All 5 players need Turning Orbs, 15 hour House Tax

You won’t need the house for anything if you’re not playing the game anymore…

I haven’t bought a house yet either, honestly the only zone I really want a house in is Great Cleave cause I love the snow but apparently we’re not allowed to live there. Oh well I’ll just keep hanging out with the inn keepers.

The topic was mostly just me ranting, as I said in OP post I feel the game loses casual players, one of the things is the way the House Tax system is set up, from your comments I take it casual players shouldn’t buy a House.
If their don’t traveling can become very inconvenient, if their do the tax might seem to much of a chore and their leave anyway.

Since you have 3 Houses I guess you already know how good it is to have a House, and don’t understand why you call people narcissistic and entitled for wanting a better housing system.
I should probably mention that I’m not a casual player, you seem to be focusing on me a lot.

Kind of like how life works huh. Having your own house is great, but its expensive. I wouldn’t buy a house in a place I didn’t spend much time in. Every individual is different, and has to make their own decision on whether or not it is worthwhile to make that kind of investment.

I would buy a house in a place I did spend a lot of time, could afford one, and would get the most out of it, and I wouldn’t if otherwise. I totally get the ranting, Ive had plenty of moments where I wished I could afford something that looked awesome that I could not afford. It happens to all of us.

I think we’re on the same page now.

Funny thing is, I deleted my character and I had 6 orbs sitting in my backpack (2 for amrine, 3 for depths, and 1 for something else I forget.) I don’t remember if they’re BoP or you can trade them. But, either way, that’s 6 valuable orbs down the drain that people could have used if I didn’t quit playing. I wonder how many other orbs were deleted?

Oh…and not to mention all the motes, wisps, and whatever needed to craft those kinds of items. All deleted.

They are bop, and low tier dungeon orbs would have very little value.

As to deleting that other stuff, that just makes the stuff I have to sell more valuable.

Not sure you should have deleted your character, whatever you had problems with could change down the road, and make you come back at some point.

Aye back in my day we would say that was cutting off ones own nose to spite their face.

I wasn’t trying to one up anyone, just saying that a lot of valuable stuff has probably been deleted by a lot of people disgusted by the state of the game.

That’s actually why I deleted it, to make sure I wouldn’t play again. If this game ever gets to a state where it’s worth playing, it will be a very long time from now, and I would just start over without caring too much since I’d be way behind and would have forgotten everything anyway.

But, the likelihood of this game becoming something I want to play is not very likely.

Ive written off their dungeon system. I have orbs in my inventory that are player bound and I refuse to pug it. My company might run it, but to what end, to say that we did? Why do we need orbs period… just put a daily cooldown on the instance and be done w/ it.

The housing tax isn’t a big deal. I mean the first 3 faction missions you do a day is 10x gold so say you do some easy ones worth 12 that’s 120 x3 or 360g per day ~2,500 a week easy. I guess if you’re unlucky and the company that owns the territory decides to max stuff out it would suck but then you just don’t pay it. You can’t use the port or any trophy buffs but you don’t lose the house or anything in it and the tax is not cumulative. Once you hit 50 hit up every invasion you can for an easy 650 gold plus any wars you can get into and of course there is OPR at 60.

It is to me. And it’s not about how long it takes to get the money to pay it, so spare me the income generation advice.

if you don’t want housing tax then don’t bother with the housing.

Bingo. I don’t have one, don’t intend to ever get one. Unless they change the tax system. It’s a big deal.

I also only trade directly with other players. I don’t pay listing fees and sales taxes. Once I max out crafting, I won’t pay refining and crafting taxes in any significant amount.

Taxes don’t belong in entertainment. It’s a big deal.

It’s just a gold sink mechanic. All games need them to try and manage inflation.

Not for me.

Oh wait no the tax goes to the owning company so they can keep the settlement upgraded. With the idea that the more the settlement is upgraded the more people want a house there.

I know the Housing Tax isn’t a big deal to some, but I’m sure its a big deal to many others, the system could really be done better, you could even encourage people to pay the Housing tax but letting them try it out without such a big down payment, or being locked in where ever their buy a House

Changing it to only being able to buy 1 house keeping the same price to buy them but removing all taxes for the 1 house players have bought, it would give less gold for the main trading hubs on servers.

Then giving players the ability to rent 2 other houses by only charging the weekly house tax, their should be no extra down payment, only the house tax to rent a house.

It would make the lvling experience more enjoyable, when players get to a new area for quests, their could easily rent a tier1, only 32% of players have passed level 40 yet.

It would distribute more gold out to other city’s that aren’t the current trading hubs on servers, either their attract players with lower taxes, or having specific crafting stations players need.

Players who have already bought more then 1 house would need their gold returned.
then what rented house tiers provide could be changed separately from the house you buy
so tier1 house only gives access to teleport and nothing else.
tier2 gives access to 1 storage chest
tier3 gives access to 1 storage chest and trophies
tier4 gives access to 4 storage chests and trophies

The only thing in this game worth playing is OPR. Settlement upgrades don’t have any effect on it. The people like you who consider taxation to be a fun and enjoyable gaming feature will ensure there’s always upgrades anyway.

Thanks for your support.
