All PTR feedback was swept under the rug for Barnacles and Black Powder

another part of copypasta in the world experience which is just a punch in the face of a player, you’re expecting a new design in a new dungeon and you get copypasta.

whoever is responsible for that, i have no idea how he can look into a mirror and not be ashamed of himself.

like when you run to new towns you’ve never visited before and you arrive just to notice that it’s a copy pasted town with a couple of building just being moved a bit, that’s by far the worst experience you can give any player after serious game breaking bugs.

i have no idea why this is a thing and still is.

I am so speechless :frowning:

It’s such a shame because the aesthetic of the dungeon is phenomenal.
Just lacks mob variety, lore, identity.
And not tedious puzzles or a 1-1 copied part of an older dungeons.

Like why can’t we have smaller re-skinned versions of Nereid in the Sunken Depths they clearly are related to Angry Earth just a water version.

It’s just mindblowing to me feels like they have no 3d artists to make mobs.

This is what I meant with lack of identity, Admiral Blackpowder says in 1 of his notes:
We are the crew of the Darkheart! Our name strikes fear into the hearts of all who hear!

Where in this entire dungeon do you see that you’re fighting them?
You don’t because they look the same as every pirate in the game.

They don’t even have their own logo :black_heart:
Why would the famous Darkheart crew steal a generic pirate logo.

I could go on and on, but I’ll just leave it at this.
It’s a shame, let’s hope this lacks because they fully focused on Brimstone Sands.

Just noticed on my 11th run that the mobs are named Black Flag, I’m wondering why?
Why aren’t they called Darkheart Grenadier, Gunner etc.

I love how 1 single tiny bit of the entire dungeon resembles a part of another dungeon and instantly you’re all pressed :joy::joy::joy: i didnt even realize it looks like lazarus because its not something anyone should care about but here we are i guess

I’ll give em the credit for this one, even if they copy-pasted some of it, the other parts has more originality to it as well.

The new boss fight mechanic was pretty nice and the cannon with the big cannonballs was pretty entertaining. Considering the good stuff with the bad one I’d say it’s a pretty good new expedition.

It’s a matter of principle, they had 4,5 months for this piece of content.
And couldn’t get 1 man on reskinning some regular mobs.
You know how long it would take me to re-skin a single mob in blender?
just 1 work day per mob, reskin 7 mobs and the dungeon feels more unique instantly.
They had 135+ days and didn’t even bother.
Complaints about mob variety and the laz copy were day 1 complaints on the PTR.

And you know what they said?
these players are not worthy, their standards are so low they will eat up anything.
Let’s give them 2 unique bosses and copy paste the rest just like Tempest,
we did It before and we can do it again.

Where is the ambition, where are the standards?

Boss encounters and map design is the hardest part.
And they nail that, but the easiest part which is mobs, lore, attention to detail.
Nah we don’t do that here at AGS.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying the dungeon.
But I can’t stop noticing all these sloppy things that could’ve been fixed having 1-2 people on it for a week.

Reskinning a mob changes nothing, its still the same mob lmao. And the proof of that is people complaining about turkeys in different parts of the map having a unique look :joy: I dont really care how random ads look in a dungeon and i dont care if 1 tiny part of the entire dungeon resembles another as long as the bosses have unique and fun mechanics which imo they do.

Don’t bother with him. He is constantly in every thread that critiques the game and he licks Amazon’s boot so hard.

It’s a shame that he is fine with 2 new encounters in 4,5 months time.

In Sunken Depths part, could’ve changed the tendrils when they do the spin attack and create toxic cloud around them, change it into creating a water wave that works like Zhou Taiying.

Literally grab the FX add a blue’ish shade over it.
Better than nothing but even that was too much to ask.

NW need a new desing for mobs, more mechanics for boss, better puzzles, PvE is so weak and need more attention.

That’s really what it comes down to, it’s a 50/50 experience.
The mechanics with the lever, dynamite and cannonballs are so unique and fun.
Would love to see these mechanics in the Open World.
Admiral Blackpowder boss mechanics are amazing, Nereid is great.

But then you have this…
Unnecessary tedious puzzle that you have to do 3 times
A 0 shame straight up copy paste of an older dungeon
No gameplay changing mobs
No new visual mobs
No new environment models, beside the seaweed looking plants in the depths part
3 notes with lore that make no sense, most basic written NPC dialogue
No NPC voiceovers and no cutscene at the end like Tempest Heart
No previous lore build up in Cutlass Keys mentioning Darkheart crew in sidequests
Music literally being broken killing the atmosphere vibe

I hope Brimstone Sands is different, if not. Then the future is going to look grim.

This was the least they could’ve done.

Seems like there really is no point in participating in the PTR.

Isnt… most stuff still goes unchanged to live sv even tho they say it can or might be changed.

On top u do their work for free…

I’ll just do the next one to see what I can take advantage of and not say anything, since they don’t listen to feedback anyways. That may be the only point of it.

The reward caches do need improved, as far as the other stuff, whats been released is released.
They used components in their game and added a few twists, its not uncommon for games to do that. Shit 70% of dungeons in other mmos have similarities.
The achievements have been fucked since this game was in alpha, i dont actually think they care at this point so long as someone can achieve 100%.
Retexturing or coloring tendrils could be done by adjusting your own colorblind filter, we all know they’re angry earth tendrils why waste time on a retexture.
Honestly having beast(alligators) and angry earth(tendrils and neried) cultures in the lost expedition is a nice twist itself.

They even did this in Depths - the last walk before encountering Thorpe and the chamber of Thorpe is the same as Lazarus boss chamber before Chardis
