perk rather than simply nothing

I’m not sure if there are any other abilities that apply haste.

Tell me when you tested it. I think the same applies for the “fortify applied” aswell. You could test that aswell, if fortify from yourself are increased.

Sadly there are several perks that can be rolled but do absolute nothing. Like Thwarting Strikes on Ice Gauntlet.

Wording in this game was always a big issue.

I wonder if its about “gain” or “apply”, the perk wouldn’t make sense existing if it doesnt work on any Haste you get from any source.

Don’t think it should be a language problem. If you “apply” a “bandage” (for example) it is the same terminology if you do it to yourself or someone else.

Tested this, so I think you are right. The game seems to round the numbers up/down.

I used Empowered Amulet that increases Empower duration by 14 %. Keenly Empowered or Bow Rune Dodge gives each 5s Empower, with the amulet perk it was increased to 6. Calculated it would be 5,7s, but the game rounded it up to 6s.

Additionally to this, Alacrity did not round up the Haste from the second Evade Shot rune upgrade, what gives 15 % Haste for 5 sec. In other words, its not just a rounding problem but the perk doesn’t seem to proc on all Haste. Test it yourself with the Bow and Amulet perk.

Yea thanks for doing some additional testing Taborlin. I tested it with the 5 second haste on skill cast with a Firestaff and also recorded no effect where it should be quite noticeable with an extra 0.7 seconds and saw no effect or rounding up. Pretty cooked found a second problem with Empowered from checking the original one. Wish my Alacrity was rounding up like that haha. Seems they need to add in more time increments other than full seconds to support these type of perks.

Could we get a Dev here to acknowledge this could be looked into and added to the known issues list please.

Empowered is working perfectly. But Alacrity seem to not working.

I just found a quest reward ring in my bank (Jewel of Vengeance) that also has 12% Alacrity on it together with my Amulet that is 26% duration increase. With it equipped I have triggered combat speed with the fire staff.

26% of 5 seconds is 1.3 seconds

It should show the 6 second tooltip with over a full second added it does not it remains on 5 this is the most straightforward test I have done the Alacrity Perk is completely non functional.

Dev’s please add to the known issues list its very easy to confirm his with an amulet and the ring i mentioned.
