  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: ALL Weapon coatings buff fall off if you use ANY tool and Random actions will drop the buff off too.
  • Is this a bug or an exploit: BUG
  • (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: It makes weapon coatings almost useless because you’re not focusing on the buff when it SHOULD just stay on.
  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: YES, If you weapon swap back to the weapon with the coating, it reapplies the coating and you don’t lose it but makes it VERY annoying to fight bosses and other things.
  • (if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experience :
  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Apply ANY weapon coating. Go gathering. The Weapon coating buff falls off until you weapon swap back to the weapon that has the coating.

Honestly not sure what the problem is.

You have stated the coating is in fact still on the weapon you applied it to…

The coating will fall off and you have to keep swapping weapons for it to reapply. So you lose the buff and it’s very inconsistent on what makes it fall off or not.

I was wondering if it was just me. Please fix this issue – weapon coatings are basiically worthless in their current state, as the buff gets randomly removed within the first few minutes. The removal of the coating has nothing to do with unequiping or weapon swapping, as I’ve gone entire expeditions without swapping the weapon, and the coating still drops after the first or second pack of mobs. The only thing I can think of is maybe the weapon sheathing from animation cancelling also cancels the buff?? Can anyone else confirm?

A weapon coating is only applied to the current weapon equipped, it’s not a character buff.

Yes, but the coating buff falls off even if you haven’t switched weapons. Try it out for yourself.
