This game has attracted a ton of new MMO players that really do not know how pvp works in all the other MMOS.
The topic of interest here needs to be – stop complaining.
This game is no different from lets say ,WoW, where you can be perma CCd by RMP or deleted in 1 global by (insert your class of choice here)
All MMOs are like this when it comes to pvp.
This isnt a MOBA or single player ARPG, or a game of the PUBG genre (FORTNIGHT/VALORANT AS AN EXAMPLE).
So all of you chill out and learn to play.
There are NO WEAPONS here that are op.
You take your lumps in pvp and deal them too-- as I have.
Theres no weapon combo I cant beat, and conversely, I die alot too to x,y.z combos.
Just learn to play and enjoy the game.
Devs, stop catering to these people who really dont know what they are talking about.
You lost all your real MMORPG players already.
most of your player base now has no concept what an MMO is, and if you stop pandering to these non MMO players, you wil recapture your original, and intended target audience.
I want a balanced competitive PvP experience. I’m sure many others want the same. Just because past mmorpgs failed to balance their games doesn’t mean AGS shouldn’t try.
You can not balance pvp that is tied to pve game with holy trinity class roles. Its been tried for decades by a lot smarter people with much simpler systems and it always fails miserably.
In mmorpgs pvp isnt about balance between players, where everyone has equal potential ignoring player skill. It sure as hell isnt balanced nor should it be around 1v1.
Its balanced around finding group compositions that are strongest against a current meta and when that meta becomes dominant finding another to beat that one. This is why preform pvp is so popular in mmorpgs.
Introduced ranked preform 20v20, 5v5, 3v3, and 2v2 and the pvp scene will start to resonate more.
Nerf pve further youll lose your remaining players.
Deal with the lag, desync and make an actual concerted effort of handling cheating and exploits in the game and then we can really discuss combat balance.
I have been killed plenty of times by mage or melee hit squads when all I hear in the forums is how immortal, unkillable, unfair, unbalanced our builds are because of x y & z. Even if the nerf people got their way n have all weapons nerfed to oblivion there’d still be someone somewhere who will complain that weapon A is stronger than weapon B therefore weapon A must be Op. It’s almost practicing, modifying, experimentation, trial & error are taboo to the nerfing crowd.
Mostly I play strategy and sports and this is my first MMO. Loving the game although I am not very good at the PvP (and sometimes the PvE) part of the game. I hope for the most part the weapons are left as they are and AGS continues to work on bugs and additional content.
I think AGS needs to start listening to people complaining about how badly broken or undertuned some of the weapons in this game are.
Fire Staff finally got corrected. Hatchet desperately needs help, especially the Throwing tree. Sword and Shield has the perennial Shield attributes problem and needs buffs for the Swordmaster tree.
Honestly it’s just annoying watching streams of rapier players being like “OH THINK YOU GOT ME? BOOM CYA.” Then “Oh too slow! Ha-ha!” Then “oh want to run with me, really want to go for a journey?” Lmao.
It’s a little ridiculous in wars with healers and the rest of the back line. But whatever, I’m cool with an evasion weapon.
it is funny though to see people complain about bow and rapier when there’s void gauntlet screams about every 5 seconds cause of cd reduction, ice wall which is impossible to get out of, grav wells thats being buffed again, not to mention the amount of desync bow players have to deal with. Every patch they made after introducing the void gauntlet has gone downhill. whats the point of sticking around anymore if we know the pattern
Lol it’s getting a technical buff and a moderate nerf actually
Leaping strike gets a big tracking improvement but reverse stab will no longer reduce the cooldown for itself on hit, just other skills…which is weird since you know…vault kick…
Not at all, in my last OPR i ve cast a fireball on my opponent with a musket and i barely did 10% dmg ! Then could you explain me why Heavy attack doesn t burn the ennemy ? Only light attack does and no crits in back too, this is ridiculous… Running and fleeing an ennemy mage is the easiest way to do it since the mage will slow down when he attacks so can t catch up the other one. Make no sense
What about Lifestaff from AGS ? Absolved at Tier 1 , this is insane, they don t need mana at all … Put that talent at Tier 3 or 4
